Extremely slow, Long lines … Order can processed much faster. They need experts staff how to handle it took me like 25min to get my order in hands.

I told my friends I was going to write a review for Popeye’s in Harlem and yes I am finally writing my review! This is by far the best Popeye’s I have been too. No matter what time I go(and I have been there at all hours trust me!) the food is always hot(not warm but hot) and fresh! I have never had mediocre food here. The staff is also great! They are always friendly and never rude. Even late a night when I am sure they are tired and get all kinds of customers. I have been to the Popeye’s on 14th St., 40th St. and Fordham Rd. but none of these locations beats the Popeye’s in Harlem. If you are ever on West 125th St. and craving Popeye’s you will not be disappointed!

Love that chicken from Popeyes! This is the only location I frequent often. The $ 5 box is back and is clutch for a late night snack. I definitely need strawberry jam for my biscuits. It is usually packed but worth the wait.

WORST experience ever in a Popeye’s!!! Completely screwed our order even after we repeated it three separate times. I understand you may be busy but when an order is repeated three times there is no excuse. To say they were so busy the chicken and fries were disgusting lukewarm and honestly I feel a little sick after eating only half. Not happy will never go to this one ever again.

The service is terrible. They argue with customers and don’t listen when you ask for something you don’t want. I asked for no legs and they gave me two legs. Then I didn’t get silverware with my order. The coleslaw was like soup and the mash was all gravy. I won’t be back. It was terrible.

Very good popeyes. Their food is standard popeye’s food and the staff here was very nice. They seemed a tad bit understaffed the times I was there? There was also a vagrant who was being very obnoxious and I wish they had kicked the guy out. Otherwise very good.

I always stop by this Popeyes when visiting Harlem. It’s located right on 125th street and it’s always packed when I walk in. The food is excellent and the new Popeyes 5 dollar box is a steal! 3 tenders, 2 sides, a biscuit and a drink? Heaven! I wish this place had more seating and less ratchet people bothering you with DVDs and asking for spare change 24⁄7. This place needs security so customers like myself can eat a good meal in peace. The last thing I want to do while enjoying a tender is having someone hunched over my girlfriends shoulder asking for change. The bulletproof windows ad character and the food is always steaming and fresh. Overall I like this Popeyes and will continue to keep coming. Be prepared for anything in this Popeyes and always be on high alert. You never know whose going to bother you next lol

People rave about fried chicken in Harlem even at Popeyes, so I came here specifically to try out their fried chicken. I was sorely disappointed. Drumsticks were OK, with a nice crispy exterior and fragrant, extremely moist and juicy dark meat inside. Thighs and breasts were a little overfried, and I had to pick off large globs of fried exterior. Breast meat can get a little tough as it sits. As for the restaurant, the interior décor isn’t much to look at and hard plastic chairs can hurt your butt after a while. I guess if you’re fine ordering just drumsticks, you’ll enjoy it, but the other pieces suck.

It would be a fine Popeye’s if every time I went in there I wasn’t asked by «customers» for spare change or to buy them a meal. Seems bizarre for this to be allowed to happen inside a place of business.

This is my spot! Now not everyone loves fried chicken, but everyone loves Popeyes. From their fried chicken with delicious southern breading to their Cajun fries this poppeyes holds it down. The thing I like most about this location is they are always busy so their constantly making food and your food is always fresh. They also have very friendly staff and sometime if you go really late at night they’ll give you free chicken. PS. They always have at least 2 specials, one that’s between 3.50 and 6.00 and one for like 10 pieces or more.

Best fast food fried chicken chain this side of the mason Dixon line! Booyah! Chicken tenders, biscuit and Cajun fries are amazing! Just be wary of homeless people begging for change while you’re eating at this location

I somewhat enjoy this chain. Well, I thought I did. When did Popeye’s become this bland? !

