I’ve passed this restaurant numerous times and never I thought of going in. It wasn’t until one evening my friend brought me some food and told me where he got it from. The food was delicious! Since then I frequent this restaurant at least twice per month and have never been disappointed since. Their grilled salmon, macaroni and cheese, vegetarian curry chunks, mixed vegetables and steamed cabbage are delicious! If you want some quick and good food stop by but if you’re looking for décor and ambiance skip it! This is not the place for a first date but it’s definitely the place for some delicious food. Oh by the way the food is sold by the pound. Yes, they weigh your food!

What can I say about this restaurant that hasn’t already been said? Not much. This is Caribbean food, weigh and pay style. You have the option to eat in or take out. All of the basics are here. Chicken, goat, oxtails and fish. Nearly every dish is either curried, jerked or spiced. Nothing very exotic or exciting about the flavors of the food at Soldier. The attitudes of the staff SUCK but the crispy, fried chicken wings are prime.

Being as I haven’t cooked since I started my new job back in September(Go corporate! SMH). I frequent this place at least once a week. the food is good. Like REALLY good. what i like most about this place is that you can have a little of everything, instead of a regular takeout place where you get one thing with like two sides. I usually get the rice and peas, oxtail, curry goat, a little jerk chicken, plaintain, and sometimes a veggie, when they look good(not to say they look bad). I used to get mac-n-cheese, but I’m cheap, and I feel like it weighs the plate down haha. this place goes by weight. i want to say oxtail is 5.99 a pound. I usually pile it in and can feed my family(2 adults, one toddler) for around $ 15 and be STUFFED. being someone who doesn’t plan on cooking any time soon, it’s nice to come here and get a home-cooked meal! One more thing, which is important to me: the food always tastes the same. They don’t have«off days». Happy Unilocaling! PS the staff is really nice too.

Had an odd combination today… Boiled ripe plantain, green banana and stew beef. Didn’t like the beef that much but it might be mind over matter; i am trying to stay away from red meat but it just looked so tempting. To top it off, I had cornmeal porridge with blended peanut. That was lip licking… Yeah.
