Gallery One. Twenty Eight always has innovative shows. They tend to push the boundaries of art especially when there are installations. There is a great show right now by Andrew Ringler. Definitely worth a drop in.

My sister and I stopped in here yesterday and we basically got a personal walk through by the artist, Andrew David Ringler. He was happy that we were interested in his work. He mentioned all the pieces were inspired and documenting life in Ohio. I saw this adorable old lady in one painting and David explained that it was his grandmother. She could no longer tend to her pond and therefore the fish were being removed and the pond and filled with dirt. There was another painting that had the Bettlejuice, Winona Ryder feel to it. Ringler said that it was about a house that had been struck by lightning and was destroyed. The women moved into a camper behind the property. In the painting, the woman was holding a trailer in her hands and the house was behind her. I love his use of color in these portraits and the story each one tells. There was also things that were painted and were their own characters like The Pizza Barn or the 7 Up vending machine. Definitely an interesting show to check out!
