— on par with the other potbelly locations — removal of one star because they have one guy behind the counter who consistently hears«roast beef» when I order«wreck on regular,» seriously.. . several times.. . they don’t even sound alike.. . — recommend: wreck on regular(w/everything except mustard), broccoli cheddar soup

The Italian with hot peppers taste amazing at Potbelly. Without the hot peppers, the sandwich tastes rather bland. So hot pepper is a must have :) Without it, I might as well as go any other deli to get the sandwich for cheaper price. I wish the tables were clean at this location. I had to clean it myself before I sat down. I would come back if I crave Potbelly hot peppers, but aside from that, nothing special about their sandwiches.

I go here occasionally for dinner after work before studying at the CUNY Graduate Center which is right across the street so the location is convenient. Service is usually pretty good. I am vegetarian and always get the medetaranian with hot peppers and other add-ons. Not a great selection of veggies but still a decent sandwich. Great shakes too.

Leaking trash dripping sludge all over the sidewalk as they drag it all the way to 35th st. when they close. Fifth ave location with dirty shop windows. It makes you wonder how clean the food prep area is. If what you can see is dirty — how dirty is what you can’t see? With so many choices why take a chance? I live around the corner and I would not trust the food! This place with its leaky trash is a blight on the community.

My wife did a mini report on this company for a business class once, so when we walked past it in New York, we had to try it, even tho there was no one else in there. Not bad, sandwiches pretty good, customer service was ok.

Potbelly is my go-to breakfast location. In fact, I think I go there at least 3 times a week to grab breakfast on my way to work. The food is consistently good. I’m usually ordering an oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar or a bacon, egg, and cheese square. Both always taste good and are filling. That said, I gave two stars not because of the food, but because of the service at this location. I have never been to another Potbelly, or any restaurant actually, where the people behind the counter have such nasty attitudes. I’m not a morning person myself, but I didn’t know it was possible to be so disgusting that early in the morning. And it happens every time I go to this location. I’m assuming the same miserable person hires all her miserable friends to work there too. I just went to this location today. The girl behind the counter — a Latina woman with dark hair — saw me walk in and immediately put her head back down to do whatever she was doing. I stood at the counter for about 3 minutes before she picked her head up to ask me for my order. She then goes on to make the sandwich, which is taking much longer than I’ve ever experienced — probably because she’s having personal conversations with the other guy behind the counter. I walk down to the register. She proceeds to yell down from her side of the counter to ask me if I want any toppings. Then, once the food was done, instead of telling me the price, she rang up my order and then put her hand out for me to give her money. No words. She then bagged my food and sat it on the counter as she continued to have her conversation. I was the only customer in the store, which is not a surprise because I am always the only one in that store whenever I go in. I guess people don’t want to deal with horrible negative energy first thing in the morning. And neither do I, so I will not be returning. There are many other breakfast options in that area. Or I will go to the Potbelly on 38th and 7th, where the staff is extremely professional and just — decent.

I’m updating my review because I’ve found I sometimes crave their sandwiches. And they try to make the line painless by taking your order in line and having a musician there for entertainment. Definitely a place I will keep in my rotation.

Been here how many times already and I keep getting the meatball sandwich, it get’s me content not full just ok. I think the other sandwiches are good but I haven’t tried them yet, maybe I don’t care to. Anyway it’s a good spot for lunch chill by yourself, friends, co-workers even those damn tourist should like it. Eat on up and enjoy.

I heard this place was really good so was eager to check it out. Sadly, I was disappointed. I got the grilled chicken and cheddar sandwich and topped it with lettuce, onion, and artichoke hearts. I thought this sounded like a decent combo, and while it didn’t taste bad, it was very underwhelming. I felt like I was eating at Subway, only the food was more expensive. Maybe it depends on what you get here, but I was not impressed at all.

Great little sandwich shop! Fresh ingredients, quick service. I had the Italian on wheat with hot peppers. I’ll definitely be back!

Pot Belly is Pot Belly, no matter where you are and that’s a good thing. Great sammich at a great price. We all had turkey and all enjoyed our sandwich. Fresh bread and quality meats make it an enjoyable experience that we enjoy again and again. Only knock here was ordering and building the sandwich took a bit longer than we’d have preferred, but the wait is rewarded with a top shelf sandwich.

Great value. great sandwiches. Pickle is yummy too. One of the best for a big size. small size is not so economical. If your hungry. and keeping the wallet in check this is awesome place.

Pretty decent tasting sandwiches located in a nice and convenient location. Ideal to grab a quick lunch for folks working close by. Has enough seating for most times, but I suspect this place is packed during lunch hours. Wish they had french fries on the side but they do make up with decent soups and chips.

During my salad and sandwich cravings this is my go to place. I love their online ordering option. I’ve ordered many many times and so far it’s been a phenomenal service. They call when they have questions and make sure they get everything correct. One time they called me to let me know that the cookie I ordered is still baking and will take quite a while. They offered to deliver the rest of my order first and will come back to deliver my cookies once it’s done. I didn’t mind and got my cookies fresh! Overall I love this location and would definitely recommend them.

Two of the people behind the counter are rude and rush you while youre in line. Not that many options for vegetarians here. The Tuna melt was not bad, i wont lie. the tomato soup was pretty tasty too – it actually had chunks of veggies in it and decent flavour. Between the small cup and the half sandwhich and a bottle of water, i spent almost $ 13. Such a rip off for DECENT food. Nothing really made me go «damn i gotta come back».

It’s unfortunate that I have to give this place 3 stars, but their tuna salad sandwich was just horrible. I ran in this little sub shop on a lunch break, and the menu and ordering style is very similar to Subway or something of the like. Their sandwiches are very well priced($ 4 – 8). They had a few places to sit, but it seemed mostly like a take-out shop. The workers were all pretty friendly throughout the ordering process. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich on whole grain bread. They didn’t ask but went ahead and toasted it. The tuna salad was just dry and bland, very similar to something a cat would eat. Yuck! I couldn’t even eat half of it. If it hadn’t been for the halfway decent workers, this would get 2 stars… how hard is it to make a freakin tuna sandwich?!

Potbelly is a conveniently located sandwich shop on 35th and 5th with sandwiches slightly better quality than Subway, but ½ the size. A great place to pick up food to-go or eat inside. During lunch peak hours, live guitar entertainment is provided. Every time I order A Wreck sandwich($ 6) which is filled with salami, roast beef, turkey, ham and swiss cheese with a selection of toppings, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, Italian seasoning and more. It’s around 6 inches, a medium size meal quite filing, but not enough to fully stuff the stomach. The line is rather long during the peak hours, but no longer than 5 minutes. The wait is not bad considering there is live entertainment. Listening to the music drains my stress away and rejuvenates me for a long day ahead. For a cheap alternative to Subway and other sandwich shops, come to Potbelly and you won’t be disappointed.

Best sub sandwiches in the city. A Wreck all the way and it MUST have hot peppers in it! The reason I’m writing this review isn’t for the sandwiches, though, since I will probably write a review for that for the Rockefeller location… The OATMEALCHOCOLATECHIPCOOKIES are off-the-chain amazing. Beats any chocolate chip cookie you’ll ever eat. At 400+ calories, this half-baked goodness is totally worth the extra bajillion miles you’ll have to run to make up for it. If you’re ever craving a cookie, just stop by your local Potbelly — who would’ve known?