I was in Popeyes on Monday morning and noticed a roach crawling under the register When I complained to the manager he didn’t even look at me. The chicken is greasy and nasty and it stinks? The restaurant is dirty and filthy and the tables were dirty and sticky. Hardly ever see white people in there.

also, ich bin ein großer Fan dieser Kette. Ich finde es schade, dass wir ned so was in München haben. Ich wäre da wohl Stammgast. Sobald ich wieder in N.Y.C. bin, schaue ich dort auf jeden Fall vorbei.

the best fried chicken. crazy good. strange how the crack blends right in; you can barely taste it probably has something to do with the baking soda. who knows?

At this Popeyes, safety is important. Once you’ve passed the big security guard and walked up to the bullet-proof glass, you get to order and, if you’re lucky, you won’t be interrupted more than 2 times by angry former-orderers asking«Nah nah, gimme a thigh, I don’ want no legs. Gimme a thigh.» or «C’mon yo, gimme another ranch. I don’ want no BBQ sauce, I wanna ranch!» Bottom line is, this place is great. The service is awesome, the food is delicious, and the price is right. The women behind the counter are friendly, alert, and helpful. I will forever drunkenly stumble into this Popeyes for my late-night fix.

Popeyes chicken is great, point blank. But the people in Harlem love their chicken. This particular location is always FULL. I have to wait for a seat every time I go. And the area outside? Crazy and bustling. Music blaring. But what else should you expect from 125th? This is actually a location where I’ve had better service than others, and I’ve been to every Popeyes in Manhattan(yes, I love my fried chicken). Keep it going, Harlem.

Ever see somebody return a piece of fried chicken in a Popeye’s? I have. Right here. This place is a trip! I mean, every time something different; it’s like a giant fucking magnet for CRAZY right in the middle of Harlem. Imagine the DMV times one million. Now divide by zero. Priceless. The chicken? Whatever; it’s Popeye’s(I’m addicted) and given the popularity of this store, the resulting turnover rate of product and related freshness of product, this is not a bad place to buy it. Of course, if a slow moving line or a ghetto ambiance(bullet proof glass) bothers you, then grow a… sense of adventure. p. s. Never underestimate the size of a large side order at Popeyes.

I never thought that I would give a Popeyes a four stars review and yet here I am… First, I must say that walking into this place could be kind of scary due to the number of people in it at any time of the day and night. The things that you hear once inside is even more scary; but once you get to the large window and look at the posted menu(which I found quite large by the way) then I would suggest to concentrate and try to order what your appetite desire. I got my order and took it home, couldn’t afford staying in there. When I got home and got a bite of that chicken I couldn’t remember when was the last time I had that good of a chicken; it was so good that I text my friend to let him know about it. The fries were really good too, a bit crunchy and spicy at the same time. I’m not sure if it were the four drinks I had earlier that evening; or that chicken was one of the best I ever had… I must try again and see!

I’m alitlte upset with myself for ordering the chicken tenders. They really didn’t look anything like the bone-in chickens i did see across the counter, but i was trying to be less messy during my feast on the D train home from 125th st. The batter they deep fried the tenders in was too light colored, and didn’t really have that crumby consistency the regular fried chicken had. What is up with the name POPEYE’S? Why were they hiding the word Popeye’s, only using the P, and calling themselves Louisiana Kitchen? I want some deep fried Harlem 125st chicken. I know about the bullet proof windows already, I saw them when i was catching the bus over to Randall’s to play softball. You can’t sugarcoat this place with healthy food. Its not fair! It’s time for mom and pop shops to shine.

If all you want is one chicken wing, then they’ll sell you that. Mmm. Popeyes. it sure hits the spot. A little bit can go a long way here. I had dinner at Popeyes for $ 3.24. This dinner consisted of a chicken biscuit(like KFC’s chicken little from back in the day) and mashed potatoes. I really like the gravy with the little pieces of pork in it. Mmm pork. Iz spicy too. This Popeyes is pretty busy but there is no real line for the registers. The people just crowd around and push against the bullet proof shield. If you’re lucky, you’ll be next. It’s kind of like going to a bar but instead of dispensing beer or vodka they dish out white or dark meat. It’s actually pretty orderly and the sass is harmless. Seating is always available and despite all the riff raff around, this Popeyes is really clean. Oh yea they have door service too. Just pretend you’re at the Ritz. Tipping is optional.
