Ocean Dragon

Was looking for some Chinese for dinner and Unilocal didn’t disappoint. Found this spot and was very happy with the quality of the food, Wasn’t greasy at all and had plenty of vegetables and also brown rice as an option was a plus. Host was very friendly and if I had more time in New York I would definitely come back. Highly recommend if your in the area!

Great for take-​out. This is the best Chinese take-​out in the general vicinity. The food is fresh and tasty with very reasonable pricing. The food is ready very quickly so you are never waiting for long. Friendly folks working there too.

It is practically a hole in the wall. Not an elite place but the quality of the food is very good. Not very oily but tastes good. Portions are generous. I would suggest a take out. Ask for daily special combo. It is a good value.

I stopped in for lunch yesterday afternoon, ordered wonton soup and General Tso’s chicken with brown rice. Ingredients seemed fresh, sauce was out of this world, only slight points off because I think they cooked the chicken a little too fast. They didn’t overcook it per se, the exterior was just a little crisper than I like. Still, I was f’ing delighted.
Service was fast, and the bill was extremely reasonable. I can’t wait to go back.

The place received an «A» from the Department of Health which is a definite plus. The service was good but not great. I received my appetizer after my main course. The food was great!!! The price was right!!! It has been a while since I had great Chinese food like this. The food was fresh and full of flavor. I will definitely come back here. They need to work on their service to get a five star.

General tso chicken was excellent and fresh. The cold sesame news were good. I will def. order from here again.

Awful experience all around. The place felt gross and dingy. Both me and my friend’s food was gross. We were very disappointed overall.

What a disappointment! I used to come here regularly since I work in Manhattan but I’ve been working in the east side, so today after a few years im in the West side, I decided to stop by my old spot, ocean dragon. I ordered a roast pork with mix vegetables and an egg roll, but what I got was a tiny order of some of the worse Chinese food I’ve eaten. You ever been in that position where you have to ask for hot sauce to better youre food? That’s what I did. And something as simple as a egg roll was packed with grease spewing every Where I bit, horrible. I really like the woman who greets you at the door (who, I believe also did the cooking), but I really doubt in ever coming here Again, in fact the only reason why I came here is because my favorate Chinese spot «mees» (on 53^rd) is closed for renovations. I give this place 2 stars because I do like the woman’s personality, but I sincerely believe that if this place doesn’t hire a chef who can cook, it’s not going to last very long.

I ordered for delivery and they never delivered a food in 2.5hrs.
I called them and they told me they just forgot.
The woman who picked my call never apologized and told me «I’m sorry» with sounding like a joke at the end of our conversation.
I will never order with them and never recommend them to anybody.
These rude restaurants should shut down.
I am really pissed.

I would give it 3.5 stars, but I’m rounding up. My friend and I got takeout from here for lunch, and it was pretty good. And it only took around 10 minutes after placing our order to get our food – so fast! They offer lunch specials everyday that are around $ 6 – 7. The special comes with a soup and a choice of white, brown, or pork fried rice for no extra charge. I had the shrimp and broccoli with brown rice and hot and sour soup. My dish was great! The shrimp were large and tasty, and the broccoli was very crisp and fresh tasting. I also liked the hot and sour soup, which had a good amount of tofu, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots in it. My friend’s dish was a little disappointing. She had the General Tso’s chicken with pork fried rice and hot and sour soup. She said the pork fried rice was pretty dry and bland and just looked like it had been sitting out for a while. She liked the chicken, but she said the broccoli in her dish tasted a lot less fresh than mine. She did like the soup, though.

My review is deferent from all the previous !!! I was working in this place“ocean Dragon” and really I’ve been in so many food establishment before but never as disgusting and horrible sanitary condition as this one. And I really wonder how they get an «A»!!! and the owner she really doesn’t give the crab about the health and well being of her customers!!! she even makes fun of them with her so called chef!!! I was hired there I couldn’t finish the day Its like am poisoning others. I download some pictures for you guys by the way the mean preparation is done on the basement she has tiny room called kitchen that doesn’t have the basic requirement of one that’s why most of the food is in the floor !!! Next to the garbage cans that works as platform for preparation !!! One of the pictures has owner in the area of the crime!!! In case she denies.

You have to manage your expectations with Ocean Dragon. If you’re looking for authentic Chinese food you’re going to be very disappointed. If you want some cheap Americanized Chinese food then you’ve come to the right place. $ 8 for a combo platter with fried rice and egg roll or soup can’t be beat! No, it’s not the most exciting or flavorful Chinese I’ve ever had, but considering the options in the neighborhood it’s a pretty decent choice.

my delivery order took over an hour to arrive. I chose the place after seeing decent reviews and also receiving an online coupon for a free dish with an order of $ 15 or more. The free item was clearly listed on my receipt, but was not included in my order. It was disappointing to not receive part of my meal after waiting so long. The fried pork dumplings were average and while the sesame chicken was crispy, I found the quality of meat a little questionable. I have nothing against dark meat, but some of the cuts were sub par.

Very good fast Chinese delivery or take-​out. Nothing overwhelming but great for when you just want some good Chinese food delivered quickly. They can customize your order exactly as you want. Brown rice for small extra charge.

Whenever my husband complain he wants chinese food and by that he wants americanized chinese food, I will always suggest to come here for the steam chicken and broccoli. It’s such a good place for the health conscious and the not so concious!
I also like theor wonton soup. It just salty and nothing special. But it just hit the spot.

I have ordered takeout from here a few times. The food is way better than the Unilocal consensus. What’s more — it’s a great value. I like this place.

Like their tea. Food is generally good. Polite staff and fast service. A lot of food for an affordable price.

I’m kind of surprised by the negative reviews.
I’ve been eating here since 2010. I’ve never had any problems with the food from there and the lady that takes my order is always really nice.
I just don’t like the sharp jump in prices after lunch is over; it’s the same amount of food for a lot more.
The tofu general tso’s chicken is also pretty bad, though. They need to work on their recipe for that dish in particular but everything else has been fine!

As I’m wandering around the world of Unilocal,giving reviews to some of my favorite restaurants I found my mind wandering back to some of the not so delightful eating experiences. One of the worst experiences I’ve had with take-​out in my entire life was fron Ocean Dragon… and I never even got a chance to eat a bite of their food.
Why?
Because when I finally got my dumplings, after ordering and recieving them fairly quickly I found them garnished with a nice fat cockroach. I say garnished because this roach was literally in the middle of my plate, the first thing you see, nice and belly side up. My entire family and I were completely disgusted, and never ever even attempted to eat there again.
