We are from the neighborhood it was my daughter graduation so we were thinking about eating at El Quijote Spanish food or Italian so we went for Italian. while entering the restaurant it was opening time so we got there around 11:05 a.m. then customers started coming in. as we were seated the waiter left us waiting then he comes around and ask us if we want anything to drink we said water… so he leaves for another while and I’m thinking when is the salad and breadstick are coming because that is the first thing they do at Olive Garden then he returns and I tell him when is my salad coming he says well i can’t bring you the salad until i make sure that you are going to order your meal i said but if we are here that’s what we come for to have dinner, so we ordered a appetizer the calamari but almost calamari crumbs it was no more that 5 rounded calamari so he comes with the bread and a few more minutes he comes with the salad. the salad had to be from the overnight left over it was so soggy. after having a few spoons we ordered then we received the food. chicken parmesan had a noise when i will cut it with the fork i thought it was frozen i had to touch into it to see. then he comes back with some bread and he says let me take that bread away this one is from today then he got the nerve to say so u want more salad i can give you half a bowl since when you get half of bowl of salad in olive garden i just wanted to run out of there!!! that was so weird why would he even didn’t offer us both wine taste. His appereance he should had looked way sharper didn’t like his sweat. and not looking clean left out of there not SATISFYATALLFOR86.96OFTHEBILLWOW!!! Everyone has their favorite meal at the Olive Garden. I always get spaghetti and meatballs. Obviously their salad as a must with every meal! I had a small issue on one of my visits. No need to go into the issue because it is how it is handled that counts. I had the pleasure of meeting George, who is the General Manager of this location. For any customer who met George, they will know his professionalism is what keeps this a well run flagship location for the Olive Garden

We were seated right away on a Friday around 6pm. Our waiter was attentive and nice. We were offered to sample two different wines — Primo Amore Moscato and Kris Pinot Grigio. I prefer the Primo Amore Moscato over the Kris Pinot Grigio because the taste is sweeter. We also ordered the Strawberry Passion fruit drink($ 4.5) and the Strawberry Smoothie($ 5) and then we started off with the Calamari($ 12.3) as our appetizer. I felt like the tarter sauce and tomato sauce that came with the calamari wasn’t enough for dipping. Calamari was a bit salty for my taste buds. Next we ordered the Chicken marsala($ 21) and the Herb Grilled Salmon($ 25). Yes, it felt strange eating at olive garden without the pasta in our entrees. The chicken was tender and the sauce was enough and the potatoes were really good. The Herb Salmon dish came with broccoli and salmon(yes –very plain, but it was alright for my taste). At least the waiter was around when we asked for 1 refill of garden salad and breadsticks. I do feel that the breadsticks were a bit salty and they didn’t have thousand island as a choice for dressing for the garden salad. The food came out in a timing fashion and they provided us enough time to view the menu and pieces of mint chocolate came with our check. My favorite was the Strawberry Passion fruit drink which I didn’t even notice that I didn’t finish.

Its been 10 years since my last visit. and its much better than i remembered. The long island lemoncello is awesome… never would have guessed it. The breadsticks look like hot dog buns. but tasted like buttery and garlic goodness. The salad is delicious. super fresh. My spagheti with meat sauce was great… even though it sounds easy to make at home. it was much better than what i can do. Service was great… awesome experience!

My throat has sore the past 2 days. Last night as I was passing here I noticed you could order food to go. I do know they sell soup so I looked at the soup selections and decided to order the minestrone after asking which soup would have a good amount of broth. I asked how long it would take and was told 10 minutes. I paid once I got soup which was done and given to me within 10 minutes. When I ate my soup it was well seasoned. The pasta was not overcooked which can happen when you put pasta in soup but I’m guessing the pasta is cooked separately. The beans were soft. The vegetables still had a little texture.

Best OG location in the city overall. My best friend and I call this«our spot» because they never fail us and we always have a great experience. I came back here for my birthday during the Valentine’s Day weekend and had an odd experience with the birthday dessert. At first, the waitress had no clue who the cake was for and walked away with it. She came back by herself with the cake and a lit candle and expected my two friends to sing the birthday song while she stood there watching. We asked her, «where’s your posse?», her reply — «no one is available». Hmmm nah… Red Lobster wouldn’t do that. Overall, that’s a minor issue. We always have a great time, piping hot and fresh meals, and wonderful wine. I highly recommend anyone come to this specific location.

