We walked into this restaurant, as I was drawn in from the street, while walking by. The candles and dozens and dozens of fresh roses everywhere. We have traveled all over Italy with our business Crazy For Italy, where we identify places to go, things to see, restaurants, etc. and never expected to find this quality of food in New York. From the décor, kind staff, unbelievable food — everything was perfect. The food superb, the fish fresh, the bread delicious the dessert sooo good I love this place. I can’t wait to return!

What a delicious spot in the village! Palma is definitely a step above any of the surrounding restaurants, and the pasta is some of the best in the area! I came here on a Wednesday night and it was actually very full, with a wait even, so you know it’s a popular destination. The ambience isn’t a spectacular five star restaurant but it’s a cozy, romantic, looks-like-there-should-be-a-fire-place type of place. My table ordered a focaccia special as an appetizer which probably was the worst plate of the night; that being said it still wasn’t bad by any means, it just deserved, say, 3 stars. We also ordered a cauliflower with pine nuts and garlic sautée plate that was very delicious. My main entrée was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had. Yes that’s a big statement but trust me you need to get it: Fettuccine with mushrooms. The pasta tastes like the owners Italian grandma is kneading dough in the kitchen. DELICIOUS. Definitely come to Palma if you are looking for some seriously good Italian eats.

I can’t give it three and half stars so I’ll round up to four. It is not because of the food but because a. It was sooo loud in there I couldn’t barely hear the waiter speaking b. You couldn’t get through the door because the bar sits right when you come in and it’s packed with people and c. In the middle of dinner some Guy passes by w a huge garbage can ??? Anyways the service was good overall and the food I would have to say is amazing. We ordered for entrée imported burrata with eggplant. Very good ! And for entrée Gluten Free fettuccini with mushroom truffle(omg so good!!!) and the special for the night which was grilled sea bass(delicious) ! With a side of spinach. The Sea bass was so fresh and healthy. We loved it. Skipped the dessert here although I heard the tiramisu was really good. Maybe next time I come it won’t be so loud and packed with a random guy passing with a garbage can.

I went to Palma on a first date about 1.5 years ago and haven’t been able to get enough of it since. It’s a romantic spot on a small street in the West Village near multiple train lines. Everything I ever order is excellent(try the burrata and prosciutto and the meatballs to get started) and the service is top of the line. Be sure to order a drink. The bartenders are creative and friendly and if you’re waiting for a table, what better way to spend your time.

Incredible wait staff, given the group of 18 we had, and everyone arrived very sporadically throughout the evening. They served everyone a portion of every dish that came out before setting the food on the table, so that we didn’t all try to get up and awkwardly fight for the food when it came out. Very professionally done. They were also conscious about food-restrictions and made the vegetarians at the table feel considered and taken care of. The food was amazing, and I think we had ordered nearly everything on the menu. Looking forward to return for a date night experience!

We came here with no reservation after wandering around to have dinner in the WV on a Friday night. We walked by, decided to ask and immediately we were sitting in the best table, next to the window. Happy +2. Traditional food menu. Excellent ingredients and cozy atmosphere. Happy +4. The fish soup was insane. And cooked as southern Italy style, in a pot covered by dough. The special ravioli filled with super good and fresh burrata was literally like being back to Italy. Also the appetizers were really good, octopus with greens and potatoes and a great homemade focaccia. Happy +6 Service on point, amazing wine selection too. Happy+8. It’s safe to say this is one of the best dinners I ever had in NY. No discussion, best italian restaurant until now. We will return FORSURE. One of those places where you decide to have the need to try all from their menu. Thanks for making us sososo HAPPY.

Came here on a Sunday night around 8pm. We sat in the back garden which was absolutely lovely — fan of the ambience which included white roses and greenery, as well as some Christmas décor(since it’s right after New Year’s). We started with the meatballs which were tasty but not remarkable. For my entrée, I had the seafood soup which was delicious. I was unsure of how to open it at first but the waiter took care of that. The broth was very rich and there was a good variety of seafood within. I also had a nice glass of wine — I tried the SuperTuscan. My friend had the pappardelle with lamb — she didn’t seem to enjoy it as much as I did mine. Nice service — the waiters were attentive and did not rush us at the end when we were finishing drinks and had eaten all the food!

We came here for our 4th year anniversary dinner and it was delicious. I frequently visit this area and I never noticed this place, so I was surprised when my boyfriend took me to this restaurant. First off, the inside was small, but the ambiance was very lovely. We were sat in their garden which was beautifully set up with lots of flowers. Very romantic. We opted for the Arancini for starters as recommended by many Unilocalers. It was absolutely delicious! I am a sucker for cheese, so this hit the spot. For the entrée, I got the Ravioli ai Carciof and my boyfriend got the Zuppa di Pesce. They were both really good. When the zuppa di pesce came, it looked like a giant chicken pot pie(because of the top). The soup was delicious and it had a little spicy kick to it. The ravioli was sooo good. I highly recommend these entrees. Overall, this was a good dining experience. I would return one day.

