Truth be told, i can be stingey with my stars. I wasn’t drinking so this place was seriously stellar. First, the brunch price was right: $ 16 includes a mimosa or bloody. Second, the place is nice: spacious, well decorated, cozy without the kitsch. Third, the waitress was damn pleasant. Not annoyingly perky but genuinely in a good mood. And finally, the food… The open face BLT rocked my world. Atop thick, crusty, rustic bread was the most flavorful tomato jam(it was more like tomato sauce concentrate which sounds weird but was freakin delicious), arugula, thick slices of perfectly cooked bacon and a sunny side up egg. Each bite was like a savory little taste of nostalgia. Who didn’t love dunking their bread in the egg yolk as a kid?! But that play on tomato gives it your grown-up depth. Mmmmm… Burgers are burgers, right? NOPE! This thuder was perfectly cooked and had the bun to match. And the fries were gloriously fresh and thick. Thank goodness for friends who share because the lemon ricotta waffles were worth every calorie. Paired with huckleberry jam, fresh whipped cream, and real maple syrup, the sugar coma was warranted. Fresh, flavorful, great staff, fantastic ambiance… Row House is a very welcome addition to the scene.

I dined this particular evening/soft opening with 2 – 3 tables of friends celebrating the holiday season and kicking off my early birthday celebration. The owner introduced himself and brought over a round of champagne for all of us and we got the party started! As we placed our various orders we leaned on the server for recommendations. I went with an appetizer — stuffed mushrooms. Eventually each person’s appetizer and/or entrée was delivered, except for my stuffed mushrooms. I checked with the server and other staff who assured me that it was on its way. 10 minutes into everyone else’s meal, I got my order… it was room temperature. Not one to send food back or engage in an awkward dining experience because I want to avoid all potential horror stories, I sweetly asked the server if he could warm my dish. He apologized. Two check-ins later he returned and delivered my hot appetizer with a smile, apology, said it’d be on the house! Thanks Row House.

«Where should we go?» «Well, there’s. Harlem Tavern, you like that place…» «Ehhhh…» I’ll make a disclaimer, I do LOVE the Harlem Tavern. But I’m always waiting for one other comparable choice to pop up in this neck of the woods, so phone convos don’t end with«I guess we’ll go to the Harlem tavern.» The whitewashed corner this place sits on looks appropriately«classy, chic, chill»(as another Unilocaler mentioned,) & inside its a little bit neighborhoodly spot by way of TVs showing the game over the bar, and the fact that the manager seemed to recognize and come talk to my friend who lives nearby and was there for the third time that week. Its also a bit club-by by way of the itty bitty hostess and very large bouncer at hostess stand, and waiter telling the girls sitting next to us to stick around and head to the lounge downstairs. It’s also, of course, a small plates(and a few large plates) new american cuisine restaurant, chicly decorated with red blue and green glass bottles. The food was good; I had Mac and cheese and my friend had scallops. The Mac and cheese was cheesy and had a nice crust on top — it was the sort of place where I did ask for a bottle of hot sauce cuz the Mac and cheese needed a little more heat. So I liked this place better for atmosphere and the drink(«mellow feeling«) I had than the food. That said, there was a red velvet ice cream sandwich it took all my will power not to order. Those same«stay for the club downstairs, ladies» girls next to us ordered it and it looked amazing. And any Mac and cheese can always use a side of hot sauce IMO anyhow.

This place opened up across the street from my apartment a couple weeks ago so I had to check it out. It feels like a mix of a nicer sports bar and mid-range dining, I don’t know I can’t figure out what clientele they are aiming for. The menu is snazzed up American bistro food tapas style. We ordered the shrimp and grits, chicken wings, artichokes, dumplings, and octopus. The plating was really pretty but the flavors were just a B. The chicken wings have to go– no good. My favorite was the artichokes. I would say this place is decent but forgettable– no real personality. The service was excellent though, our(Australian?) server was a doll.

My new favorite place in Harlem. The drinks are strong, the food was great and the service was awesome. I had the red sangria which you wouldn’t think would be strong, but it was extremely tasty. The blue crab cakes are to die for. Same with the Mac and cheese and the short ribs. There were so many great options on the menu, I can’t wait to go back. Oh, and the red velvet ice cream cookies Definitely a place to try if you haven’t. Be sure to make reservations.

$ 15.95BRUNCH!!! $ 15.95BRUNCH w/your choice of drink… need I say more! The brunch menu has a tasteful variety of dishes like shrimp n’ grits, blue crab eggs benedict, truffle grilled cheese, etc. I had the brioche Nutella stuffed banana foster m French toast. At first glance you may wonder, what is this block shaped bread before me !! To my surprise it was moist and cooked perfectly. To me there wasn’t enough Nutella to be considered stuffed. I will dine again just to try the other dish. Overall the meal didn’t wow me but for the price it was great. The ambience and décor are outstanding. A very calm and inviting environment. Nice place to catch up with friends. The staff is just as marvelous!

