I needed to purchase two ounces of casting grain. In order to get a price from the woman at the counter, I needed to specify cash or credit, student or Tax ID, etc. Alright, fine. However, she still wouldn’t give me an ounce price before trying to upsell me on 5 ounces because it’s a «better deal.» I was FINALLY able to get the cost for 5 ounces from her(never did get a straight answer on 2 ounces) and after doing the math I elected to go next door since even their single ounce price was far better. Upon politely thanking her and turning to leave she became very aggressive, loudly demanding, «Why are you leaving!» «I’m shopping around, thanks» «No! You won’t find a better price anywhere else!» «I did the math, thanks.»(with my calculator in hand, right in front of her — literally) «No! You won’t find a better price!» Whether her harshly pushy attitude was due to her thinking she could intimidate a student, or if that’s just normal behavior, I’ll never know — unless there’s some amazing finding I can’t get anywhere else, Ross Metals has lost me as a customer due to this type of service.