Palma is one of those places I go to every visit to the city because it is just great. The ambiance is quiet, the service is great and the food it simply amazing. I’ve been here a few times this year and just finally getting around to writing about it. I recommend reservations as this place tends to get crowded especially during brunch and for the 8 pm dinner rush. Tucked away in a cute little part of New York I recommend stopping in. Cheers

Made a reservation for 11:30 am on Sunday and we were the first people in the restaurant. We were seated in their nice little garden patio in the back. Well lit and well decorated. The restaurant filled up quickly soon after. I had the french toast, which I enjoyed, and my wife had the tomato eggy thing, which I would not have gotten, but she seemed to enjoy it. No refillable drip coffee for you coffee lovers, but I recommend going here and enjoying the festive ambiance.

Went to Palma for brunch. Quite interesting interior. Food was pretty good and so was the service. We started with fried Calamari and Zucchini. Very fresh and perfectly fried. A big miss was the absence of dipping red sauce. Then we got Linguine with clams, Fettuccine ai funghi and Pasta with lamb ragu. Both were very good. The linguine could have been better with a bit more sauce. Another miss was that no one offered parmigiano. Besides the absence of dipping sauce with calamari and absence of parmigiano with linguine, the rest was all good.

The garden is absolutely gorgeous, such a respite and escape from the rest of the city. Definitely, definitely bring someone special here, or come with your girlfriends. Split a bottle of rose, kale salad, and steak between two people. That steak was some of the BEST I have ever eaten. Great sear and cooked perfectly medium rare. And I want the recipe for that kale salad, it tastes so fresh and crunchy and light and makes you think you’re being healthy while downing the wine. Only a minor blip in service when we asked for no cheese on the steak salad but we received a salad with cheese anyway. However, by the time the food started coming out, we were too drunk and happy to care.

The 3 star review is mostly based on the service we received. So my friend and I got here at 8:30−9pm on a saturday night with no reservation. The hostess was very nice and informed us they were completely booked unless they have a cancellation. Completely understandable, however we got lucky and 2 seats opened up at the bar right away, so we jumped on them. The bartender was about the rudest person I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. It was as if we and everyone else sitting at the bar had inconvenienced her by sitting at the bar(which I believe has a total of 6 seats). After sitting for about 10 min she basically threw drink menus at us, and the couple sitting next to us, and didn’t even mutter a hello. I order a water to drink and asked to see a dinner menu, and my friend asked for a wine recommendation, which basically the bartender didn’t help and just said everything is good and dry. So she served a bunch of other people before she served our water and single glass of wine. Than she disappeared from the bar for about 15 min. During the time she was gone we asked another server who was passing by for a dinner menu, who took about 2 seconds to grab one for us. When the bartender returned 15 min later(with dinner menus, so she did go get them) she literally ROLLEDHEREYES at us. In that time the hostess came up to us, and informed us they did have an available table, in the conversation I had with my roommate, was should we move to a table because the service is bad, which the hostess overheard. So we told her we would move, but then something got messed up and it ended up being a longer wait, but the hostess came over apologized and we told her it was no problem we would stay at the bar. I feel like the hostess told who I assume was the manager about our comment about the bad service, because another«bartender» appeared who was a lot more attentive to us, and basically took care of us the rest of the meal. The food itself was good, I would only come back if I am going to be seated at a table because that bartender was seriously in a mood. You do not roll your eyes at customers, that’s just not okay.

I am so sad that for my 2nd experience here I am not giving Palma a 5! I really love Palma. I love the atmosphere so much! I came here for dinner again with my boyfriend since we fell in love with it the first time around. Our mistake? We ordered different entrees this time and both were very underwhelming. Everything else was on par! APP: –Antipasto: We got this the first time we came here. Still a great choice! DINNER: –Orecchiette alla Checca: Came very luke warm. I think it was because the mozz and tomatoes were chilled, making the whole pasta chilled. I like my food HOT, so this was disappointing to receive it not heated. I’m not sure if this is how the pasta is normally served, but it would be so much better if it was hot, or it would be helpful if they informed you that it was a pasta that was served on the chilled side. –Fettuccine ai Funghi: This was alright. VERYVERY mushroom-y. So many mushrooms. The sauce also didn’t have much flavor. It was really just fettuccine with mushrooms and not much else going on. *Agnolotti agli Spinaci: Get this. We got this the first time and it’s GREAT! I figured Palma would be a spot that all entrees would wow me… but we learned the hard way with this experience! DRINKS: –Old Fashioned: good! SERVICE: –No complaints.

