Delivery was botched twice. The first time, I stayed home from work to accept the delivery, but they couldn’t get the box springs up the stairs. I would have been more understanding of this problem if I had never told them that I live in a walkup, but I had specifically told them what kind of building I lived in, and not once, before the delivery date, did they ever mention that i might need to buy a split box spring instead of a regular one, or that I should even check the measurements of the hallway before scheduling the delivery. On the second delivery attempt(for which I spent another day at home waiting), they brought the box springs only and inexplicably did not bring the mattress and pillow that I had ordered. Both times, they told me that there was no possible way to complete the delivery the same day, and so both times I had to reschedule and take yet another day off to try again. On the third delivery attempt, they finally got the mattress here but would have failed to deliver the pillow if I hadn’t reminded them about it, shown them my receipt, and insisted. Let me be clear: all of this could have amounted to nothing more than a tolerable and forgivable inconvenience but for the fact that the employees I dealt with(with the exception of two sales associates) could not have cared less about their mistakes or the wasting of my time(the two sales associates I worked with — Michael and Symone — were actually both very nice and tried to set things right, but they had no control over the delivery aspect of the purchase). The people who run the delivery end of this business were unapologetic about the delivery mistakes that were made and careless about their own work(in that they repeatedly botched the delivery plans), and they did not even give lip service to the notion of being respectful of my time. If I had it to do over again, I would order directly from Tempurpedic rather than giving this place one cent more of my business.
