I have only ordered the grilled chicken platter from here but every Thursday my coworkers and I order lunch from Parisi’s and they all get something different and love it. The grilled chicken platter is $ 9 and comes with 4 grilled chicken cutlets topped with fresh mozz, red roasted peppers topped with chopped basil and some sliced garlic. Ask for balsamic on the side and a hero bread if you want to turn it into a sandwich. It’s enough for 2 lunches for me. Delicious and super reasonable for the price!

I could be living in Austrailia and I’d plan an annual trip to the city just to get my Parisi fix. The Dennis is easily in the top 3 of my favourite sandwiches I’ve ever eaten in the world, including places like Florence, Rome and Paris where they know how to kick out a solid sandwich. Luckily, I work right up the road and can enjoy this extremely reasonably priced sandwich everyday. WOOT!

I’m going to break slightly from the sea of 5 stars, I may get a hit put out on me, so if I go missing and go silent here, it’s not because of my lack of a 2016 Elite badge, I may be in trouble with the parmesean paisanos. The food here is astronomically delicious, the Dennis is perfection in prosciutto, the bread is world class. The lack of the fifth star(like my lack of a 2016 E-badge) is this: you can always be better, maybe it’s the cheese not being as delicious as Alleva Dairy on Grand st(or my trickle of content in 2015), or the ubiquitous Italian deli sandwich not as good as Alleva either), either way, it’s good to step back and taste the competition, and in little Italy, there are many great options. That being said, Parisi is a real gem, a standout. The signature sandwich here is the Dennis, it’s my favorite so far, I’d like to return and try the red sauce sandwiches too, the lard bread and prosciutto bread, but that is only if I keep my head above water, maybe earn back my badge too :)

Dennis the Menace. The sandwich lives up to expectations and causes pure happiness in your mouth. Boyfriend and I came in around 1pm, Monday afternoon and were very excited with the no line. When we walked into the store, there were about three other customers ahead of us so it was nice to not have to wait on a line going outside the door. We ordered two Dennises(Is that even spelled correctly?), which while devouring our sandwiches back at home, we realized was a bad idea. These sandwiches are HUGE, but so good that you’re going to force yourself to enjoy each and every inch of the sandwich. From the crispy, but a little tough french bread outer, to the breaded chicken cutlet, the thinly sliced prosciutto, their store-made mozzarella, and finally the balsamic vinegar and pesto drizzled on top, it’s loaded with good stuff from top to bottom. I looooved their mozzarella, so light and creamy. My boyfriend manages to finish both sides of the monster sandwich, but I resolve to save my second half for another time. We also decide the next time we go to order two different sandwiches so that we can split and share and enjoy more Parisi goodness.

There bread is fresh and the cold cuts amazing. Worth the wait on line.

I am very disappointed with this place. I walked 20 minutes from my office to try the Dennis but once I arrived they notified me that they ran out. It was only 2:30 pm! How could they run out so early. I then had to scramble to try to find another lunch spot. I wasted all my lunch break for this place and I was left with nothing to try. If I come back I will update.

Get the Dennis! It’s a pretty hefty sammy with chicken cutlet, prosciutto, fresh mozz, tomatoes, and pesto. Felt like I was holding a little baby… My tastebuds exploded with flavor and I might still be salivating a bit just thinking bout it. I shared half with my friend and we were full. I was craving it the other day and rushed there at 3:30(they say they close at 4 normally) but I think they sold out and were getting ready to close. :(Get there earlier so you won’t miss out on the good stuff!

Did I miss something here? Place wasn’t bad by any means, but in no way does it deserve«the best sandwich ever» title. We ordered The Dennis and, because they were out of eggplant, a tomato & mozzarella sandwich. The bread was average hoagie bread. For The Dennis: chicken cutlet was a little gross. The prosciutto was decent. For both: The mozzarella was fine, but needed salt and they sliced it like they would American cheese. The tomatoes weren’t fresh. The peppers were solid. Yes, it’s a deal in-terms of portion, you will definitely be full. Wasn’t anything special though.

This is one of those places where you know it’s going to be good, even before you really try it. I came in for a late lunch on a Friday, and there was still a bit of a line. Nothing too crazy, though, so I only ended up waiting about 10 minutes. The place itself is remarkably drab, but the smells are great, and the product that they push is top-notch. And that’s really what matters, isn’t it? A real substance-over-style type Italian deli. The people behind the counter are very patient and friendly, and you have to be patient with them, because they really don’t rush the process, but the wait is worth it. I had heard and read rumors that their famous sandwich, the Dennis, might be the GOAT in NYC. I can’t say for sure myself, but it has definitely moved up to my top 3, up there with Faicco’s Italian special and Alidoro’s Pinocchio. These sandwiches are pretty different in general though, so it’s maybe not even worth comparing. Back to the Dennis. Unreal. On a huge toasted semolina hero, thinly-sliced breaded chicken cutlet, is piled on, followed by a layer of prosciutto, layers of thinly sliced fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette, and finally, a thick layer of coarsely-blended basil pesto. Oh man. The meats are fresh, the mozzarella adds the creaminess factor, and the pesto and balsamic add the sour, yet slightly sweet acidity. The hero, is slightly toasted, so that it’s still warm and has a bit of crust, but also enough chewiness to bring it all together. Dude brah. I might be over-hyping this for you, but it was overall, a great sandwich experience. Did I mention this was the size of my forearm? Oh yeah, it was the size of my forearm. At $ 11, easily enough for 2 meals, but it was just so good, that I didn’t stop. In general, the prices are pretty good, with lard bread rolls(made with prosciutto) at 75 cents each, and other sandwiches all around the $ 10 range, all enormous. If you happen upon this unassuming bakery, get the Dennis if you’re feeling hungry. Well, actually, anything you get will fill you up, so you can’t really go wrong. I’ll most definitely be back to try their other offerings, if I can tear myself away from ordering the Dennis.

