Sherman Iris, MD

Doctor Sherman was my doctor for six years. The last four years I went to her I had to go from the East Side to her office. It was worth the trip since she was so easy going to work with.
As is my usual fate it was not my insurance that changed. SHE decided she was no longer taking Blue Cross Blue Shield. I was devastated.
I have no complaints about her treatment. I am surprised that after all the good she does she would do something like that. Periodically I would call to see if she has changed back. I’m always told «no». I don’t bother now. I’ve finally gotten used to my new doctor’s bedside manner!
If she takes your insurance, lucky you!

Dr. Sherman is a good internal medicine doctor with excellent bedside manners and caring demeanor. She was recommended by a friend, and I’ve been seeing her for over 8 years. She is smart and sharp, is thorough in asking questions, and has good instincts and correct diagnosis.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Sherman today and she was great. Dr. Sherman was very comfortable to talk to. She answered my questions in a thoughtful and clear manner. I found her to be extremely thorough in building my baseline as a new patient of hers. I already trust her completely even after just one visit.

Dr. Sherman is THE best internist you’ll find in Manhattan. She’s whip-​smart, listens to and responds to all of your concerns, has incredible instincts, is down to earth, and generous of spirit. She’s been my primary care Dr. for the past 5 years and I wouldn’t dare see anyone else. Recently, I went to her office to see another doctor in another practice area, and during the exam, this other doctor called in Dr. Sherman requesting a quick look-​see on a separate issue she’d just discovered. Dr. Sherman was busy with her own patients that day, but nevertheless checked me, had 2 tests done on me, consulted with another specialist regarding the results, and shared them with me in the office, all that day, and ad hoc! Basically, on the spot. She’s the BEST! So thorough, caring, and attentive. I have nothing but the highest respect for her as a person and doctor. HIGHLY, highly recommended!

dr sherman is fantastic. her bedside manner is straightforward, relaxed and she clearly explains things in a way anyone can understand. she is also very thoughtful — concerned when appropriate, and a cheerleader when you need it. love her!
