Was just visiting, but they get the nod. Good little menu of teas. Nice other options too. Little nick-nacks everywhere. The longer wait for a cup of tea to go is a ding. If I remember they charge for a bigger cup too(meh. it’s just extra water, either give the extra cup size at cost about the small, or something, but don’t ream us on sizes). Would like to see daily/special same pots on taster display. I bumped it from a 3.5 to a 4 because places like this need praise for being open instead of criticize for being less than perfect. Warning to the store though. get those wait times down.

Great tea, and would love to give this place 5 stars. But I arrived 40 minutes before the posted closing time, began to order and an employee informed me that it was closing time. I would suggest being more clear about closing times!

Incorrect hours posted; supposedly closes at 7pm even though online it states 7:30pm( Unilocal, Google, etc.)

Found this place on Unilocal for a Friday afternoon coffee. I’ve lived around here for 9 months and have had trouble finding a good coffee joint. Though this place does coffee well, the teas are their specialty– the Ginger Turmeric Lemon is to die for. What I like most, however, is the atmosphere. It’s large, open, immaculately clean, and there is space to do work or hang out. The staff is also incredibly friendly and welcoming and it seems they know most of the people coming through the doors. I will certainly be back.

A nice surprise in Harlem. A good selection of teas from Africa. I enjoyed the atmosphere. A nice long table in the front and bar seating. I had the Lemon Oasis with some honey. It was excellent. My only suggestion would be that they have more sample sizes without the formal gift box. I wanted to buy a few teas — but the one size container stopped me. Having smaller sizes would allow for at home tastings without spending $ 12 to $ 24 a container.

My husband and I had a LOVELY afternoon here for a tea tasting. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They explain teas like a sommelier explains wine – except without the snobbiness or judgement. They selected some delicious teas for us and really made us feel like VIPs for our tasting. And the pastries from Balthazar were also delicious. The canele and cranberry scone were perfect. The chocolate croissant wasn’t as good though. We will be back for sure!

Absolutely in love. This place is amazing. I wish there was something like this in DC. This place is so soothing just like the tea they sell and serve. Customer service is excellent the gentleman who assisted me seemed knowledgeable and was very helpful when it came to recommending different tea options. I am not an online shopper but this may be a must have on the list.

Ah gentrification, changing our economical landscape. Serengeti’s a good example of how inherently un-evil gentrification can be. Instead of a verification of a «death of culture» it could be an opportunity for a refinement of culture(I say this coming from a neighborhood that could use less crackheads). Anywho– Coffee and water can get so boring. And sugary drinks aren’t going to get me that six pack, so tea it is! I say that as if I didn’t already like tea. Truth is, I already drink an exorbitant amount of tea a day and now I CANDRINKMORE! Seriously, my skin is drying out. Their selection can be very fun. I personally gravitate towards anything milky, so I’ll forever be sipping dat Nairobi Street Chai. It leans towards the dirty(bitter) taste, so be careful if you’re looking for something sweet. If you ask what’s popular, you’re gonna hear about their ginger tumeric; it is the whiskeys of tea. Ginger tumeric is not for the fainthearted and there will be a love/hate for that sting. The atmosphere is a dimly lit wooden aesthetic: fun for rainy day reads. There’s no wifi, so don’t expect to get any work done here, sadly. But hey, you probably decided to come here to relax anyways.

I really liked this place. I ordered the mango/peach fruit tea. My sister got the lavender green tea. We both ordered them iced. They were delicious. The store is very clean and attractive, and the two women working the counter were very friendly.

I’m a tea enthusiast and was happy to see such a variety! I’ve been looking into coming here for a while now and finally got around to doing so. BEST decision everrrr! I can be very indecisive, but the staff were super helpful and patient. I forget the exact name of what I ended up getting but it was a rooibos chai combo. My warm almond croissant was delicious as well! Great place to catch up with friends. They will be seeing me more often for sure!

Tea has always been a part of my life and I drink it daily. Serengeti has an enormous assortment of tea and other herbal products. The customer service was top notch and I loved how they gave me their honest opinion about each drink, I genuinely respect that. Pricing was pretty fair about 4 $ for a cup of tea. they have snacks too, I split a cinnamon bun with my girl; we both loved it. I will definitely be coming back here. 5⁄5 stars guys! keep it up !

Wow this place is amazing located in Harlem. What a gem. Beautiful place with bar like settings and a communal table that is comfortable with great music and vibe. I had their special of the day which they offer sampling before you buy and had ginger and tumeric and lemon which was amazing. Was spicy from ginger and tang from lemon with the right amount of sweetness Amazing.

I’ve been wanting to come to Serengeti and explore what they have to offer. I treated my twin sister out for afternoon tea. Serengeti is very cute and compact. As soon as we went in, the many pleasant and pungent aromas, jumped at me– in a good way and quite honestly, thought that Serengeti in Harlem was going to be a keeper… Menu is rich in flavors and offers different combinations. I settled for the Chocolate Chai, while my sister had the Lavender Vanilla. Interior is cute and adorned with their tea tins off on one side, along with some African décor and benches. Tea presentation was unusual and to maintain its heat, it was set on what looked like a glass double-boiler tea pot and a tea light underneath. All cute, gotta give it to them. I was anxiously waiting for my Chocolate Chai and when it was brought over to the table, I was salivating… I’m thinking– I’m in Harlem… and for sure it will be mo’ better unfortunately, it was quite a disappointment. Please don’t take offense… But the cocoa flavor was not present at all– and I was not pleased by the taste. Other than the absence of cocoa in my Chai… I feel like like I need to break it down for you… Was service good? Of course! Attention to detail? Totally! Tea variety? Definitely! Would I come back? Yes… To try their regular Chai.

The teas here are amazing. It’s fresh, and certainly unique. They taste like no other tea brand which is great in my book! The people that work there are neither great nor terrible. When I worked around here I literally came here every single day. Love this place… side note otherwise I usually don’t even drink tea.

I was floored by the tumeric ginger tea when I visited this store. Strong, invigorating, deep resonating flavor. I left with two cups and bag worth. Good product. You will not find these flavors at Teavana. The place is an oasis for a bibliophile wanting to feast on a few chapters. This place attracts many beautiful people, so beware… It is a friendly place. A warm place. If connecting to nice people is not your thing, there are coffee shops in the neighborhood for you. The strawberry hibiscus is exclusively mine while I am there. I kid.(No not really…) If you are a tea lover, this place is a gem! Enjoy.

So awesome, I came in for a second drink. Teas are really flavorful and vibrant. The tumeric ginger is so strong and spicy! Really loved the strawberry hibiscus. They are so friendly and accommodating here. I thought the tumeric ginger was too much and he offered to mix the to to my liking. Big plus are outlets and a clean bathroom! Love it.
