False advertising. Asked for chicken enchilada soup which was on their menu and was given a rude look by the cashier. She claimed that they didn’t offer it

I have to admit I’m feeling a bit nervous as a I write a 5-star review for a huge sandwich chain. I could never, ever imagine giving 5 stars to a Subway or Jersey Mike’s or something similar. But I cannot tell a lie — I think I’m addicted to Potbelly! I crave it at least once a week and lucky for me there are tons of locations in the city, it’s cheap, and though it’s not the healthiest option out there, it’s definitely not the worst either! This location is my go-to and the line is always quick — they often have someone standing in the line to take your order right away to alleviate backup who is always friendly and smiling. The guys actually making the sandwich(whatever their version of ‘sandwich artist’ is) aren’t as chipper but I guess I wouldn’t be either during a lunch rush! I get the works on my turkey sandwich but if you’re not a mayo fan you may want to ask them to go light… they seem to have a bit of a heavy hand with the condiments. What really seals the deal for me though is their oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. OMG. It’s less than $ 2, and though it’s almost the same amount of calories as my regular turkey sandwich, it’s sooo delicious and worth it. So yeah, I admit it: my name is Christina P and I’m a Potbelly lover!

This is the quintessential sandwich spot that I frequent in Flatiron during lunch break. The food is here is pretty solid(my favorite is the Mediterranean sandwich), except for the milkshakes which do not compete with the nearby Shake Shack. Aside from the upsides(the sandwiches) which makes this a solid three star place, here are a few of the downsides: — closes at 6PM, no time for evening sandwich cravings — always long lines, and when there aren’t, staff can be slow to make the order — lack of seating and small space — no more Seamless delivery or delivery for small orders On the upside, this makes me go outside when the sun is actually up and eat a sandwich in the beautiful Madison Square Park. I also get to watch those fierce NYC park squirrels burying nuts and trying to steal my sandwich. Silver lining, people.

I went to college in Naperville, Illinois, and we had a Potbelly right next to campus, so this chain is such a nostalgia hub for me. Last week I was feeling particularly hungry for Potbelly in general, but then I got a specific urge: THEPOTBELLYWARMPB&J. I kept telling my co-workers that we had to go so that I could get my peanut butter and jelly fix, but they looked at me funny and said they have never heard of it, and that they think I might be mistaken. I realized I hadn’t had one in a very long time, though I visit Potbelly frequently. When my friend and I arrived, we got in line and I could nOT FINDMYPARTICULARSANDWICHONTHEMENU. I was so sad. But when I asked the super nice lady who was punching orders into an iPad, she said that Potbelly does indeed still have the pb&j sandwich: You just have to order it yourself. It’s on their ~underground menu~. FYI: This warm pb & j is the best damn part about Potbelly, hands down. TRYONE. Also the people at this location are super freaking nice and I would highly recommend going here. :)

I’ve been using this specific locations for about 6 months and always have a difficult order for Patrick and his team; 150 sandwiches and salads for my company’s monthly catered lunch of 80 – 100 people. The food is always on time, delicious, and exactly what I ordered. Patrick and his team deserves 5 stars! Thanks for making me look good in front of my coworkers ;)

Okay so let me start by saying that I’m from Chicago. I.e. the home of potbelly. Ive been to 100 different locations I’m sure but this was a first for 2 reasons. 1. It was the first one in nyc that I’ve been to and 2. the first time I walked out without getting food because of how rude the employees were. First I walked in and didn’t see the area you order sandwiches was so far back and I was rudely told«you order down there.» With a point. Then I was looking at the menu and I didn’t see the vegitarian option up on the menu so I asked if they still made it and she just said«yeah it’s up there.» Obviously I didn’t see it but obviously she did not want to help me either. I looked for a few more moments as she had hey back turned to me and no help at all. I went to the front to ask the person at the register maybe for a takeout menu so I could read it easier but she was too busy talking to her coworker to help me(I waited a few moments and she looked right at me, didn’t say anything to me, and went back to her convo) I will not be back again and I will be sure to tell my Chicago friends not to eat at the locations in nyc. Better to not tarnish the good feeling we normally have associated with this place.

