Awesome people. Great selection, especially of beer. Perfect corner bodega – exactly what you’re looking for.

I order the breakfast sandwich, with two eggs, sausage, and cheese with a large coffee. It takes twenty minutes. The cashier charges me seven bucks. i ask why… He goes you wanted two sausage, two cheese and two egg… I pay for the sandwich because I am about late for work and hungry. This is what happens when I miss the bodegas in Harlem. Mike and Manny,(if I could sound like Sinead Oconnor) Nothing Compares To You.

Your basic convenience store/deli. Though admittedly convenient in location, not the best place– simply due to a huge lack in variety. They sell chips, ice cream and drinks, but have a very limited selection of brands. Lotto tickets and coffee seem to be the main thing to purchase here. They do make sandwiches and fries. As one other reviewer noted, they sometimes sell expired products, so always check the expiration date of whatever you’re buying. The beer is often warm even though it’s in the fridge and it’s impossible to get a full six-pack of the same brew here due to all the single bottles they sell. If you come for beer, a) make sure it’s cold and b) make sure it’s all the same! Also, they have a $ 5 card minimum, so forget about popping in to pick up a gallon of milk and swiping your debit. Three stars because the guys working there are really nice. Otherwise it’d be two.

The guy in the morning is great– Really nice– The guy at night besides being rude is an idiot too– He always messes up sandwich orders– The store sells expired products too so be careful-if you do get what you order its just avg–

Greenleaf Deli on Amsterdam and 85th is a typical convenience store and deli that stocks all the usual staples: beer, soda, twinkees, newspapers, canned goods, cereal, lottery etc… It also has a great little deli and grill where you can get breakfast sandwiches, hamburgers, grilled chicken etc… that are actually very good and very inexpensive. But what makes the Greenleaf Deli very special is the quality of the ownership. Once this winter when it was BRUTALLY cold I realized I didnt have my wallet on me. I stated I’m sorry and I’d run to the nearest ATM and be right back. The owner told me «dont worry about it. I trust you will come back tomorrow for it» and let me go. Now my order was only about $ 3.50, but that is a great sign of management and smart ownership as that faith bought him a customer for life.
