restaurant was not busy and was seated immediately. I ordered the Tremendous Twelve with included 3 eggs and 4 pancakes — which I asked for toast instead. I didnt get 3 eggs… and sent back my toast twice because it was white both times. Manager didnt bother coming to my table… and I was too tired and too hungry to complain. I tipped the waitress anyway… its not her fault. But I wont go back.

Was walking past here early morning and decided to stop for breakfast. The restaurant was clean and not crowded. The menu had a pretty decent selection. How ever the food was not great. In the pictures on the menu the food looked very appetizing. When I got the food it looked not presentational and tasted ok

So… IHOP was very crowded on this lovely Sunday. Luckily, my friend lives around the area and knew of this diner. When we stepped in, the spaciousness surprised me. I’m used to the confined greasy spoon diners in the Bronx. This place is brand spanking new in comparison. My friend and I were lead to a back corner booth, very clean. I order scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage links, bacon, and TATERTOTS! I also ordered a separate order of tater tots just because. It also came with pancakes! My friend got a similar dish but she got cheesy eggs and a spinach omelet as well as toast. My food was very good. My pancakes were really good. They were soft with a tad bit of crisp. My TATERTOTS were crispy and delicious. I loved my sausages and bacon. My only complaint were my eggs. They were so anemic looking especially compared to my friend’s eggs. Our waitress was awesome! She was accommodating and efficient.

My first time here and I enjoyed it. I had the«Everything Omelette». Chunks of ham, green peppers, onions and mushrooms and lots and lots of cheese. I’m not a cheese luva like that so it was too cheesy for me. My son had the pancakes and turkey sausage and he never eats pancakes anywhere expect if I make them or I-hop. So I know they were good. Will be back whenever I’m around that part of Harlem.

Funny story, I love breakfast food and I’ve been to a Perkins in Pennsylvania before. So naturally when I saw the«coming soon» sign by this location, my interest was more than perked. I actually live pretty close by, and have walked by this place dozens of times. Yet, I never sat down and ate the food here until about a month ago. Before that I would just stop by to buy pies. Yes, pies! They bake a bunch of absolutely delicious pastries. My favorites are the pies. If you come here just for the pies, you’ll walk out more than happy. They’re that good. They have a good variety of both cream, and fruit pies. On to the savory food. There are many options to choose from. There were a couple dishes that stood out within my group of friends. One was the chicken pot pie. I was very surprised at how good it was. I was expecting some low quality pie, but it was actually very good. The crust was nice and think, and the portions of ingredients inside were generous. It was the type of the dish that made you feel warm inside, and that’s exactly how chicken pot pie is supposed to make you feel. The other dish was the cinnamon roll French toast platter. The cinnamon roll itself was thick, and grilled just right. It has that kick of sweetness that French toast is known for, but with a strong cinnamon flavor. Just add a bit of maple syrup and it’s perfect. The eggs, and sausages were also good. Service was timely, and efficient. The food was ready quickly, and our waitress was very nice. Perkins restaurant, and bakery is a nice little neighborhood diner. The atmosphere inside is very relaxing, and welcoming. The food is good quality, affordable, and the service is decent. If you’re in the neighborhood, and want a good homestyle meal, stop by. It’s totally worth your time. Even if you don’t have much time, do yourself a favor and stop by to pick up a pie.

Only eat here once but that was enough. Waited to long for breakfast food and It didn’t even taste good at all. Referring to the chicken biscuit platter. Just go up the block to IHOP. Why have two breakfast oriented restaurants a block within each other. Could of opened something more useful for the neighborhood.

Excellent food and the desserts and cookies are amazing, Apple pie is a must try. They take a little long so not recommended if you are on 1 hour lunch and its a bit pricey if compared to nearby locations, but the food is worth it’s price.

So yeah… Perkin’s is the truth! The service was super prompt and the gentleman at the door was very warm and welcoming upon my entry. I was also the first customer for the day as I walked in minutes after 7am to not only have breakfast, but to primarily kill time until the dreaded DMV opened up for business. My server; Caroline was super patience and very attentive. This morning I chose to dine on the Hearty Man’s Combo which comes with bacon/sausage and eggs w/potatoes and a side of pancakes. You can obviously make substitutions and I did not hesitate to do so in subbing out the pork bacon for turkey bacon, the pork sausage for turkey sausage, pancakes for whole wheat toast and replacing the carb heavy potatoes with some fresh mixed fruit. Mmm mmm! Healthier and nothing short of delicioso. Perkin’s makes a joke out of IHOP in my humble opinion and I was a regular at IHOP. The only reason why I’m not at Perkin’s more is because of the lack of a closer location. I love this restaurant and it’s only my second time here. If you want to have a good breakfast, slide through Perkin’s for a(breakfast)meal that won’t disappoint!