I read a number of NYC Blogs and all of them recommend Palma– after seeing so many glamour shots and then seeing the equally delicious photos on their website and Unilocal I knew that I had to go. We ended up here for lunch and for those who have been I would say that it is very comparable to The Ivy in LA– the shabby chic décor and plethora of flowers made me more excited to look around than eat. To be totally honest– I’ve actually forgotten what we ate. I remember that it was wonderful and although our bill came out to about $ 80– I was happy to pay because of what a cute and fun experience it was. I wanted one of everything on the menu but I was very happy with the choices that we ultimately made!

Giving it up for Palma. This is a wonderful place for an intimate dinner with a friend or two or three. The setting is NYC at its finest. The food was all excellent. Here’s the deets. Everything we tried was perfect for both of us. Antipasto, 23 — excellent, included some beautiful focaccia, and gorgeously presented Pasta, nightly special, ~23 — tuna and corn with a little spice, excellent again Tagliata di Manzo(sliced new york strip), 32 — excellent, beautifully presented with a wonderful seared finish TIP — generous portions BONUS — Beautiful courtyard dining area in the back with a retractable roof TIP — My Manhattan cocktail was $ 21 — I called the rye it was made with — but menu cocktails were $ 13. It was an excellent cocktail, though! BONUS — superlative service, friendly, thoughtful, timely, respectful, and enthusiastic about the food and your experience TIP — dress nicely or you’ll feel underdressed TIP — there are some group dining areas; the main dining areas are what prompted my comments about this being a good place for intimate dining

Without exaggeration, the service is close to perfect as possible. We were treated with much respect, received our cocktails, and food in a timely manner giving us enough time to talk and warm up to the beautiful atmosphere. The lights were dim, the candles were in full force but it was comforting to say the least. As for our meal, we began with dessert and appetizers. Our dessert was a sweet but delicate to the palate No-Flour Almond Cake which was also drizzled with the right amount of chocolate glaze; the perfect start to our dinning experience at Palma. The other delectably-delectable dessert was the Bomba, a round and large ball of the softest dough stuffed with the creamiest and lightest lemon filling that was just right and was impossble to overwhelm the palate. Our main course was the real treat. I got the Gnocchi with grilled chicken and Mozzarella; the freshest ingredients, the most perfectly smooth but not too gooey Gnocchi. The flavors were a combination that I have never experienced before but wish to have this privilege again. My compliments to the chef, you can taste the attention to detail and LOVE put into all of our dishes. Just a side note, the Foccacia bread and lamb is highly recommended!

I went to Palma with my family to celebrate my 26th birthday. We had a reservation for 4 people at 7pm on a Thursday night. I called ahead and requested to sit outside in the«garden», but it’s first come first serve and we didn’t get there early enough before my ressie… womp womp. We were seated in the front of the restaurant, right by the windows looking out into the street. So it kinda felt like we were still outside! Cornelia St. is super cute too, and not loud at all. The atmosphere at Palma is so precious. WEATE Apps: Arancini(fried risotto bites) — A must order. As I’ve written before, I’m big believer in arancini and order them whenever I can. These did not disappoint. I could probably have an entire meal of arancini, tbh. Buffala Mozzarella(specialty of the night) — This was also very delicious. Buffalo always has a special place in my heart so I obviously enjoyed this. Entrée: Lasagne ai Funghi — My mom ordered this dish and I ended up helping her eat it because it essentially tasted like TRUFFLE lasagna. It was so rich and truffly. Is that a word? I think yes. This was my favorite dish that I sampled. I’d recommend sharing it because it’s that rich! Ravioli ai Carciof — My brother and dad ordered this. It was really good, but I have to say that I still preferred my mom’s lasagna over it. However, if you’re in the mood for a specialty artichoke filled ravioli, this is it! Agnolotti agli Spinaci — The dish I ordered! I’ve honestly never tried an agnolotti noodle, but it did not disappoint! Filled with spinach and buffalo ricotta, and doused in parmesan cheese, this dinner left me way too full for dessert. WEDRANK All.the.wine. Overall Palma is a great place to go for dinner. Entrees are all at least $ 20, but that’s expected for an authentic Italian restaurant in the West Village. The service was quick, but not rushed.

Very cute, cozy, romantic spot! There were beautiful roses everywhere and along the walls and it was so aromatic. It was really about the experience. Great for dates or for a girls catch up. Ask to sit out in the garden! Food: We ordered the zucchini flowers to start which were delicious and I highly recommend! Then we ordered the basil and pomodoro ravioli. The tomato sauce was to die for. We also ordered the mushroom lasagna. Wasn’t as much of a fan. It is very rich and very heavy. Drinks: ordered the watermelon negroni and loved it. Was my first negroni and would recommend for a summer drink. Very refreshing. Would’ve given the food and the ambiance 4 stars but as were about to leave we saw a mouse in the courtyard. Makes me question the cleanliness but overall it was delicious and the staff was friendly and very authentic in their recommendations. Upon arrival, the staff did seem disorganized with reservations. It was tough to track down a hostess to seat us and we had made a reservation. Would go back though to see if it’s improved.
