After trying a «Spanish» restaurant in the area a co-worker recommended Polanco. It is spot on! Authentic Dominican food with flavor, generous portions and reasonable prices. The food is fresh and constantly being replenished. The kitchen is visible and there are individual actually cooking. A must visit place.

now they have a new policy, that, if you dont want something that comes with the meal, you still have to pay fro it, and they dont let you swap it out

They give you a lot of food. What you would expect from a Spanish restaurant in the city. Shouldn’t disappoint.

Not the best Dominican food I have had but definitely decent. Great serving sizes and great prices. I had the yellow rices, beef stew, & beans. I have had a lot of great Dominican food so I am slightly picky. I will definitely give them another try.

I’d say it’s average Spanish food. It’s a neighborhood family owned restaurant and a well know restaurant in the area but not the best food. Three stars for tasty food and quality service. It’s usually pretty busy so be prepared to wait awhile for food.

Great little place to get some delicious pernil! A big old pernil sandwich is just $ 5. Just beware that they run out of it pretty early in the day, and that they close on Sunday.

Love this family owned restaurant. Don’t expect to sit and eat but the food is great, can’t beat the price, service is fast and friendly.

The customer service sucks at Polanco’s. I can not rate the food because I never got serviced after a 15 minute wait with only 3 customers and 4 staff members behind the counter. Incredible!

I used to really like Polanco but I hated going in there because they never could seem to notice that a customer(namely me!) was waiting to order. Every.single.time I went in there were rude so I just quit spending my money them. Plus, I would try to call them to request delivery and they never –ever — ever picked up their phone. The food was just alright. Not great. I now go around the corner to Grini’s when I want some good Spanish food or a great salad. The staff is nicer over there and it is just all around a better spot to eat.

I don’t much care for Spanish food, unless it comes from here. It’s good, fresh, and they actually use vegetables in things. Imagine a Dominican with a radish or maybe a carrot. I couldn’t either, until I came here. They also aren’t out of everything, unlike the other places where anything beyond Oxtails or chewy chicken is a rare gem. No petrified, brown things in a plexiglass box with a heat lamp, either.
