Setting the bar for the current NYC trends, it’s clear (when you’re in the salon) that these stylists know how to make their clients feel confident, leaving their workplace photoshoot ready.

This is a tough review to write.
I have been seeing my stylist, Christine, for 6 years, and followed her to two salons, including Pembley. She is fantastic. However, Pembley is my least favorite place she has been. Last time I called to make an appointment they said, «OK, hun, so just that you know, Christine books up super fast. So just want you to know that.» I didn’t even know what to say, it was so weird and rude. I’m not sure the receptionist should be telling people she’s too busy!!!
And the whole feel at Pembley is pretty snotty. It’s definitely not a chill place. See above for an example of that. It’s a crowded salon and there is no cell reception in the building. I have asked for the Wifi multiple times and it never works.
My overall review is meh at this point.

After moving to NYC I was in a desperate search for a good hair stylist. With all of the salons to choose from I was overwhelmed and went to Instagram to search. I came across a stylist at Pembley, Christine, and immediately called to make an appointment after seeing her work.
I decided to get balayage golden highlights and have medium brown hair. I wanted something that would grow out well but still brighten up my hair enough that people would notice I had it colored. I told Christine all of my concerns and showed her pictures of the coloring I liked. She was the sweetest and got to work right away. She spent 4 hours meticulously painting the highlights onto my hair and made sure every layer was perfect. After the complimentary shampoo, gloss, blow dry, style, and glass of wine, I was so happy! It turned out amazing and looked so natural.
I am posting this review a month and a half later and my hair still looks like it was just colored.
Aside from the amazing job on my hair, the actual salon itself is to die for. They have it filled with antique furniture and mirrors and it has the coolest lighting. I highly recommend spending your money here and requesting Christine!

I’ve lived in a handful of cities (Milan, SF, San Diego, Tokyo) and of all the stylists I’ve had, Addam is by far my favorite! He has an impressive resume and is clearly very talented. He listens to what you want, offers suggestions, but would never do anything you aren’t ok with. So far I’ve only gone for hair cuts, but I’m looking to get highlights from him using COLOR. Yes, color– not hair stripping bleach technique. I’ve never heard of anyone who can do this and I’m lucky to have found someone who is so conscious of hair health. Go see Addam! He’s also a pleasure to meet :).

Adam is a master stylist with 24 years of experience. He is the only hairstylist that I totally trust and adore. I have extremely thin hair and not a lot of hair. Adam suggested the Great Length ’ s hair extensions. I agreed and it’s made a drastic change in my appearance. I have had tons of compluments. He did not lengthen my hair, only made it fuller. My boyfriend don’t even know I have them! I have been wearing them for three years now. He highlights my hair and works with the extensions.
His assistant, Abi, is wonderful too. She understands and could perform the highlights if Adam was hit by a car.
I can’t say enough about Addam’s knowledge and expertise. I am moving to Boston. He has set me up with a stylist there but will come up to Boston and change my extensions every 4 months as he has friends he will visit. Can you believe that? He also works on Sundays which has been awesome for me.
If you are looking for a profession hair job and need advice, do not hesitate to make an appointment with Addam. I am an executive in the financial industry so a professional hair style is a must.

Addam is amazing! I have been going to him for at least 2 years now, and I will follow him anywhere! He is a true artist. Pembley is an amazing studio. Everyone was really nice. Such a great vibe there! Nothing but love for Addam and Pembley!
UPDATE!!! Addam turned me into a redhead the other day. I absolutely love it. So you know just how amazing he is… someone at work asked me if I went back to my natural color. Now THAT’S a damn good color job!

I have followed and will continue to follow Addam Moreno wherever he chooses to work — Please don’t leave NYC! He’s a brilliant colorist that also somehow manages to cut my superfine hair in a way that #1 It feels fuller and #2 I can’t tell he’s trimmed it. I have been growing out my hair for 4 years and my worst nightmare is to walk into a salon and walk out feeling like I have lost 6 months of growth. On top of all of this, he is a fabulous person and so fun to hang out with. A true artist — I waited literally 4 years in search of the right stylist — trekking back to Baltimore (where I moved from) before I managed to find Addam. Love him and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him for anything from a trim to a dark to blonde transition or extensions (did that too and LOVED them).

