Literally the best bar service ive had in months. Lovely bar ambiance. Great music. Great sports. Excellent company. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite places when in the city. The environment, food, drinks and service are all fantastic. If you’re planning on dinner, I’d make a reservation. My only issue is the seating. Sliding between two tables to squeeze into the crammed booths is not fun.

High End Tavern With Unique Cocktails and Great Food I came here after work with a few friends to get some drinks and dinner and it sure did impress. When you walk into this high end tavern you will notice the large wood bar in the center and tables around it with a room in the back. There is also seating downstairs where you can get your own personal tap to continue to pour beer without having to wait which is awesome. We got drinks at the bar while waiting for our table which were espresso Manhattans which came with an espresso ice cube. We got seating in the back room and when you open you will notice an awesome menu with appetizers you can’t get enough of. We got the buffalo chicken dip and the mussels to start. The dip was the perfect amount of spicy and creamy with a great pita chip. The mussels were cooked with the most tasty sauce that we dipped the bread into. For the main course we got the roasted chicken and the cowboy chop which were incredible. The chicken was drenched in an unbelievable tequila jalapeño sauce that made your mouth water. The steak has cooked perfectly rare as requested and was delicious. in short: — Great Food — Great Service

Our favorite bar in NYC hands down. Neighborhood feel, great wine list and food. Management and staff are stellar with fabulous personalities. We are new to NYC and since the New Year we have tried many places. We come here now every week about 3−4x. This place makes you feel like family. Normally always praise the bar staff but today Jenna wowed us. She is a keeper. An old soul.

My colleagues and I had dinner at Park Ave Tavern last Thursday night at the Downstairs bar. Our Bartender, Steve, was very knowledgable and made great recommendations. The Pork chop was lights out, the Mac & Cheese was great and we couldn’t get enough of the Spinach dip. Steve was also very personable and a Magician behind the bar. We’ll definitely be coming back again.

Me and the girls had brunch here and it was absolutely fantastic ! I’m a huge fan of benedicts and they had a decent selection to chose from, I went with the salmon Benedict and was very pleased. The steak and eggs here are also good. The one thing we could not get enough of was the french toast and Nutella spread in between, it was magical to say the least!

Good food and great Service! Late night meal hit the spot! Christian was the bartender and he was great, very attentive and aware of all the patrons around the bar! Head on a swivel! Very good spot!

This place was whatever. I think more for tourists and the«business» crowd if you ask me. We tried having a late dinner at another spot a few blocks away, but their kitchen was closed, so they recommended Park Avenue Tavern. Me and the young lady shared the following: Meatballs $ 13 Humus $ 11 Mussels & Fries $ 19 The meatballs were ok but nothing special. But everything else was not good at all. The food didn’t taste fresh and was missing some basic ingredients and flavor. They do have a full bar and the cocktails were decent.

Our team came here because our alternative was going to take at least 30 minutes before landing a seat; so expectations were not that high given this was only a last minute decision. The second we stepped inside, it was completely empty so we were not quite sure either. Everyone either got the burger, or the salad. I opted for crab cake addition since someone from our team mentioned it was of decent taste. It was ok, not great. The meat was a bit blend and I felt like crab cake was too stand-alone, that didn’t make a good combo with my salad. Probably will not come back, everything was pretty much mediocre.

I would give this place negative stars if I could. A few friends and I came here for dinner and drinks after work, never in my life have I met such a rude hostess and I am a native New Yorker. We walked in and asked for a table and was told tables are for dine in only, I am sure everyone knows that, so I turned around to confirm with my friends we are actually eating only to turn around again to stare at the back of the hostess while she was speaking to another employee. Waited for about two minutes to get her attention, we only got it because the other person told her we were waiting. She took us to our table and threw the menus on it, by this time we were all annoyed, so we sat down for a minute but it was so uncomfortable after the way we were treated that we decided to leave without ordering anything. Restaurants and bars are a dime a dozen in NYC, avoid this place if you can. PS, the server that came to our table was actually pleasant.

