I’ve had lunch here a few times. Good food enjoyed the slider sampler which consisted of a crab cakes, brie. I’ve also had their pasta and a big fan of the desserts. Apple tart and the ice cream covered with chocolate to die for.

Niles is a wonderful place to stop in and have a drink, have dinner or even breakfast. I usually come and have a drink at the bar and Pete and Dan are two of the nicest bartenders I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. The restaurant also passes out complimentary apps to those at the bar for the work crowd. The food is also fantastic. Great spot to hit up in a not so great area in midtown.

Came here for dinner and was pretty disappointed. I ordered the wedge salad, which had too much dressing. The butternut squash risotto was not good at all. My sister ordered the irish burger and my mom got the sweet potato soup and those were«okay.» Our server was nice. The bar itself is separate from the dining area, and looked more lively and modern.

This is for bar review. I had short meeting with client. Good service and fast. Good location enough privacy space. Table was light up and nice. Easy to use. I will back again this place.

I went to this restaurant recently and had a great time ! I ordered the Irish burger and it was great ! You can dress casual to come here as well and rite outside the restaurant is the bar area which gets packed quickly and is on first come first serve basis. Overall I enjoyed my meal and would recommend any one to come here it is a bit pricey But if u wanna go somewhere different and ur near Madison square garden check out this spot.

Went here for brunch with family. Had a private room. Service was excellent. Food choices were good. Food tasted really good. There were 12 of us, so a lot could have gone wrong. Nothing did. Everyone really enjoyed the brunch.

I dine here on a regular basis due to its location and convenience to a few of my customers. The staff is friendly and the food is not bad. Ordered the Mahi Mahi dish for lunch the other day which was ok. This restaurant is about one of the better ones in that neighborhood.

The place is noisy. A little wait to get the waiter’s attention. But once we did, things went fine. We had lobster bisque and French onion soup to start. The bisque was stellar with chunks of lobster meat! We both had the sea bass special with beets and cukes, $ 29 each. Wow! Got to get it! We split a bottle of California sav blanc$ 38. Food was wonderful. Prices were reasonable. So here it comes. Al says just eat there!

Location is convenient, across the street from MSG. Beautiful presentation, good bar vibe. That being said, crab chunks were dry & cold, instead of sweet & juicy. the arborio rice in my seafood risotto was slightly under. Lastly, the wine list was mostly American, rather uninspiring.

I work in the area and have stopped by here before for drinks but never had a sit down meal here until last night. Started with the Lobster Bisque($ 8). A small bowl, but quite tasty and with quite a bit of lobster in it. I had the Pasta Special($ 23). Penne with shrimp and sausage and a zesty lemon sauce. Quite good. My other half had the Filet Mignon($ 34). No complaints from her. A draft of Stella ran $ 7.50 and a Hennessy and ginger was $ 12. A good dining option before a show at Madison Square Garden since it is basically across the street.

Staying in the hotel and looking for a restaurant that could fit us in for dinner on Christmas day and as we were staying in the hotel this was perfect. Service was pretty good, food was very good. Christmas themed turkey was excellent, scallops were also. Other meals were also very good. Dessert was also excellent especially the crème brûlée and s’mores. Vanilla bean ice cream done the way it should be. 20% discount for hotel guests makes it a great night.

Just a block down from Madison Square Garden on 7th Avenue, Niles is an oasis in that part of Manhattan. Very stylish décor, a nice open feeling, bar up front, restaurant in the back. Not a big menu, but a nice one. I had the seared Ahi tuna au poivre over asparagus with lobster mashed potatoes greens and a cabernet reduction and wilted greens the first night. Bette had the Orange and horseradish grilled salmon with smoked paprika sweet potato purée, baby red beets. A VERYENJOYABLEMEAL. The next hight I had the rib-eye with bacon + horseradish cake, charred haricot vert, wild mushroom gravy, porcini butter. Bette had the lump crab cakes. citrus-dressed greens, chipotle tartar sauce. We’re from Baltimore, so crab cakes should have no filler. These had filler; more like a regular salmon cake. Enh. Other than that the dinners were well prepared and presented. We came in for breakfast as well and found the breakfast buffet to be very solid. Fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, special hash browns, oatmeal, fresh fruit, dried cereal and a wide assortment of baked goods. The service was always very good.

Came here with colleagues for a business dinner. Appetizers and desserts were all good, as were most of our entrees. One came badly dried out. Staff were accommodating. Mixed drinks from the bar were good. Wine menu had«supermarket» wines that I can buy for $ 10/bottle at the store. Why bother with these at a nicer restaurant?