Ehh for a sandwich shop. This wasn’t that great. I ordered the Grilled Chicken and Cheese with Mushrooms on Whole Wheat Bread. It tasted like Subway’s and to be frank it just tasted mehh. I’ll pass on this. Basically this is an overpriced Subway’s sandwich that’s much smaller.

This location is OKAY but the one in Midtown East, near Grand Central, is way better. The employees at this location aren’t near as friendly or attentive as the other. Even the sandwiches at the other location taste better… not sure why? Also– you’re better off going in and ordering. Every time I order from Seamless they forget something. Last time they forgot the tomatoes, this time they forgot the pickles. I double-checked and its written there. Employees are too rushed and don’t read the order thoroughly. Is a missing pickle or tomato enough reason to call and complain? No… but it’s still annoying! Potbelly sandwiches are good, and I’m sure I’ll be back. Maybe next time I’ll be lucky and they’ll actually get it right!

Consistently good food I come here on lunch break once or twice a week. It’s just like Quiznos; I get the turkey on multigrain. Once you get the hang of ordering(it can be tough at first learning what/where to order), all is well. Gets crowded during lunch but there is enough room to sit as many go back to the office. Prices are okay. Food is fine, lettuce is always green and crisp, tomatoes are red(which is a good indicator of freshness). So I spend about $ 10 if I get a large with an Arizona. You could get Panera or chipotle for that money but I can dig it!

I’ve known Potbelly’s from their start, and it was among my usual sandwich shops I frequented in Chicago. Their sandwiches are good and reliable for fast food, and the price is right. My usual go-to sandwiches include«the wreck» and their roast beef. In my opinion, it really is the hot pepper garnish(giardiniera) that sets them apart, and while the giardiniera is everywhere in Chicago, it’s hard to find in NY. Definitely give it a try if you’ve never had it. At this shop, just be careful in the whole ordering process. It’s like a game of telephone. One person takes your order while you wait in line, jots it down on paper. Another person starts your sandwich and sets it in the toaster. A third person asks you what you ordered and finds it among the sandwiches leaving the toaster, and assembles the fixins. Finally a fourth(the cashier) asks you again what you’ve ordered. Add-ons are communicated by scribble on the sandwich bag. My last visit, I didnt add-on anything but my bag had the wrong order written and they charged me extra. Alternative was to go back, reorder and wait for my replacement.

Surprised to get a call from this Potbelly location today with an apology and some delicious cookies. Nice to see management care about lapses in service and I trust that this incident was a one-time mix-up. Not often is it that a manager reaches out to a customer after the fact and I thought that it was a very cool gesture. I will eat here in the future.

At first i was a bit sketchy going in because of the fact that i never heard of potbellys but then my girlfriend and i ordered the chicken with cheese and bacon, a bit pricey 8 for the sandwhich but it was prepared very well and warm, who doesn’t enjoy a warm sandwhich. Anyway i would definitely recommend this place to my buddies and be coming back for sure

Honestly we ordered like assholes because we found their secret menu and wanted to try stuff without know what was on the sandwiches and the staff was awesome about it. They were working on a huge order and still took great care of us. Admittedly they got a little confused and made some mistakes, but they didn’t act like jerks and were very polite. I love this place!!!

For a dinner around 6pm, the service is a little slow, but I can’t complain about the sandwich! I got the Italian on wheat bread with pretty much every veggie in it, spicy mayo and light mayo. I absolutely loved it! I guess you can say that they are similar to subway, but I feel like the quality is way better. The portion size is smaller and little more pricy for what you get, but like I said, you can’t beat the quality of the taste. Plus side, is that as much as I like having a full sandwich, I hate when it falls apart. Here they make it perfectly where you can have everything in it but it fits nicely without falling apart. Very critical when your on the go eating while walking. Definitely a place that I would come back to.