Excellent service, with a food that reaches balance between sophistication and simplicity. The brunch menu makes for a very good option in Harlem. Be sure to try the S’mores!

VERY loud is the first impression. I had to yell for my husband to hear me across the table. Went last night(Friday) and after a long week a bit of relaxation mixed with pleasure it what one would hope for. They do not have enough wait staff so you have to really be on high alert to spot your waiter and then tackle them to get in your order. Our waiter with a British accent was pleasant enough for the 10 seconds he spent with us on every encounter. The food was decent/edible. They are going for the fresh organic type stuff except most of the dishes on the menu were not what one would call health promoting. There seemed to be multiple gluten-containing dishes with high fat like 2 or 3 types of mac and cheese and stuffed fried chicken(does it really make a difference to your health if these are organic and free range???) The kale salad was very good and had a few cinnamon crusted pecans. The Burrata on a thick slice of toast was reasonable in quality. Main courses of Fish tacos(with cod and jicuma slaw) was a bit flat and the Papparadelle Bolognese was not very tomato-ey or spicy(used siracha and Franks hot sauce) and it was a little pricey($ 21 for the full portion of noodles and ground beef) The cocktails were real. Yes. I do say real. Some restaurants the portion of liquor is so scant you wonder if there is any at all in the drink and if it weren’t for the Winter Sangria this rating would have 2 stars. This is the new kid on the block and its nice to have choices. Try it out but bring your earplugs and a lasso to get to the wait staff.

Swam up the creek from BK to Harlem to try this new spot in Harlem. And I must admit I was very impressed. Reservations: highly recommend because it’s a new spot people are coming in left and right especially on the weekends. Setting: very nice upscale grown and sexy feel. Low lights with table candles. Top hits playing in the background. The noise level can get kind of loud because of the larger parties trying to talk over one another but still do able. Menu: Starting with the drink menu they have drinks based off of popular song lyrics like gin and juice for snoop and others like the world renowned Michael Jackson. There are also a number wines and beers. We went with the winter sangria which was amazing strong but very flavorful. The food menu is seasonal and changes based on the 4 seasons, meaning not only something new but fresh as well. There are what they call there tapas which are good for sharing and the entrée side. I had the short rib, stuffed chicken wings, Mac and cheese and crab cakes. The short rib was very tender well seasoned and accompanied by potatoes, carrots and Brussels sprouts in a black truffle wine sauce. A lot more food than I thought it was going to be. Crab cakes were really good. The wings felt like it was missing taste or salt and spice that should have been a little bit more prevalent with the sausage it was stuffed with. The Mac and cheese was great and large portion. Staff: I haven’t had a server that knows their stuff in a very long time I wish I got his name but he was very informative of the description of the dishes from the continents to the Time they left the meat to tenderize. Overall I will surely be going back to see what the other seasons have in store! There is also a bar/lounge downstairs that seems like some fun.

What a great new addition to restaurant row in Harlem. The food is delicious and priced well. The bar area is spacious and large enough for groups. The wait staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I look forward to returning.

Disclaimer: I got takeout, so I don’t know if the waitstaff or bartenders are any good — but the food is VERY good. It even held up to a seven-block walk in freezing weather. We got the carbonara dumplings, miniature meatballs with honey-sriracha sauce, pig in a blanket, pappardelle Bolognese, fries, and the pumpkin-ricotta doughnuts for dessert. The bad: When they packed the order, they forgot two items — the rice cakes for the meatballs and the black truffle aioli for the fries(which I’m very sad not to have tasted). The mediocre: The order was packed fairly well, though the meatballs leaked a little into the plastic bag. The good: The food was delicious! Couldn’t get enough of the pasta(note: the sauce is very Bolognese but not very ragu). The fries were made extra-crispy per my request. The pig in a blanket was tasty, but the carbonara dumplings were GREAT — deliciously crisp on the outside, creamy goodness on the inside. The meatballs were forgettable. The doughnuts were lovely and I wish I’d left more room for them. Bottom line: Will definitely be ordering from here again, and hope to dine in very soon.

Happened upon this place by accident. The menu reminded me of a diner(something for everyone) We were greeted by friendly staff our waitress was Rochelle who was amazing. She was bright, friendly and knowledgeable about almost everything on the menu. Service was impeccable she checked on us several times and made sure that our drinks were refreshed. The restaurant décor was beautiful, well lit and clean. The place was bustling for a Monday evening. We ordered the ribeye and the short rib. The only downside was that the menu has two different veggie options between the two meats but they were still amazing. The steak was perfectly cooked and the short rib was melt in your mouth delicious. Definitely worth it

Good for this hood. Sat at the bar, was with two other people. Pappardelle Bolognese here was better than the one I tried up the street at Vinateria(because the pasta had the right bite to it). Gin and tonic was great. Everyone else’s meals looked decent, thoughtfully plated for how quickly the food was served. Barkeep(Corinne? Corrina?) was friendly. Best part about it was the relaxed atmosphere. I showed up kind of slobby looking and was still treated like a human. Also didn’t feel cramped in at the bar.

