This is a good place to go after a night out of drinking. It satisfies the craving pretty well! I got the veggie enchilada with both the green and red sauce. I think the red sauce tasted better, but they were both enjoyable! It came with a side of rice and beans, which I wasn’t a big fan of maybe because the beans had a subtle bacon flavor to it(i don’t eat meat). All in all, I would go back if I was in the area to try the tacos because they are known for them.

Food is tasty Gringo-Mex. If you want an authentic Mexican experience I suggest finding an authentic Mexican place to eat. However that being said It fits the bill for a taco or quesadilla fix.

Discovered San Locos after my boyfriend moved to the LES about 2 months ago. We were just walking by on a lovely Sunday afternoon and being a huge sangria lover I was automatically drawn to their Sangria Sundays flyer which features $ 6 sangrias. After much hesitation from my boyfriend who would prefer me not eat Mexican food every day of my life, we went in! Boyfriend had a Michelada and you already know what I had. Also ordered a carnitas small hand held burrito. It is not authentic Mexican food but that does not take away from its deliciousness. The carnitas are pretty flavorful & the burrito is loaded with onions & cheese. Size wise it is the size of a burrito from Taco Bell but if you order the grande burrito youll get more of a Chipotle sized burrito aka the size of a small baby. Only complaint which the burrito is that it could be wrapped a bit tighter. This place is open until 5am and has delivery until 4am on weekends. Bartender also informed us they have a second location in Brooklyn.

Good for the convenience if you’re in the neighborhood and feel like something other than pizza, burritos are OK but a little rice heavy and on the dry side. Very forgettable food, I’d say. Server was detached and uninterested, not unforgivable considering the tipsy hipster clientele/neighborhood, but he was hasty with me and got my order wrong. No bueno.

Since my initial review I have stopped by this location on more than a few occasions & it’s never failed. What more can be said here? I have since tried the Chicken burritos which are really good nice size too they do give you a decent amount of food so make sure to come hungry. The Macho nachos with beef are really good, good tasting meat goes great with all the fixings on top but the one I tend to come back for is the Macho nachos chicken delicious piled high with all the fixings this so good chicken taste great & they give u nice portions of the meat. As for the place not much can be added seems like they made a few changes to the set up nothing crazy since the place is small. Service remains nice & easy quick too not a lot of waiting of course depends too on the time of day. Great prices, great tasting food that always taste fresh. I decide to up the stars this time because this place has yet to disappoint u can’t beat good food & service all at a reasonable price.

This is our favorite weeknight spot. We usually don’t want something super«sit-downy» but want to get out of the apartment without spending a ton. Why it’s our favorite: –Great prices on drinks and food, always leave full –I LOVE the roasted roasted veggie tacos, burritos, salads, etc. –there is a bar and a tv with sports on for my boyfriend — the noise level is low which is nice during the week(we’re not middle aged I swear) — margaritas! –friendly dudes behind the bar All of the stars!

So far I usually get hard shell tacos which are cheap $ 3 – 4 each and two or three makes a meal. All of the food is really reasonably priced and delicious. Usually not super packed and it offers a nice low key vibe.

San Loco is delicious! Sorry if you order tacos at 2:51 a.m. and God doesn’t bring you a fucking shiny unicorn of international intrigue. Go back to LI and tell people how«over» Manhattan you are. Meanwhile I’ll be tearing up a hard-shell fish taco and maybe some ball park nachos just to spite you! All stars.

First of all, HOMEMADEHOTSAUCE. I love tex-mex, traditional mex, any mex at all, but I have yet to find a place that compares to here regarding hot sauce. They have 4 tiers: Hot, Mild, Serious, and Stupid. While some of them may vary individually in intensity(a few times I went in and I SWEAR the«Hot» was hotter than the«Stupid», which is supposedly the hottest, but that’s neither here nor there). This place is the bomb! When it comes to menu items, I can be quite boring, in that once I choose something I like, I don’t stray far from the path. With that being said, I ALWAYS get the guaco loco tacos. Get this… It’s a soft shell taco smeared with guacamole… wrapped around a hard shell taco, with the goodies of your choice inside(chipotle chicken, fried catfish, pork, veggies, etc.). It is DELECTABLE. 2 will do it, but when I’m feeling gluttonous I can always finish 3. For me, they lose a star for price. It costs me $ 17(@ $ 5.25 a pop) + tip for three tacos… For me that’s kinda steep.

The bartender was wasted. He was a total dick and couldn’t keep his crap together. It was embarrassing and I’m annoyed. Go somewhere else. Please– wasting your time and energy.

