Had a peach tres leches at their bakery factory in long island city today and i was dissapointed after reading so many great reviews. Didnt know LIC location was their factory but luckily they sold me a slice of tres leches. There was a small side window bench to sit at to eat it. Cake was fresh but it lacked the tres leches usual creamy texture and taste of three milks, somethung definitely missing.

They have the best cakes ever! The tres leches cakes have a very light cream. The layers of cake are saturated with milk and obviously are never dry for that reason like some cakes I’ve tried. So far I have tried the mora and the cappuccino cakes both are very good. However if you don’t like very sweet cakes I suggest the cappuccino one. It even has nuts inside! Yummy!

Believe the tres leches hype. Try the fresa(strawberry) and the regular tres leches and thank the gods.

Orderd a cake for my daughters baptism. $ 132.00 It was garbage. The cake design was flawed and upon calling the owner he didn’t care or try to make amends for his error. Think hard about this especially since the cakes are not made on site. So, someone had to pick up the cake, take it back to where ever it was made, put on a new design and then drive it back to the store for resale. Removing a cake from refrigeration for even a short period of time there is going to be bacteria growth and condesation which eventually creates mold. How long do you think it takes to remove and redesign an entire cake. I am certified in food Sanitation and I am telling you, Feed Capy’s cake to your family and friends and they will end up in the hospital.

3 words: LECHELECHELECHE The Tres Leches here was just ridiculous. As in, it immediately jumped into contention for the best dessert I’ve ever had ridiculous. And considering that no dessert without chocolate or peanut butter has ever managed to do this, I think it’s quite a feat. The cake was just so goddamn moist and creamy. And was there some sort of creamish-frostingish layer inside? Maybe it was just the amazing creaminess of the cake? I don’t even know anymore. It was just incredible. Now…I’ll admit that I was mildly inebriated when I had this cake. I’ll admit that it was the first time I ever had true Tres Leches(though I’ve had it again in the week since I tried this one, and Capy still takes the cake, so to speak). I was also in a great mood, celebrating a friend’s birthday, and watching fireworks get shot off of a roof in East Harlem. So perhaps I was skewed. As such, I’m going to make sure to come back here, and I’ll update you guys if I find my second pass to be anything less incredible. For the time being, though, just… wow.

This review is solely for their flan. I find their cakes to be underwhelming– they look delicious but often fall flat in terms of taste. Their flan however, is to die for. I’m not a fan of super gelatinous, melt in your mouth flan. I’ve always leaned towards flan that are thicker, and have more texture. Thank you Pasteles Capy for making my ideal flan!

Yesterday I tried a piece of cake from Pasteles Capy and I was so impressed with the quality of the dough. I am from Alicante — Spain, and there is a long tradition of patisserie(pasteleria) in my region, sharing so many traditions with French and Italian patisserie. The texture of the cake and the outstanding flavor brought me back to my youth, remembering me the fabulous flavors of the birthday cakes that could be found in my region. I would like to visit soon the store and get some cakes from them.
