NYC Quest Dojo

Black Belt Hall of fame member Stephen Hayes opened his fist dojo in Dayton, Ohio which is where I grew up and where I trained for years. The lessons and insight I received from his instruction have made a immeasurable impact on my life. I would not be where I am today if not for Quest Martial Arts. Many dojos teach technique only, focusing on the achievement of the next belt, and forget to nurture the spirit and the mind. Stephen Hayes has a way of teaching that incorporates life lessons and spiritual growth in a subtle and complex way. Many times you won’t even realize you’ve learned something until it surfaces years later. He teaches his students how to reach their full potential. It’s this teaching style that he has passed to his instructors.
I thoroughly believe that there is no such thing as a superior martial art. Any argument about one art being more effective than another is pure hogwash. The goal of any art is to teach adaptability. To give the practitioner a set of tools and to teach him how to respond instinctively and in the moment. What matters most is superior instruction. You will find that at any Quest Dojo you walk into.

This is a true self defense system that dates back over a thousand years and had been tested on the battlefield and had been brought into the modern world based on defenses we need today.