Even though this is right across the street from where I work, I don’t really visit here that often. The food is tasty but for the price, I find the portions are too small and I am usually craving more. I usually get the Grilled Chicken and Cheddar or the Chicken Salad and occasionally one of their sweeter treats like the cookies and ice cream sandwich. My server was friendly and helpful when I was ordering, which is nice.

First time coming here and I was so confused on how to order. I think they need to fix their layout. The lady behind the counter was friendly, she assisted me and taught me how to order which was helpful. I ordered the A Wreak on a multigrain bread, am quite disappointed because they do not have a wide selection of bread to choose from, neither do they have toppings. I got my usual with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayo with a bag of sour cream and creole onion Zappos chips. When I took a bite of the sandwich, the bread was soggy dripping with mayo and all I tasted was bread. Kinda disappointing because Subway’s taste better. I am going to try their salad next time.

I really wanted to like Potbelly since it was a new lunch option near my office and the prices are fair. I’ve had their food at a couple of catered events at my office and also one time when I ate there. I was never blown away by the food but haven’t eaten it since the time I found a piece of chicken bone in my sandwich. Maybe I’ll give it another chance but there are too many solid options in that part of town to rush back, ie Press, Schnipper’s, the cluster of cheap places near Baruch College, the Curry Hill Indian joints, Essen, etc. Also, I don’t like the name. I feel like I’m being warned of what I could look like if I indulge too often there.

Solid work-lunch spot for the Flatiron district. It’s quick, relatively inexpensive, and clean. Not much by ways of seating, though. There are about 5 or 6 tables in the front area that look out onto Park and some backless stools located deeper into the shop, away from the entrance. The main draw is obviously their sandwiches. All made to order, you work your way down an assembly line process and choose the bread type, bread thickness(the«skinny» version is a thinner cut), protein, and unlimited toppings(lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, hot peppers, condiments and dressings). To my fellow vegetarians, there are only sandwich 3 options for us, but they’re decent. The Mediterranean(hummus, feta, artichoke hearts, cucumbers and roasted red peppers), classic tuna salad, and a mushroom cheese melt that looks delicious. My sister got a turkey breast sandwich with swiss on thinly sliced multigrain wheat bread and was happily satisfied. I opted for one of their ginormous pre-made salads. I will admit I was disappointed in the fact that I did not have the option to wait in line like everyone else and get my lunch freshly prepared, but the lettuce was not wilted, and that was my main concern. This leads me to think that they make their salads throughout the day and just restock the shelves when they’re low/empty. The chickpea vegetable salad was fresh, had a great assortment of ingredients, and was very filling. I wish they would use a more nutritional green, such as arugula or spinach, but for now they just use romaine. Nevertheless, the toppings that come in this salad are great: grape tomatoes, chickpeas, crumbled blue cheese, a diced up hard-boiled egg, cucumbers, and red onion. Everything is very finely chopped. The sandwich, salad and 1 bottle of Pellegrino came to a little over $ 16. Not bad by a long shot. I’m sure we will be returning here again soon!

Where did this come from? A new Potbelly Sandwich Shop that just opened close to my office! Pure win for me! Freshly made sandwiches. Perfectly toasted on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Your choice of toppings. Pretty cheap too at $ 5.50 a sandwich to start and a little extra if you add in extra meat. Around a dozen sandwich options to choose from. I dropped in yesterday for lunch and ordered the turkey breast with Swiss cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato with Italian seasoning on multigrain wheat bread. Yummers! Along with a diet IBC Root Beer and a small bag of sea salt and vinegar chips it made for a lunch of just the right size for around $ 10. They also offer daily and seasonal soups, shakes, and salads. Nice new surroundings to eat in and very clean. Cool black & white pics of old New York, boxers, and even Teddy Roosevelt on the walls. Not a lot of seating with just a long counter area with fixed stools, and small dining area up front with a few tables. Looks like they will even have live entertainment here during weekday lunch time as some of the others in this chain do. Of course, there is a shiny new potbelly up by the front. Large clean bathroom with a creepy picture in it. You’ll see. Counter staff is friendly and quick with your order. One of the better sandwich chains in the city and a step up from the many average deli’s in the area.
