Best sandwich in the city is the Italian from Potbelly’s. Absolutely the best place to go when you are hungry mungry.

I love this place, but every single time I ask for«light peppers»(ordering in store or online) my sandwiches have like 20 tiny little peppers, I’m not exaggerating. So I sit at my desk and pick them off each time and still my sandwich is nearly inedible because my mouth is on fire and my hands smell so I just can’t eat here anymore. Every single time there are more peppers than everything else. I just don’t get it… The cookies and broccoli soup are pretty amazing… wish they would listen.

Definetly like what i remember in Chicago. A regular is great just for light lunch. Ask for extra pickles. the PB&J is great. I reccomend«The Wreck» «Meatball» or «Italian»

This was one of my favorite places for lunch when I was«on the road» for work over the years, having been to the Bollingbrook, IL and Washington DC locations many times. I usually get the pizza sandwich grilled with pepperoni. Always great. I love the baked potato soup they have here too, only on certain days is it available. And the IBC cream soda. Perfect lunch

1 star because because that was the lowest options. I happened to walk in there while I was on my lunch break. I ordered the wreck sandwich and a chocolate malt milkshake, my friend made his own sandwich and order and order an Oreo milkshake. Not only did our order take forever, but also one of the managers went to help an employee that seems to be struggling With the milkshake machine. Turns out it wasn’t set correctly and he literally lost it. He started screaming saying curse words and throwing items towards the back of the restaurant. He also lifted his hands and arms as if he was about to get physically aggressive with the employee. I can’t be a customer of a place that treats their employees so poorly plus potbelly is supposed to feel like home this one definitely didn’t. Oh and did I mention that a lot of the tables were dirty with only three customers in the store and that’s including my friend and I. Left the restaurant ten minutes pass my break and didn’t get to eat. Not cool!

Came here with my classmates after a long trek through puddles of slush after the snowstorm. It’s a cozy sandwich shop with many things to choose from. I got the smoked ham with everything, except peppers and mustard. Everything is made packed to go, great if you’re on the run. The bread was perfeeeect! Crispy, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside… All the elements of the sandwich complimented each other. There’s wasn’t too much or too little of anything. I had a good first impression and experience and I will visit again.

This location is great. Very quick and friendly service. Sandwiches are always delicious. What I don’t like about this location is that I always walk into a cloud of smoke. There must be an issue with the ventilation or something because there has been a very smokey smell for quite some time. I try not to go in that much anymore because when I do my hair and coat smell like the shop for a few hours after I leave. I really hope this gets fixed. I miss your sandwiches :(

First time at a Potbelly. Was walking by and felt like a sandwich. It doesn’t say anywhere that all the sandwiches are toasted, which I’m not a huge fan of. The meat on the Italian was super salty and the tomatoes were very under ripe. The chicken noodle soup was good and the staff was friendly. I’ll probably try Chop It, which is next door, or Digg In, which is across the street next time I’m in the area. Both had long lines, but sometimes it’s worth the wait.

There was some mess up with a gift card we bought the day before but the manager cleared up the whole problem instantly. He was also very polite and understanding!!! Great customer service. Going to come back whenever I am in the area.

Why go to Subways when you can come here and get a sandwich with real chicken and veggies that you can actually taste? The price is very reasonable as well. I usually get a large chicken salad with everything and it runs me about $ 8. The hot peppers really add some kick to the sandwich. I come here pretty often and the service has always been good and quick. Great casual lunch spot.

Oatmeal chocolate chip is either their 2nd or 3rd worst cookie, depending how they baked the sugar cookie that day.

I have been a fan of this chain and think it’s one of the best fast food chains, offering taste, convenience, good quality and at decent price. Had a BIG Wreck sandwich today with extra meat and I was completely satisfied(a bit too full actually, and I have a huge appetite). The meal probably costs just 1 – 2 $ more than Subway or McD, etc but tastes so much better with more meat and better quality. This Union Square branch is well run with friendly staff.

I ordered the BIG Turkey sandwich. It was filling and tasty. On the sandwich there was a lot of turkey, lettuce, tomato, hot peppers. It was simple but good. The price was reasonable too.

I love Potbelly sandwiches and they can do no wrong in my book. Although it is a chain restaurant I always get the same consistency every time. The gentlemen at this location making my sandwich had a great sense of humor. The tables are always clean and the food is always served the way it is suppose. This location is close to Union square so it is a great place to go grab a bite after a little shopping.

It’s a marginally fancier subway. Good sandwiches but a little overpriced for what you get unfortunately. I really only eat here from time to time because it’s close by my work.

In my imagination, I thought Potbelly would make much better sandwiches than they actually did… In reality, it was just like Subway(the texture of the bread was exactly the same!). Except Potbelly: 1) was a tad more fancy than Subway 2) was a few dollars more expensive than Subway 3) had a more limited menu than Subway. Next time, I’ll skip the Bigs and go for that $ 5 Foot Long.

Didn’t expect it’s just an upgrade Subway… Kind of disappointed by the lack of creativity and lack of bread option. Hot peppers are wayyy too hot! Try to avoid! All in all, there are many more much better sandwich shops in New York. Perhaps not again. Sorry.

This low rating is more about the service than the food. I came here for lunch the other day. I got the chicken and cheddar sandwich. The sandwich was fine, no problems there. However, the service was pretty bad. There was only one person behind the counter when I went to order(it was just before lunch time). She was frantically preparing a big delivery order and was basically ignoring me and the woman in front of me in line. I waited for over 5 minutes to order with just one person ahead of me. Then after the sandwich came out of the oven, it sat there for another few minutes while the one other employee who just arrived, got situated and helped out. Sandwiches were flying everywhere. Finally I got my sandwich and went to the register. No one there. There was one girl make a shake with her back to the register, singing and dancing to herself while making the shake. Then, other random employees sauntered by every so often, glancing at me, but kept walking by(shake girl still making a shake). At this point I am furious. I just yelled out at the next person who walked by, «I want to pay». The hapless dude poked shake girl, she jumped and turned around startled and came over and rang up me and the handful of other people that had been waiting to pay. I will go to other Potbelly locations again, but not this one.

What is Potbelly? A cast iron wood burning stove derived from the resemblance of a fat man’s pot belly. With a coupon from Union Square Partnership, it enabled me either a free dessert or drink which I always opt for dessert. Service is very efficient and courteous as the counter was out of chocolate chip when suddenly one associate found one who hand delivered one specifically for my request. Whoa, now that is service! Potbelly’s version of the traditional Chocolate Chip cookie is oatmeal base ergo four stars. Blah, for oatmeal chocolate chip cookie as I want the classic original chocolate chip! Why do they taint or alter the classic chocolate chip cookie to combine with oatmeal? ICK! No food trays are utilized as the sandwiches are served in brown paper submarines bags. My afternoon lift of veggie Mediterranean sandwich at $ 6.00 was healthy but somewhat okay amid I am not a fan of wheat bread nor brown dressing sauce. This particular Potbelly is host to poetry and open-mic readings. Yes, a microphone is available on premises where visible. There is a local community bulletin board for local events and in-house events by the order queue. The atmosphere is very home-like for all things vintage and very kid-friendly. Price is very reasonable as it is a tier above the standard franchise Subway sandwich.