(For the Williamsburg location on Driggs) Yum!!! I love there burrito loco and their loco bowl! Oh and how could I not mention there ***Strawberry margaritas***!!! So dang delish! I liked the other spot they were at around the corner a lot better. It had alot more space & more seating. Even though it got packed and had a lot of rowdy kids hanging out in there which I wasn’t too keen on. But the food hasn’t changed! The staff from the other spot was a little friendlier too. The guys that run the register now are miserable, grumpy and just plain have an attitude. All expect one guy, who when I walk in knows my drink of choice and starts to make it. But the other guys are terrible. I asked one guy for a strawberry mango margarita with extra strawberry and he kept insisting that it was going to cost more money. I told him that was fine but he kept insisting on how much more it was going to cost me. Embarrassed me in front of my date who was a first timer here. And since I raved about the spot was curious to check it out. This guy has zero customer service skills! They never smile or greet you. Management or the owners should come by sometime and see how their staff are running the joint. If it wasn’t for the food and drinks no one probably would ever walk through that door. They should rehire a whole new staff of friendly people who actually like working with the public. But even though the customer service here sucks I gave it four stars because I love the food and margaritas! I would def recommend this spot to friends. :)

Cheap eats and drunk eats. With all due respect to San loco or to open some hipster eyes, this is a take out place… Is not a 5 stars restaurant. Is great if you are in the LES drunk, and hungry. Is a great spot!

Well, cinco de mayo here was awful… Hour long line, one guy making all the food for tons of people. Not cool, they should have been way more prepared like other Mexican restaurant were. I stood inline to pick up my order and they told me they didn’t even get it although they confirmed it on seamless. So I had to go through all this extra work just to get a refund. What a shame really. Plus they stopped serving drinks, cmon!

This chicken nachos were very tasty. Perfect flavor. The chicken had some great moist flavored infused in each piece. Presentation was well spoken for these delicious little guys. Me and my friend shares them for a mid night snack. ;) 10 bucks but it was pretty big. I would LOVE to try the tacos now. Wayyy better than the one on bedford ave. This one was Wayyy tastier and it is a huge difference in the meat! Not many treats in the snack basket(it’s next to the cash register) and always full of treats!!! try them.

Holy crap this place has insane Mexican food on the go or eat in if you choose to do so with the drunk rowdy crowd but it’s all in good fun lol, my favorites are the fish tacos absolutely phenomenal, some of the best I have ever had anywhere, I think it’s fried catfish huge and loaded with flavor, even the lettuce and tomatoes taste super fresh and the cheese is to die for that they use, I always grab a cup of chili, it comes with the tricolored chips cheese pico de gallo and you can get jalapenos or other toppings but I think it is just fine by itself! Meaty goodness Yum Yum Yum! next up is the pork whether a hard or soft tacos they are just delicious you can never go wrong with the ballpark nachos but if you are watching your waist the healthiest thing is probably the taco salad minus the shell add on chicken it’s really delicious and the French dressing believe it or not makes it! The staff are always courteous the place is always clean and they are open all night you cannot go wrong, add this to your list if you would like to take your significant other out with the guys or girls or just need something quick on the go to get your Mexican munchies fix espec. when u work the night shift like me!

open late so if you are in the mood for ok mexican food and a drink, this place will do. Food takes between 12 – 15 minutes to serve. they have a variety of traditional mexican dishes and they put a spin on some of the ordinary stuff like their guacoloco tacos. The come in two types of taco shells, soft and hard, and you choose to meat. Beef, Pork, Spicy chicken and a veggie. They have a full bar and serve a mean Margarita that will hit the spot. I recommend the cactus margarita because its just what you’ll need after a whole night of drinking and tolerating your friends.

Skip the food but splurge on the Drinks! The food was your average run of the mill taco place. Nothing interesting about it at all. The taste of most items are bland and I don’t the like the way they plate certain things. The food is now the last thing on my mind when I go to San Loco. But the drinks are delightful. I always catch happy hour where margaritas are usually around $ 6. And boy are they good. Cactus pear is my favorite so far. They taste great and they don’t skimp on the Alcohol! Two of these babies will get you nice and fuzzy and ready to start your night! Its a great place to pre game. It has a small outside seating area that’s great for the warm weather. Its clean and the location is brilliant. Its right in the lower east where there are so many bars, lounges and art museums.

This is where I go when I’m ready to get my quesadilla overload on. I love the preparation here. They don’t skimp on ANYTHING and all of the options that I’ve tried taste fantastic! There’s about 6 – 7 spots to sit here, so it can be full late at night sometimes. Nobody’s really that unfriendly at the counters and the menu is pretty damn extensive. They’ve got drinks too! Try out some of the margs when you stop by here! If you want tacos /burritos /quesadillas and whatnot and you find yourself in the LES… my advice is to go here.

I stumbled on this place while in need of sustenance and I was pleasantly surprised. This is basically Mexican food for Americans, but if you ask(and I did) they will hook your food up. The quesadilla I ordered was really fresh, and, since I was at the bar drinking some rum punch, I could see that they weren’t just reheating everything. To me it was missing some flavor though, so I immediately asked for some cilantro, peppers, sauces or anything, and that made everything perfect. It’s also happy hour from noon to 6 pm every single day – $ 4 margaritas and $ 1 off every other drink. Eating, drinking, and listening to relaxing music in here just felt good.