Brunch Review: After eating bagels for breakfast the last few days, I definitely wanted a more traditional breakfast. My friend took me to this spot and said it was pretty good. I don’t know if it was his nonchalant description, but it beat my expectations and I really loved this place. I liked the atmosphere, comfortable seating with a really neat interior. Plus it was Opening Day for baseball, great time for brunch! Let’s go Bucs! The menu: I loved the menu. I thought this place had more than your generic breakfast items. Even though it was a traditional menu, there was something a little different about many of the items which made it unique and also made making a decision really tough. I was between a few items; I really enjoy Nutella and the Nutella stuffed french toast sounded delicious, croissant sandwiches would be a great breakfast sandwich, or any of the egg benedicts(ended up getting this). Eggs Blackstone Benedict. If you’re considering this dish, definitely get it! You’ll love it and this is one of the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had. Very happy with the amount of potatoes I received with the meal(we’ve all had eggs benedicts where it seems like the whole plate is minimal) and the benedict had great portions of hollandaise sauce, bacon, and a large tomato slice. The potatoes were flakey and cooked just right; enough for a little crisp texture. Thanks for the brunch, if I’m back in the city will definitely want to stop again.

This is a very cool after work drinks spot nested right by grand central. It gets crowded from 6 to 8 with commuters willing to grab a drink with their colleagues before taking the train back home. Standard selection of beer, wine and alcohol. Attentive bartender and a limited but decent size menu of variety of food offerings. Food seems to be better than other taverns around the area and is prepared with attention. If you are looking for a quiet dinner and drinks stop by this place after 8 and most likely you will find a table and it will be quiet enough to make conversation without screaming your lungs out. They have a huge party area and a bar in the basement which is very ideal for private parties. Overall a good experience and a very nice spot to hang out!

Absolutely love this place! I come here often after work or if I’m in the mood for some solid American food. It gets a bit loud and hectic in here after work, so wouldn’t recommend it for an intimate date. However, if you want some good food– this is your spot! They have the best spinach & artichoke dip here that I have ever had! It’s super rich and creamy and goes great with the warm flatbread that comes on the side. The beef meatballs are also really great and flavorful. Last of the small plates– their Mac and cheese is also divine! Rich/creamy and the bacon adds a bit of crunch. As an entrée, you can’t go wrong with the tavern burger. It’s juicy, filling, and absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend this place!

I came on a Monday night and it was very busy. I had to wait a little while for a table(maybe 10 minutes). I would have rather sit at the bar but it was packed. Their wine list and decent and they have some delicious sounding cocktails. I settled on the Decoy Cabernet and got the crab cake appetizer and the salmon entrée. The crab cake entrée was delicious! The small was quite large, the large sized must be huge. It was a lot of crab, not much filling. It was nestled atop some roasted tomatoes and had arugula on top. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The salmon was cooked perfectly and it paired well with the beets and pistachio. I glanced at the dessert menu but decided to pass. The waitstaff was nice but I kind of felt rushed. Like they want to turn over the tables as fast as humanly possible and they get mad if you linger without purchasing more food/drink. Definitely not a place to just hang out with friends. It’s kind of like, get in, eat, and get out.

Stopped by for brunch with two friends who were in town for the weekend staying near by. It totally exceeded my expectations! The brunch menu was great. I am usually not an indecisive person when it comes to food, but it took me a very long time to finally decide on my entrée. I went with the«T.E.C» which was a classier version of the staple bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. The turkey was cooked really well, and it complimented the egg and gruyère cheese. The croissant was crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The location of park ave tavern is nice and central to Grand Central. I feel like I haven’t found a brunch place around the area that compares. Will definitely be back. Also saw that they had $ 5 drinks during brunch and half price bottles of select wine and champagne!

