Reidy Wine & Liquor

Not only is this place overpriced but nasty for no reason. I said hello how are you with no response or eye contact back from him, handed the cashier my tax exempt form as I work for a non profit and we just needed the bottles as a prop! Handed him my id and the form explaining what the organization was, and without even looking closer, started screaming at me that I have to pay tax like everyone else. As I told him, he could have said nicely, «sorry my boss won’t let me take those,» and I might have still made the purchase and dealt with the business side with my company. Instead, he went on a rant about it throwing up his hands at me several times while I remained calm and quiet. I will take my business somewhere where they are at least friendly!!! Also, I’m fairly certain it might be illegal to reject a tax exempt form for no reason, so there’s that. Plus he and I were the only people in the store at the time, and as I’m a female, and he was very angry, it was uncomfortable, so I left.

Don’t go here. Overpriced, little selection, and the space makes you feel icky. If you have no other options in NYC, and you’re dying for wine, go to a bar (or, walk over to 9^th Avenue, where you will literally pay $ 3 – 4 cheaper per bottle, with much nicer stores).
The staff is quite nice, actually, but I can’t get over the pricing. I’m sure it’s due to its proximity to Times Sq., but if you live in the area, you can walk some place else.

I was very disappointed tonight. I arrived at 10 50pm, ten mins before closing. There were a few customers in the store however the clerk refused to let me in. He would not even talk to me when I tried asking where the closest liquor store was. He then turned the light off to tell me to get lost. So rude! I have always looked past the crazy prices and lack of options because I work so close, but from now on ill take my business to 46^th and 9^th Ave where the prices are much more reasonable.

Steer Clear! This place has a horrible wine selection… only the cheapest bottles, at ridiculously expensive prices! Not to mention the fact that the shelves were nearly empty! I stopped in because it was convenient, then left empty handed and walked a short distance to the wine store on 9^th near 46^th, which was great. Please don’t waste your money at this store!

If you like being overcharged with little selection while a mexican guy stares you down with «you want the last taco eyes?» go here. They charge about 80−100% more for grey goose than I have seen almost everywhere.

This store is convenient as there are few in the Time Square area so expect to pay more for everything. Scotch +9, Wine +3−5. Great customer service though.

Great liquor store smack right in the middle of times square. You pay a couple of extra dollars for location buts its alot cheaper than drinking in the local bars. Old men serving so service is slow but friendly.

Okay store, service is ehh… The store shows you how much alcohol is overpriced. I’m glad they don’t sell all these other stuff and its pretty easy to just go in and go out of the place. After discovering other places near by. i rather just walk over a block and get a different atmosphere and same price.

The prices are absolutely ridiculous and they’re rude!
Stay far away from this place.
I couldn’t believe they were charging 36.99 for a 750 ml bottle of J&B — literally $ 15 more than Manhattan Plaza Liquor store on 9^th tween 43^rd and 42^nd (go there instead they also have a nice selection of wines.)

They don’t carry a lot of variety of wine (Gamay), but I ended up liking what I got (Tempranillo)
This place is stocked like your local store, with walls filled with liquor, unfortunately, they don’t know how to organize, or more like they organize like a fifth grader. They basically ordered by region, with Spanish, French and «California» being a region. Anyway, I couldn’t find the Gamay, which is a light body red wine (I also asked and the guy had never heard of it). Its on par with a Pinot Noir, but they simply don’t have it. I’m so bored with Pinot that I definitely wasn’t going to settle for that. So I was searching on my phone online and finally found a medium body red wine, a Tempranillo, which they did have for $ 16. The wine turn out to be great, more fruity than other wine, and I really enjoy it. I had so many common wines, gotta try something new, and that’s why I gave this place a 3 stars for actually carrying it. (although it wasn’t easy to find).
This is the place to go if you have absolutely no time (like during a lunch break) or just need to get a wine for a party nearby. But otherwise, there’s much better wine shops in the city with much better collection and better organization of the wines.

This liquor shop is smack dab in the middle of time square… amongst cheezy tourist shops, chain restaurants, and the neon extravaganza… but this precious little gem of a shop carries really affordable wine & spirits, and theres never been a wait!
I stopped in recently again on new yrs eve night a couple hrs before midnight, thinking it would be a zoo and lack of choices.
Nope! these guys think smart. I’m impressed they dont go selling NYC garb– postcards, trinkets, etc just to get some extra cash– they seem to cater to locals in the area… i know it seems impossible, but it’s perfect when i go visiting my silly friend who decided to live in times square!
