I’ve known Raquel for several years; she’s a good friend. I happen to know she grew up in poverty in Brazil, and that she’s extremely frugal. She’s also a wonderful pianist and has a piano in the store. Besides that, she has a lovely store, and all the jewelry she sells is hand-picked from all over the world. She has Berber jewelry from Morocco, and cloisonné pieces from China, as well as some Native American from this country. I never wait for people to buy me jewelry, so I’ve bought a good many pieces from her, including some sweet antique cameos. She also sells original designs, and designs custom jewelry. She expects to be retiring soon – although her landlord likes her and has gotten her to sign another lease. Her store hours are by appointment; go and see her while you can!
