I have known Basilio since he was at 3way… he is always trying to help out and will work with you and your menu…

My first delivery experience in the Bronx has me sold, thanks to my trust in fellow Unilocalers and this «Bronx gem’s» $ 18 special of a whole chicken, rice, beans, platanos, salad & ginger ale.
Upon placing my order, I wished I paid more attention in Spanish so I could place my order (& not cuss out the guy on the other end, like 4 years of high school Spanish taught me). But the nicer, English-​speaking lady got me all squared away.
25 minutes later, the sweet aroma met me at my door. The chicken was juicy, but the glazed, grilled skin was the real treat. I still have to get use to New Yorker’s beans because it’s not quiet Mexican, Belizean or true DR beans to which I’ve become accustomed. It still hit the spot, however. I don’t get tostones because I don’t think I’ve had them at the right place, but their sweet plantains were decent. (I like them sliced thin & fried hard, rite before they get crunchy, so it’s rare that I get them the way I think is perfect).
I’ll definitely order again and 5 stars is on the horizon if the other menu items are as good.

Get the Passion Fruit Juice… It will change your life!!! The food is decent. The food gets 3 stars. The juice gets 20!

Steak in onions was tasty as can be, yellow rice with beans tasted a bit funny, next time we will try white with beans, i took off 1 star due to very long wait, she told us a half hour but food came 1 and a half hours later. Took off another star because the driver came and stood outside for 5 minutes without calling us and this added to our food arriving cold.

Love this place. The baked chicken is great and the prices are so reasonable. This is my spot when I don’t feel like cooking.

I ordered food from here 2 hours ago. Still nothing and it’s literally a 3 minute drive and a 5 minute walk from my house.

Just finished eating they’re combo #1. One whole chicken with a large rice (yellow we chose) Beans, Mixed green salad, tostones and a 2 liter Pepsi all for 18 dollars. (It feeds about 5 people) And it was delicious! Delivery was quick. The chicken was on point!!! Bien asado!
Good customer service. Friendly workers as well. Fair prices. Will be ordering again.

The best Spanish food I have ever had in the Bronx! Food is always on point when I order from there. The workers are very nice and polite! I would recommend anyone whose looking for a great spot to get Spanish food to go to this spot. Also the place is always clean!

Great food! The place is small and clean!!! The mofongo, churrasco, lechon, rice and beans, and flan were delicious! Will definitely come back when I am in the area. Delicious!!!

Found out about this place recently and it is great. The only thing I would suggest is to call in advance for take out. Good food, fair price and vast quantity. I highly recommended this place for none formal local dinning.

I go here for the chicharrón de cerdo which is basically roasted pork rinds with the meat still attached and I have really never tasted it from any other place that does it better. I’m a chicharron fanatic by the way I know quality and this here is truly the best!

This place is a rare gem in The Bronx. Consistently tasty and delicious food. I call this place at least 3 times a week when i don’t feel like cooking and I’m immediately transported to my grandmothers kitchen. The Rotisserie Chicken is to die for and whichever beans they offer per day are finger licking good. I’ve had gatherings of people at home where i just call Lechonera & Pollo Sabroso to feed my guests and everybody agrees that this should be a pilgrimage destination for everyone, not necessarily for their restaurant but for their amazing food! keep up the good work Lechonera!

Food is good and that’s just about it!

Good food. It’s nice having this place in my back pocket when walking to a nearby joint to eat. I have been and will be a repeat customer.