4 stars for food — yes, I love Olive Garden 2 stars for service The hostess asked us if we’d like to sit at the bar. I asked if we could sit at a table. «IF you can,» was her response. I thought she meant she’d have to see if a table was open, but upon surveying the restaurant, I realized she was being sarcastic. She walked us to a table and walked away without another word. I felt she was quite rude and I don’t know what I did to offend her. Our waitress bounced from table to table, before taking our order. After she walked away, we realized she hadn’t asked if we wanted soup or salad(we wanted soup). 20 minutes later and we still had no water or bread. When she finally emerged from the kitchen with our water, she also had salad and bread with her. We told her we wanted the Toscana soup and she left us the water, but TOOKTHEBREADWITHHER! An eternity later, she was able to find her way out of what I can only assume is a labyrinth leading in and out of the kitchen. She had our soup and breadsticks. Hurrah! Waiting for our entrees didn’t feel as long as we had soup to sip on, but waiting for the boxes felt like a slow and painful death. When we, at long last, received our check, it came sans mint, but with a suggested gratuity of 18%. LAUGHABLE! I am INCREDIBLY disappointed in this Olive Garden. I have been a loyal OG customer since I was 14, but my go-to one is located in SF and the service there is fantastic. Step it up!

At first when I read most of the reviews for this restaurant, I was hesitant whether I should even bother coming here to eat(note: I went to another Olive Garden in Queens and waited at least half an hour just for my food to come). But I have a gift card to Olive Garden so I might as well use up the card. The atmosphere was casual and relaxing. The waiters and waitresses were extremely nice and polite. I came at a not so busy hour so I had a great experience here. I was seated immediately and the waiter quickly came to take my order. Around 5 – 10 minutes later, he came back with my dishes. His service was swift and the food here tasted much better than the one in Queens. It’s not as salty and the bread sticks were hot out of the oven, very fresh. I can’t say if the service and food will be and taste the same when the restaurant gets busy, but it’s a good restaurant to go to when it’s not busy.

Olive Garden is somewhere you go as the last option(especially in NYC where there are hundreds of other restaurants to choose from) or obliged to go to use a gift certificate you’ve had for months. We first went to the Olive Garden in Rego Park and had a terrible experience– 20 minute wait for food, waitress came around every 15 minutes. and vowed not to go back, but since we still had credit on the gift card we decided to go to this location preparing for the worst after reading the reviews. To our surprise, our experience was to the contrary– a pleasing one. We arrived at 6pm on a Friday when the restaurant was quite empty and seated in a booth. Our waiter came and introduced himself and politely asked if we had questions. He addressed our questions on the customized pasta for $ 13.99 that comes with unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks. We ordered it and the soup, salad, and breadsticks came out immediately with no wait! And best of all, the salad was super fresh, and breadsticks and soup, steaming hot! 5 minutes later the pasta arrived. The pasta was not special in anyway being plain and flavorless. I put it to the side. I’d have to say the best part of the meal was the steaming soft breadsticks dipped in Zuppa Toscana soup. And also the service! Quick and consistent. We will definitely visit once more for the soup and breadsticks. I cannot mention breadsticks enough. Yey to breadsticks!

This is not the place to come to for a true experience on authentic Italian cuisine. Olive garden is the McDonald’s of Italian American food. My family and I were hungry. The salad and bread sticks were great. I had the chicken and shrimp carbonara which was OK, nothing to write home about. My husband had a steak which he enjoyed and my brother had the salmon which was well-seasoned. We skipped dessert but received nice service. Our food came in a timely matter and no one complained. So, pretty decent time. If you’re hungry, want to sit down, be served OK food, then you will not be disappointed.

Bait and switched on order instead of fessing up to being out of items. First strike: ordered plate with asparagus and it came back with string beans. When asked, said they were out and were the string beans ok, after the fact? Couldn’t just fess up to being out? Strikeout: ordered Sicilian Cheesecake and a cake that looked nothing like cheesecake came back with strawberry sauce and almonds on them. Took a bite and it tasted nothing like cheesecake. When asked, admitted they were out of cheesecake and dressed up the lemon cake to look like the cheesecake. After the fact? Couldn’t just fess up to being out of cheesecake and offering another option? What if someone at the table was allergic to lemons? Could’ve been a good night but those two strikes are just penny wise and dollar foolish. Honesty, even today, is still fashionable…

I haven’t been to this location in a while. I didn’t have any problems the last time I had lunch. I do know that the prices are rather high. My office had their Christmas lunch here snd the service was very slow. I wouldn’t advise it for large parties. I love the salad and breadsticks. I always get desert!