Had a business breakfast here. For a hotel restaurant in the middle of Penn Station area, this is totally nice. The food plates are a decent size and the coffee is really good. They do a breakfast buffet but our group ordered off the menu. I expected the prices to be crazy but fairly reasonable considering the atmosphere, food quality and location. I ordered a Fruit and Yogurt Parfait. delicious and layered throughout. That was a fancy parfait and for $ 10.00…MORE than enough food. Seriously check it out.

Had a business lunch here on someone else’s dime, so that was nice. Niles is across the street from my job, but somehow I never really noticed it. Quite a nice hotel restaurant actually, with good service and doable tabs. I kept things simple with the Tuna Nicoise salad, which was just about right. Medium-rare tuna, seared just right. Basically, the world’s greatest chef’s salad, and you get to say it’s French, to boot. Service was decent and the place is pretty.

When someone suggested this place for Sunday brunch I was pretty apprehensive since this isn’t exactly a great area, being close to Penn Station, cheap tourist hotels, and vibrant street life. But I was very pleasantly surprised. It’s a big place, very modern décor and an expensive vibe. A couple of tables in the window and the rest in the spacious back area. It was virtually empty when we arrived at 1pm on a Sunday, which caused me some concern, and the Brunch menu had only about 6 choices(the usual ones) but there was something for each of our party of 4’s eccentric food needs. Service was very prompt and professional, and the food was really very good indeed, the servings much larger than I’m accustomed to for Sunday brunches. And yet very average prices. All around me I watched the staff going about their business with considerable care, paying attention to details like carrying out a bucket of ice for the bar but discreetly covering it with a starched cloth, something they didn’t have to do, but did anyway. Whoever runs this place is paying attention, and it shows. For pretty much the same price you’d pay at a Greek diner you can get an excellent brunch, beautifully presented and prepared just right with quality fresh ingredients, and a really nice experience in a neighborhood not known for this kind of thing.

Ideally situated a block from Penn Station, Niles was a great meeting place for seeing old friends. We request and were seated at a corner table which afforded us a quiet place to reminisce about old times. The wine list was adequate and the choice of Pinot Noir was enjoyed by everyone. The entrée’s were tasty, moderately priced and ample. We shared a dessert of ice creams. Never felt rushed, courteous, non-hovering waiter. It is on my list of NYC restaurants.

Great brunch at a reasonable price. All brunch orders come with a mimosa. I had perfectly scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, hash brown potatoes, and fresh bacon. The restaurant is very bright and delightful with its play on a garden party with fresh single stem flowers on the wall and the green lighting against the all-white restaurant. Although it was below 20 degrees just sitting there for brunch made me feel warm. The basic Belgium waffle was kind of dry and rubbery, I should have taken the one they originally offered me topped with bananas and syrup. The coffee is decent. I dipped in here before heading back to the DMV, definitely not a destination, but if you want a substantial meal before heading back home, it’s close to Penn station, and the bus lines, plus you get a little atmosphere.

We’d walk miles to get to Niles and indeed yesterday we did after traipsing all over Hells Kitchen, then the East side to see the Christmas(yea I said it — Christmas, not holiday tree) and on to the Murray Hill section of Manhattan and disappointment here, we headed west back to Penn station and decided to rest our weary dogs at Niles for a couple of delicious burgers and wait out the next train back to Jersey. Niles is a very cool(literally we briefly froze while seated at the bar whenever the front door was opened, which was often last night) but this trendy upscale bar is a great place to hang considering the alternatives at Penn station. Their excellent Irish bar tenders are a bonus.

I met a friend at Niles Restaurant yesterday. It’s adjacent to the Affinia Hotel and right across the street from Penn Station/MSG and a few blocks from Macy’s. What a great midtown west location that offers contemporary American cuisine. As I walked in, the atmosphere was crazy cool. This place is very modern, with cool colorful convex light fixtures that was dimly lit giving it that casual yet chic feel. It has two TV’s on the wall for you to catch up on your sports while having a few drinks and appetizers. The bar was packed along with the few tables they had and people were standing against the wall. There was no space anywhere… I guess this is the place to be before heading to Penn Station. There’s also a dining area in the back. I had a beer and my friend has a glass of wine and the bill came up to $ 15. I figured as much due to the area. After the drink, I headed home. For all you who have a few minutes to pass before catching your train to wherever you are headed, this is a good place to check out.