OMFG insane double chicken parm sandwich. We were in line with literally all of NYs finest… two cops, two firefighters and two construction workers… and us, a mom and daughter from Cali. We were all cracking up because we all ordered the same thing. The Dennis with red peppers. Except they each got their own and we split one. Ridiculous and delicious. Parisi proves my theory that NYC food is expensive because the portions are enormous and everyone just takes home the leftovers and eats them the rest of the week.

It’s GOOD. For $ 11 you get a Dennis; tasty fried chicken cutlet sandwich that can feed two grown men. It’s good enough that some low-baller tried to cut my line!

The Dennis is absolutely worth the hype. At $ 11, it’s a huge sub that can feed 2 people. It’s generously filled with breaded chicken cutlets, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. The chicken is heated so it warms the whole sandwich up. It’s thinly sliced, tender and juicy and the perfect balance to the salty mozzarella and prosciutto. The bread is great too. All the ingredients are super fresh and the staff is friendly too! The line can get quite long at lunch but it moves at a reasonable speed — I waited for about 10 minutes. There is no seating though so take your sandwich to the park nearby and enjoy! I’ll definitely be coming back for an inexpensive lunch in the SoHo/Nolita area.

They know their bread! It is fresh and made daily. In the mornings, you will find a very long line. That is because the neighborhood knows how good their baked goods are. Just find out and come for the bread.

THEDENNISSYSTEM D– Demonstrate Interest. Make sure to get to Parisi somewhat early in the lunch time so they don’t run out of cutlets or bread! E– Engage Physically– Once you’ve ordered and have The Dennis in your hand, you gotta get your mouth around this bad boy. There’s three chicken cutlets, balsamic vinagrette, Mozzarella, Prosciutto, and Tomatoes, and sandwiched between two amazing slices of bread. Parisi’s bread is used at other places across the city, because it really is phenomenal. N– Nurture Dependency You’re going to need to nurture this bad boy for a while, as it’s a HUGE sandwich. It’s the size of my forearm, and I’m a pretty beefy guy. N– Neglect Emotionally. By this, I mean you need to neglect the fullness that you feel when you’ve only finished half. There’s still a ton more sandwich to go, and you need to neglect that feelings of insecurity and self doubt that one naturally gets when faced with sandwich this ‘tootin delicious. I– Inspire Hope. Believe in yourself. You can eat this other half. S– Separate Entirely, Go to the nearby park to eat it, or possibly eat the other half later. The sandwich is big enough for two meals.

The Dennis was utterly delicious. I was afraid it would be too heavy, but the chicken cutlet, sauce, awesomely delicious snuck-in egg and bread overall is light and is the perfect blend of crispiness and savory flavor. The one sandwich was large enough to serve as two lunches for me.

So I finally had a chance to try this place. Seeing all the positive reviews I have to say my expectations were high. I wasn’t disappointed. I got the Dennis with red peppers. It was delicious. Also I can’t say enough about how big it was. With the trend of smaller and smaller portions for higher and higher prices in New York, it was nice to have a huge sandwich for a decent price. If you order a Dennis bring your appetite. I will definitely be back to try or some of there other sandwiches.

This place was absolutely amazing!!! Looking for lunch somewhere near by while in Soho and stumbled across this little gem. It may be little but their subs are absolutely incredible! Ah the Dennis. please order the Dennis. It has all these flavours smacking you left right and centre from the first bite! My wife went for the chicken parmigiana sub oh man did it look tasty but wooha it’s very messy and I mean VERY. So be prepared to use a lot of napkins and eat it quick! Grab your subs and go to a park around the corner about half a block away and enjoy the amazingness. Good prices, friendly staff and it wasn’t to busy when I went. Man I wish I lived in that part of the world!

A place with great character, a storied history and just staggeringly delicious and also large italian sandwiches. The Dennis was good. Genoan salami with roasted red peppers and smoked mozzarella, also good. We also got an eggplant parm sandwich, which deteriorated instantly. Within 5 minutes, the bread was a gross, spongelike texture, whereas it was crisp and fresh on the colder sandwiches. So i recommend eating the hot sandwiches right away(like don’t even get away from the doorstep before you start eating) or just stick with cold sandwiches because they’re so amazing — you don’t need hot anyway. Portion wise, 4 grown ass men were on the struggle bus at work soon after sharing 3 sandwiches. So I’d say the optimal sharing amount for most people is a half sandwich per person. I will probably come here once a week. This is amazing.