Went for a dinner date with my lady. She got the Cobb salad. I got the Reuben. No avocado in the Cobb salad, which is strange, but they have no avocado. But it was serviceable as some of the greens were forced down my throat :) The Reuben was good. Tasty. But very greasy. I got an old fashioned. My lady got a dirty martini. Both were ok. I would’ve given more than 2 stars. But the waiter — in my opinion — acted in a not so good manner towards my lady. She asked for the check when he came after the meals and they distributed the dessert menu. He ignored her. Turned his back on her and looked at me. I said«we will just take the check» and he reacted immediately. Maybe he didn’t hear her. But it wasn’t loud in there so it seemed he just chose to ignore. Came off sexist in my humble opinion. But overall. It’s a more upscale bar with decent food. If prob check it out again. Hopefully with nicer service than described above

Wanted to like this place more. It comes down to this: the food is good, maybe even great, but it’s overpriced enough to deter me from returning. All of the items are sold a la carte, which is not a rarity for NYC, but a complete meal here does not warrant the«$$» price range that Unilocal has it listed as. I had the small crab crake and kale for my main, and my friend had the lamb burger. Everything was delicious, but in a competitive restaurant landscape, I’ve got plenty of other options where I don’t feel like I’m being overcharged.

I work nearby, so I’ve been here on a couple other occasions, but only for the bar and I can’t recall much(which leads to the conclusion that this place is not memorable). I left something in the office on Friday so I came back yesterday(Saturday) to pick it up and decided to make a reservation via open table. We got in on time and were seated in the back room– I don’t like that area at all and I would’ve asked to be moved but was too hangry to bother. There were plenty of table seats around the bar area — I guess I have to specifically note that I don’t want to be shoved in the back where there was one loud group of 8, and one couple with a baby blasting iPad game songs. Food: I actively seek out restaurants that have a gluten free menu. I remembered that PAT offered that, so I asked for the GF menu. Burger would be great but what’s with«no buns?” — shouldn’t you be offering a burger with GF buns? Otherwise, how is that a burger– it’s just a patty. I ordered the Cobb salad. First place I’ve been to that serves Cobb salad without avocado :( It was just a meh salad– nothing to sing about. I’ve heard raving reviews from friends about their pastrami Reuben sandwich– it was reconfirmed yesterday that it was pretty darn good(the toasty chips on the side– nice touch). So why the 2 stars? Service. After being seated, no one came by for a while– someone should be asking if we want anything to drink shortly upon being seated. The place was not busy at all at 6pm. I was even more livid to see two waitresses chatting it up right in front of me. I didn’t wave them down since I still didn’t know who our assigned waiter was. The menu was already on the table but I asked for the GF menu which was promptly brought. Then we ordered the drinks… We asked to try one of their drafts but I think the waiter forgot, and by then, thoughts of draft beer turned into an old fashioned. The drinks themselves were fine. There was a change in waiters towards the end of our dinner. My issue with service was getting exponentially worse after the change. Seriously, what’s going on over here– was my English incomprehensible??? He came by and asked if we were still working on it– I said«no, you can take them.» He WALKSAWAY. Huh? Why the heck did you ask then? Thought that was a fluke and then it happened again– he asked if we wanted any dessert after having placed the dessert menus on our table shortly before. We were full, so I said, «no, I think we’re fine. We’ll just take the check.» He totally ignored me and waited for an answer from the person I was with. Very dismissive. I asked for the check– why are you looking at someone else for further instructions? WTH?! At this point, I realized. Either he doesn’t take whatever I say seriously, he doesn’t think I speak English, or he doesn’t like me. NONE of which warrants this ish. I felt pretty embarrassed. Definitely left a bit bitter towards this place. There’s enough good restaurants nearby. This one’s not making it to my rotation list.

I came here for lunch on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised. First, during prime lunch hour, we were able to snag a seat(without a wait). I loved how the menu was so extensive and ranged from hummus to filet mignon(of course I had both). To start, we had the buffalo falafel balls. I’m from buffalo so I feel like I’m the only one who has the right to comment on these. Were they THE best? no. Were they good? yes. Definitely order! I also had the hummus which was tasty as well. Moving swiftly along… I opted for the filet mignon which came with some potatoes or purée of some kind(forgot) and veggies. The filet was cooked perfectly. Solid lunch spot!