Americanized Italian cuisine set in a Tuscany country style setting in New York’s Flatiron District. Chain restaurant of cookie cutter food with over 100 locations throughout U.S. as this one is no different with their standard signature: unlimited house salad and unlimited bread sticks. Following a Meetup event, my party of four was in famine but our leader came to the rescue with their special family pasta pass as all we paid was the gratuity. I am not a fan of Olive Garden due to their mass food production in their pre-cooked factory entrees, famine plagued me due to the bitter cold and walking activity of indoor sightseeing, I engulfed my Rigatoni pasta with traditional meat sauce and breaded baby shrimp topping within half hour. I personally prefer large shrimp for solid substance. Olive Garden’s signature is large portions for entrees as my party of four enter with famine and departed with a feast. This Flatiron location is HUGE and significantly larger than the much hype, much over rated Times Square. Note: The special family pasta pass enables four people only. Only soda is included, no ice tea or other non-alcoholic beverages. Service is average but attentive.

Loved the complimentary wine. I came with my husband for our anniversary. Our server was Andrew and boy did he make us feel welcome. He was warm and friendly and helped us with our ordering. There was a buy one take one(BOTO) deal going on which came with unlimited salad or soup. I asked him if one of us can get the BOTO and another person just get a regular entrée and he was totally okay with it. obviously we were going to share the salad and breadsticks. :) I got the chicken on flatbread. The chicken was super juicy and tender and I loved it. I wasn’t able to finish it because I had breadsticks and yummy salad with fresh cheese to fill me up. Andrew also added some fresh cheese on my flatbread which was very courteous. My husband got the 5 cheese to go and the spaghetti with meat sauce. It wasn’t awesome and obviously simple to make. It kept him full and we were happy. The 5 cheese ziti to go was premade and was refrigerated, it had instructions to how to heat it back up. It gave a range of 4 – 6 minutes so I opted for 5 minutes but it wasn’t enough. I also didn’t heat it with the lid because I was afraid the plastic would meat. It tasted yummy as if we cooked it ourselves and not too soggy. I would recommend this for a decent meal for lunch and dinner. Thank you Andrew for making our time awesome.

Yeah we went here… I had a gift certificate. Don’t laugh… The food was actually as expected. Service was decent. The restaurant itself was pretty impressive. But I’m pretty sure we got ripped off. Price was like $ 50 for one entrée and one soup and salad. We didn’t feel like arguing but just beware of the types of folks you’re dealing with…

Update: after leaving this review and completing the survey on the receipt being honest about my visit, I was contacted by the manager of the restaurant who was disheartened by my experience in the restaurant. He invited me back after explaining the steps that he would take to coach the employee that had been my server in the restaurant. I agreed and arranged a visit during lunch. Today’s server was super friendly had a great sense of humor. Food was great, personable service and food arrived in the correct order. We enjoyed our visit thoroughly, as it was back to the calm on the corner when in the whirlwind that is 23rd street. I hope that next time will be just like today back to normal.

This was a fairly disappointing experience: We came here as my mom wanted pasta for dinner and that there isn’t an Olive Garden in Canada. I don’t think Canada is missing out. It seems like a chain franchise like Moxies or Red Lobster with high sodium foods and irregular service. My table of 3 ordered the Chicken and Gnocchi soup, Garlic Rosemary Chicken and Tri Coloured Penne with meatballs. The soup was creamy like mentioned, but the menu never said that it had over 1000mg of sodium! It was way too salty to finish, I only had a couple of spoons. I don’t know how regular people can drink that as that’s half your daily intake. The soup also came too early as the waitress brought it at the same time as our salad… She never asked if we wanted more salad or breadsticks, or refills either. She was absent most of the time anyway. We were waiting for her to come out to ask for the bill and for water. I guess she’s tired as it was 9pm, but she should still repeat the order. The Pasta had nothing special about it and the meatball was almost fishball texture. I have to say though that the rosemary chicken had amazing presentation! Equally great taste and the mash potatoes are to die for-so delicious and comforting. The environment is great and so is the food presentation, but the service is lacking and if they ever want a good review from me or truly go with the«healthy options», I suggest they lower their sodium levels!

I love the Olive Garden! The food is delicious and so are the drinks, the Sangarita is my favorite drink so far. The only reason why I didn’t give this restaurant five stars was because I’m not sure if it was our waiter or the restaurant’s policy to give a party of four only three bread sticks! I wasn’t happy with that at all but it was forgiven once I received my appetizer. My friend brought me here for my birthday dinner which was really sweet especially since I neglect myself every year but anywho back my review. We had a really nice waiter, I’m terribly sorry that I forgot his name but he was very sweet and attentive especially since our party consisted of two adults and two children, that takes patience. I will definitely return here again.
