Plaza Diner

I ordered the corned beef and cabbage special and had to throw the corned beef out because it was the consistency of a dog chew toy. Upon reading another review here, I am glad I threw it out. I ate some of the salad that came with it and was nauseous for the next day and a half. Checking them off my list.

Horrendous service. The waitress gave me check not even two minutes into eating my meal, asked for my credit card, brought it back immediately and waited to watch me write down the tip. I tipped around ten percent which is very low for me because I wasn’t impressed with the service and the waitress openly glared at me, and took my plate away while I was still eating.

Life saver for after party drunk food but a tad expensive and I got my order wrong. Ordered an egg, ham & mozzarella cheese sandwich. I got it back in American cheese –_​– not only that $ 5.80 for it on a roll hmm makes me wonder

OMG, just called to order two cheeseburger deluxes. Asked for price: $ 32 and change! Canceled the order. In one month, prices shot up $ 3.00 each. I guess Plaza thinks it’s some kind of gourmet restaurant now.

Delivery took an hour and the food arrived cold and AWFUL. Wish I would have read the reviews but save your money terrible experience.

Save your receipt and check against credit card statement. The server added an extra dollar to the tip.

The Corned beef was definitely spoiled and so bad that not only did it make Alisa sick, but the left overs even affected the dog!

I love diners. I don’t expect great service, but just enough to get your food. This is the worst and rudest service I’ve ever received at any restaurant. Waiter walked away before I could even finish ordering. Didn’t bring my drink with no mention of it. When I asked, he laughed condescendingly. I asked for poached eggs to be cooked through. They brought runny ones. I asked again for them to be cooked through. He said nothing and glared at me. They cooked the same cut up eggs longer instead of making a fresh ones. I don’t know why this waiter was so extremely rude but I’ll never come here again. There are lots of great or average diners around. Waiter didn’t return to ask how food was, and never offered to refill our coffees. I had to bring my eggs up to him because he didn’t return to check on the table. Don’t waste your time. The place seems dirty with dim lighting also. If you don’t want your day ruined, go elsewhere.

Ordered the turkey burger on English muffin… First came on a regular bun. Turkey pattie was straight out of frozen food aisle, salty af… Hey least the pickle was ok point but you can’t get that wrong right…

This diner is OUT of waffles!!! It’s clean — the only plus. I go to a diner to eat waffles. Well if you are trying to get waffles go somewhere else. Coffee is comparable to coffee in a gas station. Apple pie was good

I can only speak for delivery!
I ordered a Greek salad (with no onions) and grilled chicken for lunch at work one day. They arrived exactly when I requested my delivery (I ordered in advance) and the delivery guy was super friendly.
Portion was big, chicken seemed fresh, and it came with little sesame cracker sticks and butter, but the stuffed grape leaves had a strange smell. It wasn’t rotten or anything, but it had this weird soupy smell (I know, I know.) which in and of itself wasn’t unappetizing, but it permeated through the rest of the salad. Meh. They didn’t give a description of what was in the salad when I ordered (some people put the stuffed grape leaves in and some don’t), so had I known, I would have asked for it to be removed.
I don’t know, for the price I feel like I could get a better salad elsewhere and know what comes in it!

Terrible service, people there are rude and the food is bad. I don’t recommend ordering from here. They charge your credit card and don’t deliver the food. Check other reviews and you will see that this happens to everyone. And they blame you when they dont deliver you food!!! It’s complete bullshit. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!

I got the bacon and egg sandwich and really enjoyed it. My boyfriend got the breakfast special with pancakes sausage, and ham, bacon and fruit. My boyfriend specifically commented that the ham was perfectly cooked. I would go back.

This is one of my favorite diners in the city. The staff and manager is incredibly nice. They make you feel like family. I am a huge fan of this place. The food is great and they really take care of you. Come to this diner. They are awesome.

I order a simple side of french fries cause they have no minimum. I get a notification that my order was out for delivery at 8:30, i call at 9:30 to see if there’s any update on my order, they man on the phone tells me it will be another 30 mins and I should just cancel. WHO TELLS PEOPLE TO CANCEL??? And he’s logic was «it good for me and it’s good for you» Ummm no it’s not cause now i don’t have any food.

I ordered a completely forgettable Eggplant Hero from here.
On the plus side, it was both edible and I could digest it. The delivery was pretty quick. But it is very unlikely I will order from here again, as at $ 8.75 the eggplant hero is overpriced, for what it is. At $ 6.75 I would say I would order it again.

I live across the street but have only been here once. I went on a weekday after lunchtime and sat at the bar. The server was very attentive and the bartender/​cashier was awesome. He made extra effort to ensure I was having a good experience. I had the Lamb Souvlaki and it was excellent. Everything else is pretty standard for a diner.

The fluorescent lights might deceive you into mistaking this diner for an adult video store, but take a closer look, and peep inside for a bite (only after getting your mind out of the gutter).
When I go to a diner, I usually do not look for seafood, but a couple of the New York City diners have pretty good fish options, and I like eating fish as often as I can. Their broiled brook trout tastes very good, and I also like the flounder with crab meat (which, I think, was a special for the day, and is not on their regular menu). The portions are generous (including all the sides), and the service is friendly.
Like other diners in the City, they have a vast menu, and is a great East Midtown spot for all day breakfast, with their wide variety of omelets and pancakes.