I had brunch here today with my family. Until today I’ve never heard of this place before. Immediately we walked in I thought I was in an IHOP. The setting, everything was like IHOP, well not the food because the food here was actually better. Although, it took about an hour for our waiter to bring out our food but it wasn’t a big deal to me because it meant they actually made our food from scratch unlike some places that just heat up your food and bring it out within 10 minutes. Anyway, the service wasn’t quite great. Our waiter was too busy to give us the attention we deserved. But the food was good. I ordered the down home biscuit breakfast with hash browns and turkey sausage. For drinks, I had the bottomless lemonade. This was a pleasant surprise to me which is probably another difference between them and IHOP. They offer bottomless coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks. Overall, it’s a nice place to eat with friends or family at a reasonable price.

First time I came in, waited for a ½ hour for my food. Generally, the food is good, but a bit over priced and the service is slow and mildly incompetent. As in, my family and I got ignored and other people who were seated after us got their food first. By the time we got our food, our coffee was cold. Staff was kind, but our waiter sat In a booth and daydreamed. I had to get up and ask her to check on my food. Months later, I decide to give them another try. My waiter was kind, staff was pleasant, but my food never came. Waited for about 40 minutes. A large family who came in well after me was served before me. Again. My waiter was kind, but the service was slow and incompetent. To the point where my waiter exclaimed to his peer – «where is his food!?» I politely gathered my things, went to the counter where I was greeted with a smile, and told the staff that I was going to leave because my food never came. All I got was an ‘okay’. No apology, no offer to change, no nothing. I am aware that people are excited to have such a new, clean, proper restaurant in east Harlem, but this will not do! We deserve better than what Perkins can offer. DONOTSETTLEFORLACKLUSTERSERVICE! This is not how restaurants should be run! I hope they do some more training, perhaps they need another cook… do a sufficient root cause analysis to find out why these problems keep occurring. All the best to the Perkins staff, I hope you take this review to heart and change.

Came here again and they have definitely picked up the pace of service, with the food still being Perkinstastic. Perkins 2.0 is here!

Ok, not that bad but not that good. Service was great but the food was not that great. Not sure if it’s the low quality ingredients used or what.

Been coming with the family on the weekends. Good food, clean facility, and even better service. The staff is friendly and so pleasant to be around. Our family always looks forward to coming here and never leave with any regrets or complaints. On a completely random note, they also always have good music playing over the sound system… a small detail, but it does make a difference.

I had whole wheat French toast with chicken sausage 510 calories… –_– French toast was ok had that typical dry whole wheat taste but that’s the same typical thing that makes you feel full faster. the chicken sausages was real good! My friend had the chicken biscuit platter It was the ish!!! Very tasty and the breakfast potatoes was so yummy I ordered a side to take home… So much for that spin class I did earlier! The place looks like a good olé down south Cracker Barrel, the food matched the visuals. I would come back the food is tasty! I peeped some patrons ordering dinner and that looked delish as well… Seems like ppl frequent the pastrys which is buy 3 get 3 free and I seen a lot of chicken pot pies being ordered… 3 negatives — took a long time to get our food think we were forgotten — the place smelled like straight up a$$ in the back of the restaurant due to the grease tank breaking… I mean it really smelled like hot greasy a$$ on a summer day! The manager kept running around trying to secretly spray air freshener, cinnamon apple air fresher at that! Not a good mix man –Perkins play the most depressing songs ever!!! I didn’t know if I was at a funeral or a restaurant just sad songs! I would not want to be here after a inebriated night out trying to get some breakfast I’m certain I would leave in my feelings bawling when all I wanted was some sausage gravy!

Harlem always got the goods. Passed by the restaurant 3 times in one day and decided it was a sign from God that I must check this place out. Glad I did. This place is a better quality, southerner’s version of ihop. Quick service and attentive waitstaff, nothing fancy or special about the décor, and old school r&B blasting that put you in the mood. I ordered the biscuit and fried chicken, which came with fries. Pretty damn good. especially with the biscuit gravy. Portions are generous, very inexpensive. I’ll def come out of my way in the city to check this place out again.

My boyfriend and I came here a few weeks ago around 9:30pm unsure if we wanted breakfast or diner. Contrary to some we had a great experience. Our server(forget his name but he was a tall, sweet, white guy) was very personable, attentive, and great on giving recommendations. Our food was prompt, hot and the portions are huge. Overall I had the same experience as I would have had if I was upstate. I’ll definitely return.

This place has great desserts! I’m seriously obsessed with lemon merengue and this place gets it right. My nephew loved his milkshake. All of the staff at this place are extremely friendly and actually appear to enjoy their job which believe me makes a big difference! Our waitress was very happy and energetic too bad I can’t remember her name but she was awesome! The prices here are very affordable. If you’re in the area or just waiting for the M60 bus you should take the time to check this place out.

I had the meatloaf which came with mashed potatoes, corn, & a roll. Everything was fine and if it hadnt been the staff was there to ask me about it every few minutes. It was a bit much but theyre new & enthusiastic about their new jobs so its to be expected. Im gonna get take out at the bakery next time. There was a chocolate strawberry pie with my name on it. Bikini season be damned!