Only a passionate professional in their craft, can listen to you and execute your inspiration & imaginary dream into a reality.
ADDAM MORENO has done just that for me.
My first time in there, I showed him a picture. I didn’t want to sound like a ‘wannabe’, saying ‘I have to have this’, and he assured me, he understood that it’s an inspiration and something I’m attracted too.
He then proceeded to look at what condition my hair was in, execute a plan, and achieve something that would adhere to my current color and then proceed with a very simple ‘ABC’ explanation of what he was doing and what to expect. NOW, that’s an artist!
And don’t forget to pet Bacon the house pup and enjoy a cocktail on the house! Lovely ambiance here. Thanks Pembley.

Friendly and feminine salon. The stylists (almost all of whom are women except for one guy) had pretty hairstyles, not edgy or editorial.

Love this place. The atmosphere is fantastic, the premises are spacious. Friendly stuff. Steph is an amazing hair dresser.

After Jenna at Pembley cuts my hair, I wake up every day thinking «Everyone! Come see how good I look!» I get the best haircut-​to-​compliment ratio. She makes me look real good. And the whole Pembley team is such a delight. Come for the amazing cuts; stay for the drinks, snacks, and delightful staff. Keeps me coming back again and again.

After a super-​successful run on Mulberry Street as Fox & Boy, Pembley is the logical next life stage for this salon. Owner Julie Dickson has put together a staff of top-​notch stylists and assistants and has moved into a gorgeous space that will allow this business to grow and thrive. I wouldn’t have my hair cut anywhere else.

I’ve been seeing Ben for about two years now, formerly at Fox & Boy, on the recommendation of a former co-​worker. He’s really thoughtful about hair — how it will move, how much maintenance you want to commit to – and as others have mentioned, he really takes his time; an hour and a half is not unusual for a cut. I’m very happy with my surprisingly low-​maintenance bob.
I also just started seeing Alexis for color (specifically, partial highlights) and was so impressed with how natural it looked on the first go and how smoothly it’s been growing out.
I expect I’ll be seeing them both for a long time. Oh and the whole staff is really friendly, too.

I started going to their old location a few months ago to cut my super long hair into a short little bob which I have loved ever since. I do like to change up my hair quite often so I have been back a few times and Jenna has never left me with something less than amazing! She’s patient and listens to what you want, which believe it or not, not all hairstylists do. The staff is super friendly and the new space is super spacious and comfy… even the hair-​wash seats which I usually hate.
Pembley is the best!!!

I have been going to their last location for years. This new location is beautiful and very hip. Went for the first time yesterday.
I’ve had short and long hair and a multitude of colors. Patti always hooks it up. The owner and rest of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable as well and provide excellent customer service.
I always recommend this spot to new New Yorkers who haven’t gotten their regular stylists yet.

If you’re looking for a great haircut, make an appointment with Ben! This a great place with lots of friendly people who really know what they’re doing. You won’t be disappointed.

Not only do I love all the stylist over at Pembely (formerly Fox and Boy) but I will never trust my hair with anyone else (ever). Amazing stylist that have done everything for me from ombré to last minute night out in the town hair. I’ve Highly recommended to family and friends and this has become their go-​to now too. Formerly Fox & Boy, Pembley is the only place I’ll even consider having my hair done. The salon is gorgeous. The wine is plentiful. The music is pretty much always an incredible throwback jam. The ladies are lovely and a blast to hang with.
I’ve been seeing Patti for years and she’s patiently taken my hair from nearly black to the reddest red. Never was there a weird in between phase and pretty much everyone thinks it’s real. Louis Licari stopped me on an elevator once and asked if I was a natural red-​head so… And as my demands for «Redder! Brighter!» have increased and my hair has grown half way down my back she delivers time and time again. Even covered in red dye, looking like a scene from American Psycho, her arms aching from the 45-​minute blowout. Nothing but smiles from this girl!
Patti is the best. Go see her as soon as soon as your rent check clears. Sooner if possible.

The name might have changed but this place is still awesome! I’m very picky about who cuts my hair and I’ve found no one better than Ben. He makes my hair look and feel phenomenal, and the best part is after I wash it at home it still looks and feels amazing! It’s so hard to get an easy to manage cut that is still clearly a real style but with Ben I know that I’ll get just that. He listens and offers his suggestions but never pressures me to change things I don’t want to. This place is really top notch. A welcoming environment with amazing and talented staff!

Awesome new salon in Soho area! The best colorist and stylist in the world, Jackie Marie, is here and I’ve been her client for almost two years, I’d follow her to any salon she goes to!
The salon itself is very beautiful, the inside is so spacious and really well decorated with a large bar and great furniture. The staff is also super nice and friendly, which for a hair salon in the city is so rare.
Would give ten stars if I could!
