New Sein Mama Cleaners

Great cleaner. We have used 5 or 6 others in the past and rarely had any success with tailoring or stains. Mama does a great job and clearly takes pride in her work.

I feel like the prices here are kind of high, but this is Manhattan after all. Otherwise, I’m pretty content. The quality of the alterations and patching are good. Also, I travel a lot and need a flexible schedule in terms of when my tailoring can be picked up, which the seamstress is always willing to accommodate and work with.

I lived very close to Mama’s but I didn’t try them out because they were in the opposite direction from the 86^th/​Lex subway stop (and hence not on my way out the door or on my way home. However, after my old dry cleaner shut down, I had to find a new shop. Mama’s was great. For close to three years, the cute Korean couple catered to my crazy law firm schedule and picked up and dropped off my dry cleaning and laundry at early morning hours up to my 3^rd floor walkup door. They also did all of my tailoring and did a great cheap job on everything. They were so sweet and nice and when I told them I was moving to SF, they looked truly sad. It’s funny, but they are one of the things I often miss the most about NYC.