Brunch on the first Sunday of 2016: not too hectic. Beautiful décor and clean bathrooms. Truffle grilled cheese was delicious. Coffee that came with brunch entrée was bottomless — not sure if the mimosas are too. Service was enthusiastic, kind and attentive. Excited to return to try the desserts hidden in the back of the drink menu!

I went up to Harlem to see a friend. We walked by the place, definitely a nice place to relax. Very warm feeling inside. I tried the tuna tartare, it was excellent. I also got the fish tacos and ordered the Ribeye which was cooked perfectly. Service was great. After dinner we went down to the lounge and had drinks. What an awesome place to eat, chill and lounge out. A treasure for the uptown people… I’ll be rowing myself to Row House again.

As a former server I always tip and tip well, but for the first time in my life I left nothing. My omelet was dry and my greens lacked life, but the bartender, who was my server, didn’t know because he never asked. After two asks and a few hard stares my coffee arrived 20 minutes after my meal. Home fries, ordered after my dry omelet arrived, went cold and untouched as I waited another 10 mins for the condiments. When I expressed my discontent to my server, he responded«I’m alone here, so it is what it is.» In the end he knocked the coffee and home fries off my bill, but the lackluster food and non-apology, left me deeply disappointed and angry.

It’s good. But needs more time. Food-wise, the menu is solid; there’s something for everyone but not in a diner way — it’s very good food. We shared the market salad, the mini chicken pot pie(needed salt). She had the ribeye — it was good, not excellent, but good. I had the Arctic Char, which was very good. We split the passion fruit cheese cake. Overall, I’d give the food 2.5 or 3 out of 5. Let’s say 3. Service is earnest. Green but earnest. Had to ask for ketchup twice. Had to ask for a check twice. Waited 20 minutes for our appetizers. By the way Row House, on the back of an American Express Gift Card it clearly states: «Use at U.S. merchants that accept American Express Cards.» So PLEASE don’t tell me you don’t take them when in fact you can and should. That pissed me off. But like I said, service is green. So is management. What else? It’s a bit noisy — brick walls, hard floors and ceilings. But I liked the overall vibe and the food offerings are very solid. I’d definitely go back despite the bullshit with my Amex gift card.

A short distance behind them and a long way to go BUT it’s promising! I’ve been here several times and there are many consistency that are totally worth the visit. The first one, hands down, is the ambiance and vibe. Now, that being said, Harlemites bring the A-game anywhere they go so this has little to do with the actual restaurant because well.. .. that’s just how we roll: classy, chic, chill. The other half is the design: simple, modern with a slight vintage flair. Service is on point, attentive, pleasant, just social enough and all are easy on the eyes.. . yea I said it! Hey I didn’t say I’d deduct points for not being a 7+, but we do eat with our eyes, after all. All right enough of that. Now, you want to know about the food? It’s not worth writing home about but maybe it’s enough to write an email to someone. Fries, Burrata, Burger, Ribs, Steak ALL seriously delicious. The Brussels Sprouts and Lobster Croquettes.. . NO… just say NO! The cocktails on the other hand.. . I’m seriously about ’bout it. Moral of the story: Go and try it, you’ll have a good time. It’s for a date, family or friends getting together or just hitting up the bar solo.. . ya, I’m not too proud!

Have you ever walked into a place and just wanted it to win? You just were rooting for it to be a part of the winning team. Unfortunately, Row House doesn’t even rub elbows with the champs. I realize that they are relatively new and they may need some time to get it together, but bruh — this place was a sad excuse of a restaurant. A group of about 15 of us came to Row House after our holiday party at The Cecil. We were hungry, a little tipsy and ready for the second leg of our night. For starters, we were told the lounge downstairs was closed because there was a private event earlier in the evening. So it’s closed ALL night because of something that ended hours ago? Ok, I let that one pass. Our waiter comes over and takes our order. Some of us ordered cocktails, some of us ordered food, and I… just really wanted a glass of water to start out. The waiter completed his order taking task and then we waited… and waited… and waited… and waited… It took over 30 minutes to serve us cocktails even after a few of us inquired with the waiter again. After receiving our drinks 35 minutes later, our food arrived about 20 minutes after. So now we’ve been at this spot for almost 45 minutes… and 1. our drinks too forever. 2. other patrons who came in WAY after us was getting served before us. 3. I NEVER received the glass of water I asked for. My friend ended up just sliding me his. All i wanted was a glass of water. That’s it… The food — my friend ordered a burger that she claimed to be inedible. I ordered the crab cakes which were mediocre. Nothing to go crazy about. Some people thought the food was ok, others were underwhelmed. Overall, the service here is horrible! It’s not too hard to please me… but Row House failed miserably. The only reason they didn’t get one star is because the playlist was rocking. Row House was a huge disappointment.

Dinner was great. Seasonal fresh menu the crab cakes wete my favorite. I was with a party of 4 so we ordered to try as many dishes that seemed tasty to try. Great customer service. Great atmosphere, décor & music. This is a new place so they’re still working out the kinks but I will definitely be returning to see what else they have in store.
