The good: they take reservations for brunch(rare in these parts). There is a small row of outdoor tables to enjoy when the weather’s nice, and I typically don’t have to wait too long for a table. The not so good: It’s often packed with tourists, many of whom stop in because they’ve heard that the spot was featured on an episode of Sex and the City. The outdated reference is a clue to the general vibe of this place for me, which feels like a place that was really cool and hip a few years back and hasn’t tried to update or improve anything since. The menu feels similarly basic, with items like fried calamari for $ 13 or pita and hummus for $ 12. I had the yellowfin panini last time I was there and though I’m the least picky eater I know, I couldn’t get through it because the consistency and flavor of the fish was truly unappetizing. There’s typically a pretty obnoxious crowd around for boozy brunches on most weekends, and sometimes bachelorette party groups on weekend nights. For me the service is the most disappointing part. There’s a hostess who I encounter most times I’m there who has a very hard time cracking a smile or even making eye contact as she plops menus down on the table. The servers are equally uninterested in being friendly or helpful, and are most often telling you what you can’t order on the menu. They’ve come through for me a few times when every other spot in Little Italy/Nolita is packed with a weekend crowd, but if I had my pick of the litter I definitely would head somewhere else whether it’s for food or drinks.

This updated review is for the brunch. We came here at around 2:30pm on a Sunday afternoon and was looking to watch a bit of the Giants game, so we sat at one of the smaller tables by the bar. We ordered the burger, chicken salad wrap and pancakes of the day(eggnog with strawberries!). Everything was delish! I’m usually not a sweets person but the pancakes were on point and sooooooooo flufffffffy. There weren’t too many people there but there were about 5 or so people watching the game at the bar and seems like 2 – 3 of them were locals and they were fun! I recommend coming here for their drinks and food, for sure.

Happened upon this on Open Table and was not dissapointed, especially being in the middle of Little Italy. Walked in to a crowded bar area but was ushered through to a quaint little seating area with only a few tables, dim(but not too dark) lightin and fun lights hanging. The hostess and waitress were SO sweet and the chef gave every table an appetizer on the house– we got salmon and guac in a potato basket. Teeny and delicious. We got the guac and chips appetizer– amazing, guac was better than some mexican places I’ve been to. They had a decent drink menu also. I got the steak sandwich and the bread wasn’t amazing and the lettuce was that stupid chopped kind but the steak was really good and the fries were high quality. Would be a great spot for a date– not first but a few in perhaps. Brunch menu also looks SUPERB

Really enjoyed this spot. Went here for a nice romantic date with my girlfriend and really enjoyed it. Complimentary amuse busche was a nice surprise as was the bread and honey butter. Girlfriend is a veggie and they had good options for her. I had a steak that was also great. Good drinks and perfect atmosphere for a nice dinner date.

If you’re looking a chill place around Chinatown to just relax for a bit, this is probably it. The atmosphere and overall ambience of the place is great. The food is tasty and reasonably priced and the service is friendly and nothing short of excellent.

We were shopping in Soho and found this place from Unilocal. The reviews were true. The food was amazing. The bread and honey butter was to die for. We had the avocado tortilla soup, deep fried oysters salad and roasted salad. Drinks were on point. It’s a small but intimate place. Our server was super nice too. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Soho.

Fantastic #SpeakeasyVibe #NYCLibations wonderful bar. The Bartenders, Mirabel and Matt are incredibly creative. Put your thirst in their capable hands. Trust me you won’t be disappointed! Great staff and management especially Sabrina!

Older crowd after work which I prefer. However, too many tourist coming in and out taking pictures. The food is mediocre. The drinks were pretty good but a little pricey. Ordered artichoke dip and buffalo wings. I like the artichoke dip because it was warm when it was served. The wings were too dry and not spicy at all. Cool looking staff.

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times already and had great experiences. It’s a good spot to hang out, grab some drinks and dinner if you’re looking for non-Asian food. Staff is very friendly and offer great service here. We were well taken care of the entire meal(and it was a long meal from our recent visit). If you’re looking for happy hour, they serve $ 1 oysters till 7PM and all day on Wednesdays. It’s a small dining area with a bigger bar area right next to it. We ordered a few appetizers: Chipotle wings — good flavor. If you ruin wings, big fail! Thankfully, they got the flavor right and it was a good size piece of chicken. Mac n cheese — this was amazing. So good and cheesy. It was coated well but not overly cheesy where you want to throw up. We added bacon and jalapeño to it — perfection. Calamari — it was just okay. Not too oily and the crisp batter was nice. Mojito — not their specialty so I wouldn’t recommend it. A bit watered down and not as flavorful as other mojitos I’ve had before. They gave us a complimentary artichoke appetizer with aioli sauce which was nice. As for the main dish, I ordered the simply grilled salmon with risotto and mac n cheese(it was THAT good). I didn’t like the salmon because it was too fishy-tasting(and I’m a salmon lover!). The shitake mushroom asparagus risotto was delicious! Highly recommend. And I can’t say enough about the mac n cheese.

