Great pão com queijo!!! I went there with my friend last night and we loved it! Loved the environment, very warm and cozy absolutely coming back!

It’s your typical«Natural Feeling» Coffee Shop. You do have to put your own milk in the coffee so it’s sort of self serve but it has that real coffee smell. $ 2.50 for a medium sized coffee a pretty good price for Manhattan.

Sandwiches are some of the freshest and absolutely tasty, especially the Salami. Expect crafty condiments like oregano butter and cream cheese mustard. Coffee is strong and never bitter or burnt. Employees are super friendly and efficient. Floor plan is troublesome as it is a small space and there’s nowhere for traffic to flow, but definitely not a reason to skip this little gem.

A little overpriced, but otherwise excellent. They have a good selection of healthy food. My favorites are the fritatta and the apple muffins. Drinks are amazing. The Lovely Green Smoothie is honestly one of the best green smoothies I’ve ever had and keeps me coming back. Service is usually pretty friendly. Sometimes there’s a line. Gorgeous interior design, feels very refreshing with lots of wood and plants. Like I said, it is overpriced though. $ 10 for a smoothie, $ 8 for a sandwich that only has cheese, butter, and cucumbers on it. Wish there were a couple of salad options.

Amazing Latte Bahia, nice baristas, very laid back, a bit loud but not too loud that you can’t do some reading. Overall wonderful place to get out of the cold. Only thing is the small space, lots of people make is quite cozy, if you like the people sitting super close to you kind of feel. But did I mention the latte Bahia? It’s delightful. Wish I was in this area more.

So I was walking to pick up some medicine at Rite Aide during this horrible storm and I notice the shop was open. This comment is for the owner! Are you that desperate for money that you have to force your employees to leave their homes during this blizzard just to come a make coffee??? Your customers can go a day with out your coffee and survive! You should take this into consideration. Value your employees! It’s because of them that you have a business!!! Your shop being open yesterday, even today is just insane. I hope your employees tell you off one day! I really do! And I bet they are not even making good money because I’m sure your cheap on top of it.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 3 years and am so disappointed that I only just discovered O Café! It really does replicate the vibe of a laid back local café in South America, with the friendliest staff, outstanding flavorful beverages, and authentic delicious food. I really appreciate their focus on fresh, local ingredients which they purchase right from the Union Square Farmers’ Market. :) Unfortunately the space is tiny — be prepared to basically be sitting on top of everyone around you, even if you’re solo. As such, not ideal for a private conversation or doing anything that requires a lot of focus. But if you can manage to snag a seat, it’s the perfect spot to casually flip through the paper or a magazine while sipping one of the best lattes in the city!

Cute little spot. Perfect lattes. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re looking to sit and catch up w someone for a long time or to work on your computer. If you’re just looking for an easy, great cup of coffee, this is a solid choice

This place is really amazing and fantastic. But I’m giving it a two star review because of the employees lack of hygiene. The kitchen is open which is so nice because you can see how the food is made. But this is quite unfortunate when the employee who is cooking the food is also eating at the same time. All I could think of was the recent outbreaks of illness from chipotle You go to a place like this, fresh and organic, to eat healthy food. You expect it to be clean. Also, I go frequently to this café, and employees never seem to recognize me or any of the other regulars. The food taste delicious but the employees really could help take it to the next level. Never once have I seen a person clean a table.

Stopped by with a girlfriend before she had to head to class and while I wanted to enjoy this place, I didn’t find it very impressive. The spot is gorgeous, with lots of plants and unique tableware, but when I was there the ENTIRE café was filled with the scent of cheese. And a pungent cheese at that. Made me desperate to get out of there. I ordered a chai latte and my friend got an iced bahia. Didn’t take too long to get our orders and considering the hour it was surprising that they made them so quickly, but I didn’t think my latte was very good. Tasted a bit watery. I’ve discovered that a lot of the places that specialize in coffee don’t do chai very well. I tasted my friend’s drink and it was interesting, sort of reminiscent of a dirty chai? That probably isn’t a good description, but it’s the closest comparison I can think of as I’m not the hugest coffee drinker. My friend comes here often and she said that she enjoys their matcha latte’s and their acai bowls, and as someone who loves both of those things I intend to try them the next time I’m able. I really enjoy the organic and healthy vibes that O gives off. The dishes look as if they were made by people(as opposed to a machine), there’s a compost can, the paper products are biodegradeable, and they have a menu that’s vegan friendly. I definitely recommend O CAFE, but more for their coffee than their tea.

I’ve been coming here for a long time and there are some regulars. I don’t know how they feel about some of the changes to O CAFE but I can tell you I don’t like them. O Café did a major renovation earlier this year and created some additional sitting space and let the public usc the restroom in the back. Everything was fine and dandy! Recently, O CAFE made some additional changes. Bought a larger table, which is great. But then got rid of the small tables on the side and instead nailed up some super cheap looking pink tables against the bench seating area. I assume to stop people from being able to put their laptops or use notebooks on the tables. With the new change, O CAFE seems to be telling its patrons«YOUCANSIT, BUTONLYUNTILYOUFINISHYOURPASTRY.» Loved this place and was happy to pay the prices for their drinks and food. But with the change to its seating area, it just makes it very unwelcoming, cheap and unfriendly. There are a few café’s in the area, one of which is up the block and a few others on 7th ave and 12th/13th. I suggest you go there if you want a more welcoming environment. NOTE: The employees are awesome. Just the set up is just ugly. Even if you brought someone here for a first, second, third date or a coffee meeting, it would be like«ew, pink tables small tables? What is this hot mess.» And I’m not hating on pink. It’s just really an ugly set up. What were you thinking O CAFE?

