NYC Fresh Market

Things are going down hill even now. The produce is still pretty good, but onions and things are very hit and miss. One week I couldn’t get a bag of onions without a rotting one in it. You have to dig for the really fresh salad mix, otherwise it’s 5 days older than the stuff buried in the back. Besides produce the selection is very disappointing, with stock appearing one week and vanishing for ever after that. They also don’t have a lot of variety of specific items, like different types and brands of flour, or cream cheese (no low fat Philadelphia unless you want Onion and Chive). Snacks and canned goods (especially Tomato products and meat!) are very difficult to rely on. Disappointing.

I love this place! It’s convenient for me, and it’s rarely crowded. The prices are great, and everything is fresh. The only exception was a block of cheese I got last week. When I got home and opened it, it was dried out and started turning dark in spots. Other than that, this place is great. Good selection of items. This is my go-​to grocery store.

I live a block away, and I always come to this grocery store. They always have a good selection of produce. They rotate a lot of items depending on the season which is pleasant.
This grocery store is very accommodating to special dietary needs as I do not consume anything with dairy or eggs in it. Recently they stated carrying gluten free granola versus just regular granola. I was super excited to see this.

Love, love this grocery store! Great selection of produce and many special items for those who like to cook gourmet or those with special dietary needs! I wish they had a few more gluten free options but I’m sure it’s coming very soon.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. They have a terrific selection, the prices are very reasonable (except for their beers – ouch! Great craft and microbrew selection but they are not cheap at all) and the employees are all extremely polite. (Polite employees are one of those things that really matter to me – I detest it when I say thank you and the checkout person ignores me.) This is my default grocery store and they are a great asset to the neighborhood. I’m giving them 4 instead of five for two reasons – they need to price ALL of their items (frequently I have no idea how much, say, a carton of ice cream or a sixpack of beer costs), plus the broken window which has been unfixed for at least 6 months. (And yes, I also wish they would stay open later!)

The produce looks fresh, and they have a good selection. Wish they would stay open longer than 10 PM and sweep their floors occasionally.

The greatest grocery store in Harlem. When I come out to visit my son, I go there to get dinner every night. The food is fresh and they have great vegan/​vegetarian choices.

This is one of the few in the area that is clean and has real food for people who cook.

New grocery store in the area. Produce actually looks pretty fresh. Prices are average. Tiny check out lanes, but otherwise the grocery store is decently spacious.
