WHATTHEHELLISGOINGOOOOONNNBETWEENTHESESHEETSUPINMYHOME!!! *waits for you to stop singing the rest of my go-to karaōke song* CAAUSEIMABOUTTOCAAAAAATCH A CAAAAAAAASE!!! Ok now that we got that moment out the way, onto the review. Pulse is definitely one of my favorite karaōke joints in town. While its great to have a private room to act a fool with your friends and relive some of your favorite artist’s performances/music videos, my friends and I have no problem doing that in front of strangers. Which is why we love yo hit the public stage at Pulse and cross our fingers that out vocals will bring us to our long awaited fame. Pulse has a wide array of songs to choose from with many recent hits that you can conquer on the mike. The beauty of this place is also the comradery that is created on the public stage between strangers. Feel free(with appropriate permission) to join a stranger on stage during a song that you know the words to. Dee that last thing I said? Make sure you know the words man!!! Don’t kill the vibe. Great spot and I will be coming back many many times.

I really like this place. The fact that it’s all out in the open is so much fun. I honestly hate paying for rooms, I’d rather pay to jump people in the line ;) I love the drinks and the people I’ve met here are always co cool.

I don’t usually do/like karaōke for very long. But I had a grand time at PK, highly thanks to the AMAZING Shoshana, and the really solid private room deals! Really affordable 2-hr open bar private room options, and solid fried food options, which come with the open bar/room deal. Good selection of songs, okay mics in the private room and lounge, love that Shoshana could get funky with the lights and smoke, cool that the private rooms had funky light controls, and just had a darned fine time for about three-hours straight(new karaōke record for me!) Recommended!

I’ve been wanting to book a birthday party here in a private room for about 3 or 4 weeks. Left 3 voicemails and 2 online reservations. Even messaged them on Facebook! I even went as far as to drive to the city to talk to the owner because their website says they have office hours for reservations. Turns out no one was there either. Impossible and ridiculous that a business doesn’t respond to potential customers.

As a Karaōke connoisseur I must say Pulse is by far my favorite. The main stand out is not only to have a private room but perform on a stage in front of strangers and friends alike. Drinks are cheap and if you’re on the main stage it’s only $ 1 per song. Only downfall to the main stage is it may take a while for you’re song to come up.

Rooms are small food is awful… They give you glasses almost the size of shot glasses for your«premium» drinks… Staff especially the bouncers are rude as hell… They were screaming at a couple who were in there 60s for no reason… Obnoxious and very unprofessional… Oh and there is «no manager»… Whatever they got there money but I will make sure to send plenty of karaōke people away from this place!!!

I live this place for an event or just to randomly stop by and make a fool of myself. They have a huuuge song selection and newest songs out. You can do private or public and the reason I like this place so much is because they have a great public stage and it’s fun to rock on in front of strangers. Only thing is during busy time some songs don’t make it or take too long to play.

Pulse is my karaōke slice on the side, the one I don’t like very much when I’m sober but don’t mind tolerating when I’m drunk. Think Jon Hamm’s character in Bridesmaids. It’s gorgeous to look at, but kinda behaves like a douche, so you go every once in a while for a good time and wake up the next morning feeling bad about yourself and your life choices. The douchiness comes from Pulse’s complete inability to answer the phone and respond to emails. Any time I have tried to reserve a room or contact a live human, I’ve been met with… nothing. Thus, the only time I’ve actually gotten to enjoy Pulse was when someone else made the reservation – or when I’ve braved a walk-in. I’ve never had this problem with any other karaōke place. Which is too bad, because Pulse keeps a great, up-to-date selection of Top 40 songs, the food and drinks are above average, and the sound equipment is top notch. Don’t worry, Pulse. I’m sure I’ll drunk text you again in a few months.

I went here for my birthday with a group of friends and we had SOMUCHFUN! We did the $ 30 deal with unlimited drinks and a private room for karaōke(which is amazing). Our hostess was soooo nice and attentive! Definitely coming back again!

Need to book a private event for a company holiday party? Look no further! I hosted our company holiday party here at Pulse and boy did everyone have a great time! We even had the entire place booked out. Food: delicious! We had 6 different finger foods As a part of our package as well as 2 hour open bar. Service: great! They really made sure the night went on without any hiccups. All in all… Karaōke, open bar, small eats, great space and great staff. What more do you need for a good party?

