We’ve since moved to the UWS, but this spot was our go-​to place and is excellent. Even perhaps more importantly, Henry and Kathy treated everyone like family (especially the dogs!). What a warm and welcoming institution. Henry is and will always be very much missed.

simply the best, I have since moved to the East Village but trust no one else. I am so sad that Henry has passed away (words cant quite express and those of you who know these kind people feel my pain) but rest assured, the family is still running the business and I plan on being a loyal customer.

The tailor (tailoress?), here, did a very good job on a difficult alternation. A friend gave me a beautiful, but far too roomy silk salwar kameez. The fabric was extremely difficult to work with (I’ve tried sewing stuff like this at home), and the cutting was complicated because of the pattern and how much they had to take in. Renu/​Renew definitely stood up to the challenge. The work (wo)manship on this job was extremely high, with good, tight stitches and smooth curves.
My only, minor nitpick that didn’t make a difference this time was with the timing. With dry cleaning (which they also did a good job on), these alterations took about a week. I don’t know if they’d be able to handle rush jobs.

Wonderful service. Henry, the proprietor, makes this a great neighborhood establishment. He used to own Gemini cleaners before it became Joe’s Coffee. Now he’s just up the street with a place called Renu. It’s not as cute, but he delivers and his staff are very friendly.
