GREAT guys with an amazing, ever changing selection of synths, vintage drum machines, guitars, recording gear, the works. Their prices are excellent too, regularly BELOW standard ebay asking prices, unheard of, especially in Manhattan! Additionally, when you sell them gear they are honest about pricing, and it goes without saying that the whole experience is like night and day compared to Armen’s down the block. Very highly recommended!

these guys are awesome. although my issue took a little while to resolve, they were extremely understanding and very helpful. ive done much business here before happily, and this week having an issue… their professionalism in addressing my agenda was top notch!

I’ve only been here a handful of times, and have nothing to complain about. Dudes were really nice and funny. I’ll be going up here for my new and used gear from now on.

They kept my synthesizer for over a week before saying they couldn’t figure out the problem and had tried everything. I googled it(first result!) and gave them the solution and they said they had to order a part and it wouldn’t be ready for a week. I took it back, but they would not return my deposit. Then I dropped it off at Armen’s Music Shop and it was ready the next day.

Rogue Music is a great store, and you’re bound to find something really cool in there. While they do have some nice guitars and basses, the keyboards and synths are really worth checking out. There’s a good chance they will have a rare piece of gear like a Memorymoog or a Prophet 10. However, they always have mainstays like Tritons and JV-1080s in stock. I have bought a fair amount of gear at Rogue, and I am always happy with the experience. My only qualm is sometimes the price on a piece of gear will be on the high side, but the good news is an employee will knock it down for you if you let them know politely. Their employees are cool and very nice to talk with. When I bought my Yamaha DX7IIFD, they threw in headphones, a gig bag, an instrument cable, and two cartridges. I try to catch the bus and head up to Rogue a few times a year, and I always come home with a nice piece of gear.

Dope little store full of quality used gear. Must stop if you’re looking for guitar pedals — great selection, especially for that. They also had a ton of synths, drum machines, and rackmount effects units. Doesn’t look like much at first glance, but then you walk around and realize they actually have a pretty legit stock of goods. Not a ton of guitars/basses, but some interesting vintage ones. Good amount of amps too.

It’s fine. Don’t expect service, or speed(esp. on special orders) or anything. But you can try out a lot of pedals right in the store. I’d just as soon order from internet dealers(sweetwater, etc) if I need something that’s not immediately in stock, though.

I know folks like to complain about the service/attitude here but if you don’t show up acting like an idiot you probably won’t be treated like one. I’ve only dealt with them a handful of times over the past ten years but have never had any complaints. I would recommend them before any other vendor for a repair job. Recently they fixed my much-beloved MPC for a real fair price and had it done within 48 hours. They get an interesting collection of used gear as well, if that’s your thing. The new space, while smaller, is a lot easier to browse.