I’ve come here twice the first was to celebrate a coworkers birthday back in July. The last time I came here was to celebrate me and my twin sisters birthday two weeks ago on the 11th of Dec. We had a private suite with 13 people which was apart of the premium package. The premium package included 2 hours of unlimited karaōke, 2 hours of unlimited premium alcohol, appetizers, and a free champagne toast we also were able to bring in our own cake and balloons! Our server was very attentive, knowledgeable, fun, and she made our experience pretty amazing!!! Thanks and we will definitely be back!

I have tried to book an event with these people 3 separate times through their online system(which is the only system, you can’t book over the phone)– they promise to get back in 24 hours but it has been weeks and I have not heard back from them even ONCE! This is absolutely unacceptable service and really disappointing considering I wanted to host a large party here. :(

Came here Saturday night to celebrate my friend 23rd birthday. We had a private room [I’m not sure which package she chose] for 2 hours and we paid $ 40 per person [there was 5 of us]. First, I will say the spot was very easy to find right next to Bryant Park and not too far from the port authority. We got there at 9pm and the main room was empty. I LOVE the look and vibe of this lounge. Had good lighting and sound. Our host for the night was very welcoming and polite. She explained we had unlimited alcohol and karaōke songs for 2 hours. With the alcohol we could pick 3 mixers, wine, and beer [but they only had Bud Light]. They had 2 books and an iPad full of artist and songs to choose from. The time honestly did fly by between singing, drinking, and laughing. Once our time was up we didn’t want to leave so we stayed in the main room for an hour or two more. The crowd there seemed to be mid 20s to early 40s. We seemed to be the youngest girls there but everyone mingled and cheered each other on. Songs are a dollar in the main room and I did not order drinks from the bar so I’m not sure how they are priced. But I had an enjoyable night. It was my first time doing karaōke and I would Definitely go back to do it again.

Check in on Unilocal and get a free shot! Generally fun times with my friends whenever I am here. Theres a stage and two mics, which go well with any duet you plan on singing. Food is pretty good and decently priced. Will probably go here again. Look out for their groupon deals.

If you want to feel like a rockstar on stage, this is definitely the place to be! Tradition has been that My friends and I celebrate my birthday(and theirs) here, every year. At least, that has been the case for the past 4⁄5 years-since we discovered the place. The service is good and the party packages are very reasonable. The food is so-so, but that’s not really why you’re going, is it? Which brings me to karaōke. They have an exceptional English AND Spanish music selection, so make your lists and be prepared to be amazed! My favorite part of the karaōke is the fact that you can either order a private room or rock it out on stage. There are two microphones, great speakers, and 3 screens. From solos to duets, or group ensembles that rival The Jackson Five, the world is your oyster ;-)

The staff here is great super friendly and they sing occasionally too! Came here this past Saturday and made friends with a number of people from the room and staff– we ended up singing songs together. It was an absolute blast! Great place to come see people sing, sing yourself or go into a private room with friends to sing!

I have been coming to Pulse for karaōke YEARS before I permanently moved to NYC. This place is the perfect mix of american and asian karaōke. There are private rooms and there is a public place. So sing away! At $ 1 a song, its cheaper than my neighborhood, the UES… and the selection is waaaay better, as is the sound equipment. The space is clean and comfy, the drinks are reasonable for midtown. If you come here looking to do anything else other than karaōke… please don’t. This is 100% a karaōke place and drinks/food is there as a decoration. Sing, my angels of music, SING!

It’s sort of a universal truth that everybody loves karaōke. And so I was expecting that we wouldn’t be able to get a private room without a reservation on a Friday night. The«main hall/singing area» was constructed in a very inviting way. There’s a non-intimidating mini stage to share with a friend or two if you’re a little bit shy. The crowd was suprisingly supportive that night. The wait for the room was not that long. The sound quality is karaōke-perfect! Believe me, any type of voice would sound nice if you use their darn mic! There are 3 packages to choose from and priced per person so it’s a really great deal. They have a fairly vast song selection, easy to use amenities inside the private room and friendly staff(S.O. To the bouncer). Though it was a little bit warm inside our room(maybe from all the jumping and dancing), the overall feel of the place is chic and trendy. Splitting the total bill wasn’t even a problem(which most establishments rarely allow). I would surely go back this place.