So cute! It’s very cozy and is dog friendly! My baby managed to weasel his way out of his puppy purse and ran around the restaurant. The other patrons were so nice about it and our awesome server, Chloe, helped catch him before he could reach the stairs. The food was great too and oh so reasonably priced. I can’t remember the last time I spent only $ 20 on brunch! I would’ve paid that much just for the incredibly crisp and fresh tater tots they serve with most entrees.

Onieal’s(what’s the origin of that spelling?) Grand Street Bar & Restaurant was a treat today. The GF and I were trekking along as we always do and happened upon this«are-we-in-chinatown?» restaurant. Our original mission was to hit the gym, but we became distracted by utter hunger and exhaustion after walking around for a bit. Brunch ensued instead. We noticed the place was quite empty. SCORE. Soon we were seated and looking over the brunch menu. I’d say the selection was unique and unassuming. It took me a bit to decide what to eat. I’m serious ’bout ma eatin’. Shortly after some revision I landed on the short rib skillet, the girlfriend on the chicken salad wrap, and both of us on the bottomless brunch. Overall, the meal and service was exceptional. I’m not quite sure if this is a downside or not, but we found out during our meal that this restaurant is a tourist attraction. Gawking meanderers pass through unexpectedly. Apparently Sex and the City filmed here back in the dark ages…

Been here a handful of times so I figure it’s time to write a review. This is probably my go to bar when I’m in Chinatown looking for a chilled — laid back place to grab a few drinks and some munchies as well. Place is very chilled, lively ambiance. The outside seating area is quite refreshing when it is not too hot out there! Dined inside at the tables and sat at the bar as well. You can’t go wrong with either or seating’s. Great staff and great service. Always consistent!

This review is short and only a 10 minute experience had during the Sex and the City Tour. Stop reading now if you want to know how good the food/drinks/service is for«normal» circumstances. The bartenders were awesome, they knew a couple bus loads of women expecting cosmos were on their way and they had a bazillion of them lined up on the bar ready to go. No waiting, plus discount thanks to the tour, my kind of stop. The bar is warm and inviting, and the patio is light and airy. I could see myself sitting on the patio on a nice spring day taking in the good food and drinks. The restrooms are located downstairs, small and only two stalls, but it does the job. Take care heading down as the stairs are pretty steep and dark, so watch your step. It was super fun to visit Steve and Aiden’s «Scout Bar» during the tour. The area is absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to come back and have a «real» experience at Onieal’s.

We had an awesome experience here. Our server Caroline is who really made the best experience. Her thoughtful menu recommendations and cocktail suggestions were spot on. She continued to check on ha to make sure we were ok, and was a delight. I’d definitely recommend the salads, and pan seared tuna. I sampled the Mac and cheese too, and it really seems like you can’t go wrong here with food. The menu is extensive. The back is quaint and you can hang out with a few friends for a drink in candlelight. Otherwise there are a number of small tables up front for a cute little dinner. I was impressed and will definitely recommend this to others. I’ll be back!

Really enjoyed my time here when I had time to kill before happy hour… and then decided to just do happy hour here. Before happy hour, a pitcher of sangria is $ 40(about 6 glasses) and then after happy hr we enjoyed beer and dollar oysters. Awesome outdoor seating and they were super nice to my dog — very friendly, gave him water. The fish tacos were only ok. Surprisingly clean for a street near Chinatown — there wasnt any garbage blowing by to entice my dog. I would come back here for happy hour with my dog!

Ok, I admit it. I came here because this is Steve & Aiden’s bar in Sex and the City. Sex and the City may have gotten me to this place, but if I were a local, I’d come here all the time! I ordered a cosmo(duh) and it was the best one I have ever tasted! Honestly. The bartender was super friendly, told us a lot about the history of the bar and a little bit about the area. Totally fascinating, and was really fun to talk to. My boyfriend got a Manhattan and thought it was pretty tasty. The carved ceiling is beautiful, and the bar has a nice casual and relaxed atmosphere. I felt right at home and thought it was the perfect last stop on our whirlwind vacation. It definitely blew me away when the bartender treated us to a free second round of cocktails and wished us a happy last night in Manhattan. Thanks! That was truly the cherry on the pie of our night. I’ll be sure to stop by again when I am in the area. :o)

We came here on Friday night. When we called them they told us the wait should be long. But we could reserve with opentable at that time. So we got our table without waiting at all. We tried their oyster. we ordered steak. Really good experience. If you want to order cocktails, try their«bubbles and berries».