Love this place for my morning coffee and treat. Their little open face sandwiches are yummy. They have the best almond scone and really great coffee. Only qualm is that they don’t speed up when it’s busy even when there is a long line of people trying to get to work/school and that gets to be frustrating. Service can be spotty depending on whose working. Sometimes the cashier will be texting/counting change while I stand there waiting… but it’s mostly good service. Overall pretty good spot.

I Love this place I literally go here once a day!!! I used to be obsessed with Starbucks till I had Real up scale yummy good coffee. The taste for the coffee here is awesome I have not gone to a Starbucks in over a year it’s just not the same. I love this place and there little coffee treats and sandwiches to chose from. It feels so earthy and relaxing. Great place for doing work or having a meeting as well.

Recently downloaded the CUPS app and stopped by here because I was in the area. I had a iced matcha with almond milk and my boyfriend had a cold brew. I enjoyed my iced matcha, though it was probably like any other iced matcha I’ve had. My boyfriend felt his cold brew was stronger and bolder than what he normally gets, so that’s a plus. The staff was very friendly and there were plenty of other items on the menu I’d like to try. The fruit by the pick-up station looked like it was free to take, but I’m not entirely sure? It’s a great study place and is appropriate for small amounts of chatter. There are also many plants and a large window, so it’s warm and inviting inside. It’s a recommended experience, though not an entirely necessary one.

I can’t really think of much more to say than«it’s a quality boutique coffee house in NYC.» If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ve found it. Nice relaxing décor, excellent coffee… pastries. There were a few freelance types tapping on laptops the morning I went in so I assume Wifi is available, though I didn’t check myself. As an added bonus they accept the Cups app which pleases me greatly since they have a twenty dollar minimum on cards. Which annoys me to no end for some reason. I just don’t like carrying coins! Why does buying a coffee have to come with $ 0.83 in coins!

AVOID. There was so much potential here, specially being part of the CUPS app plan, but they blew it. My coffee was good. I asked for a cold brew with no ice and the barista refused to fill it to the top. He was also too busy playing on his phone. My friend’s cortado was bitter, but they did not seem to care. The snacks are good but very overpriced. They will ignore you if you order them in Portuguese apparently, so don’t waste your money here. The baked goods are good but not worth what they are charging you. THEYARENOTWORTHTHESIDEOFATTITUDETHATYOUGETWHENORDERINGTHEMEITHER. The pāo de queijo is very small but I liked them. The brigadeiros were good also but not worth wasting your money on.(btw you can make these in the microwave with condensed milk, cocoa powder and love lol) The pāo de mel is good and almost fairly priced. Definitely don’t waste your money on the biscoito de polvilho/vento(aka yucca snack), because you can seriously get a huge bag of it for the same price of the tiny«palm full» that you get here. Don’t be fooled. They should definitely get the attitude in check. Making Brazilians look bad. Don’t pretend that you can’t understand me in Portuguese, then deliberately answer the phone in Portuguese. DUDE I CANUNDERSTANDYOU. What the hell. R-U-D-E.

Delightful bustling café with a friendly and efficient staff. Latte Bahia is a better mocha. The frittata is tasty and a quick and reasonably priced($ 4.10) breakfast. Lots of sunlight and plants and long rustic wood tables. Seems like it would be a swell spot to sit and write when it is not the morning rush.

Coffee: Very good Service: Very good Ambience: Very good I really like OCafe. I come here just about once every week and am always very impressed with them. I always end until getting a latte and it is very good. At this stage I have also tried some food items and have never been disappointed. I like the vibe in this place the crowd is very lively and overall just positive. I will not recommend studying here because I feel it kind of gets loud. I always equate a coffee house to Seattle and this place could do well in Seattle too so that’s a ringing endorsement :)

LOVE their pão de queijo. They are a little on the dry side, but I am so thrilled that these delicious cheese puffs are gluten-free! They cost $ 2 each. I got 2. because, trust me, you can’t have just one of these delicious puffs. They’re the perfect size, too. For my post-pão drink, I ordered a cappucino. I was scared I was going to spill it on my way to the seat because they were so generous with the amount they gave me. The cup was fairly large, too. The coffee tasted good, but it didn’t blow me away or anything. Overall, a cozy café with a pleasant atmosphere. It’s a great spot for a casual date or to catch up with an old friend while in town. I’ll definitely be returning for some more pão de queijo. I also look forward to trying their brigadeiros and exploring more of their coffee offerings.

This is a chill café with some cute leaves decorating the walls! I had their hot cocoa and cheese ball to munch on(which reminded me of the bread at Calle Ocho that I love to eat!).

First off, to all the entitled haters who want a back rub and a life affirming message with their coffee, please get over yourself. Its not about you. That being said, O Café is on point. Their espresso is nuanced, delicious, and not harsh or overly acidic. Their drip coffee is not over-roasted, and often has tannic fruity notes and all the things that help you know you are drinking freshly roasted coffee brewed at the right temperature. The Pão de queijo(aka Brazilian Cheese Puffs) are a moment of beauty and joy, especially with fresh butter.(Also GLUTENFREE!) Add to all of this a variety of sandwiches, confections(GF rugelach), a dedication to fresh, local products, and a dedication to composting, recycling, and stewardship of this ball of rock hurtling through space, I go out of my way to come to O Café. Have a tremendous and caffeinated day, Unilocalers.
