Great spot for a light lunch/dinner. Had the ricotta with pistachios and honey and prosciutto with bufalo mozzarella. I over did it on the cheese but it was worth it.

I understand that this place is in a «food hall.» However, they need to either be a counter service or table service place and not a combo of both. You order at the counter and have to get the silverware and napkins yourself. Conversely, they charge you and anticipate a tip like a table service restaurant. It’s a little too«all over the place» for my tastes. That being said, the food was acceptable but forgetful and the service was spotty. The Plaza Food Hall, on the other hand, is a fabulous experience with many great options.

Slow and inefficient service(we had to beg for silverware, twice, with us as the only patrons). Their ‘flat bread’ sandwiches are made with tortilla(vs what you expect to be truly flat bread). Food quality is meh.

Please save your $$ for McDonald, need I explain more?! Pricy for crappy food n slow service. Who gives pita bread for cheese platter… they do! Waitress had to get some sauces from the brench next to us in the mid of our meal n spilled our wine n still charged us for it. I see this is how business is done here, poor management! Please educate your wait staffs with decent customer service.

Nice and convenient place to rest when you are near the Central Park. Decent coffee, salads and panini. Average price for the location. Comfortable tables good for the group of 4 people. Very friendly staff.

Delicious sandwiches. A few comfortable tables for a couple or small group. Easy access from Central Park.

I live nearby and come here regularly and I love this place! As a vegetarian, there are lots of fresh and tasty options(soup, salad, piadina, pasta). They also have very good Italian meats too, according to my dad(prosciutto, speck, bresaola) and cheeses(ricotta, gorgonzola, pecorino etc.). Not to mention the coffee is fantastic! Gotta finish with an espresso or macchiato :)

I love the Italian guys working there, they are so cute and helpful and their passion for piada sandwiches is so great. I always take my friends here after to show them the plaza food hall and we enjoy Piada sandwiches and cappuccinos. Great coffee too! They have other Italian food items(also wine and beer) but get the piadina sandwiches for a great lunch or dinner(the burrata appetizer is wonderful), and then grab a slice of Lady M cake across the way :)

I ordered the lasagna and it was still cold in the center! Since when is microwaved food considered fresh?

I don’t often get up to Midtown for lunch, but when I do– I am ecstatic to go to Piada in the Plaza food court. It’s reasonably priced and excellent food. My favorites are the daily soups and the appetizers(especially the eggplant). Plus their bread reminds me of my hometown favorite– sourdough. Just great all around.

After spending time at Fao Schwarz Toy store my family and I walked over to The Piada at the Plaza. It was so easy and quick to get there. We walked down the stairs and saw many chocies for food but we chose this one becuase of the tables and chairs. It had enough room for us to sit and spread out a little. My husband and I chose the Americana. My husband chose regular mayo while I went with what was on the menue and tried the spicy mayo. It was fantastic. My Macchiato was great. I was feeling a little tired and this helped me perk right up. Wait staff was so sweet and the place was super clean.

Holy cow what a find! First of all I never knew this cute food court was under the Plaza hotel and then to discover this little gem. Opened in 2012. Will certainly come back. I had some olives and a plate of assorted cheeses and charcuterie. Split a bottle of Italian wine with a friend. Great to hold us over until dinner. Delicious and very reasonably priced for the area.

We came here for lunch and had the legume soup, ravioli, chicken salad and a glass of wine. The ravioli was excellent(small portions though), the legume soup was relatively tasteless and the chicken salad mediocre. The bill was over $ 50. I understand that this is the food hall in the Plaza but it still does not justify such mediocre food… One redeeming point — staff were very attentive and polite.

When in New York, pretend like you’re Kevin McCallister and run around Central Park and the Plaza Hotel(after getting some sweets from FAO Schwartz, of course). When you start getting hungry, wander around the lower atrium slash luxury food court and drool over the various colorful, intricate pastries, making a mental note to try them at some point. Then, decide on a seated, full service restaurant because you just want to sit down because you’ve been walking all morning, and pick Piada, because the menu items look delicious and you just want food. Piada has simple, fresh Italian fare. Their pastas aren’t the typical packaged stuff, and neither was their tomato sauce. Great place to get something light(or hey, something heavier, if you don’t mind rolling yourself around the city), especially to refuel for an afternoon of shopping. Also, the lighter fare lets you save room for said desserts and pastries in the atrium.

We ordered 3 sandwiches all lacked taste especially their«specialty sandwich» with salmon. Would not recommend.

Delicious, fresh food found inside the Plaza Hotel’s lower level atrium near the food court. You can get a large bowl of their delicious carrot & ginger soup with bread on the side for just $ 8. I also really liked their Plaza Exclusive Piadina – salmon, artichoke hearts, and frisee tossed in a lemon caper sauce and served in a light flatbread.

SOGREAT! What a gem. Went to the fancy food court inside the Plaza. It’s basically like speed dating with the best eateries of NYC. Piada keeps company with Lady M and other top eateries inside this food court. We shared a bottle of the Sangiovese and a charcuterie board(meat and cheese). I thought the prices were really fair which is kind of rare in this city. The prosciutto on the board was heavenly. Really succulent. I don’t usually use that word to describe cured meats… but it was really high quality. Also, the ricotta. I can’t wait to try the ricotta and honey and pistachio small plate they have. The ricotta on the board was such an amazing find. It was creamy, fresh. Just the best thing I’ve eaten. The other cheese and meats were very well selected and presented with care, too. A friend had a glass of the Sauv Blanc which was also really great! I was super crisp with just a hint of sweet. It reminded me of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand — my favorite. I thought the service was also top notch. Very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Good service, good food, good price.

Very nice place for a light lunch or dinner. Staff are super nice and friendly the food was good although we arrived with only 15 minutes to closing(8pm) they were very hospitable and kind. I had the goat cheese dip which came with some sort of pita chip it was tasty and I had a nice red wine with it which helped with the strong cheese. The husby had the mozzarella/tomato/basil panini and he really enjoyed it! Will definitely come back!

Happened to be in the area and saw the great reviews for Piada and had to stop in. The owner served us our wine(very generous pour!) and we split a great sandwich. It was probably our favorite food stop of our NYC trip.

I will start this review saying I didn’t order a full on meal(as we had dinner reservations elsewhere, but that awkward hour to kill). I will append this review when I do. As I am sure I will. I ordered olives and my boyfriend had a beer. We sat and watched others sip glasses of wine and nibble charcuterie. And that was enough of a win for me. The Food Hall has needed a spot like this. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the usual Plaza bustle. But it was nice to find a nook outside the busy foot traffic of the center stalls and from the throngs of people circling for a place to sit. Oh the joys of a spot with contained seating for patrons only. The aesthetic is wooden and rustic. Not 100% dialed in, but still very cool. Small. Charming. I enjoyed the experience and would certainly go back and explore their menu more fully.
