I came here for my birthday dinner last week. I was sad because the usual place I went to was packed so I had to come here. However this place was great. One star off because the beef I ordered wasn’t as great as the place I usually went to however many places I’ve went to doesn’t hold up to the standard so I’m not going to take too much off for it. Service was wonderful. The waiter kept coming back to ask if the food was okay and switching out our plates. He even gave us free soup! We ordered their Deep Fried Dungeon Crab and it was superb. I was licking up every little bit.

Benlou chicken is not good. There is too much soy sauce in muchroom&pork. Bön is not fresh. Yuntun soup is okay.

My husband ordered the wonton noodle to go. The soup was very flavorful and the wontons were packed with shrimp. Loved the taste however, it was too little of the noodles and my only wish was that they wouldve given more. Maybe, they give less for take out?

I came here with my wife to celebrate the our lil occasion(2nd child) and we wanted to go to a restaurant we never been to. It’s a cozy place, we liked the style of some tables and chairs. We were seated to a 2 person table, and that didn’t work out since we ordered 9 dishes. Waiters changed our table without any complaints. No 4g service here on my phone but my wife did. You can ask them for their wifi password like I did. Food was ok, not bad, but we had better for the prices they offer here. Just don’t scallion pancakes with curry, it was still dry with the sauce.(I suppose the oily factor keeps the sauce away? Lol) They also charge mandatory tips — 18 $ out of 110 $ we spent. We kinda didn’t appreciate that, felt like they took our choices away. Service was also just OK, but I would’ve left 15% regardless. Probably will not be back here for Cantonese cuisine.

I love the dimsum here. This is a review of each item: 1. Yang chow fried rice — It was a typically good fried rice. Not too oily. It had corn. I thought that might be weird but it was actually pretty good. 2. Pork siomai — very good. It was chunky like it should be. The one thing was that it had a mild porky scent that I’m not particularly fond of. I’ve had other siomai that didn’t have the scent. 3. Soup dumplings — I think they add Worcestershire sauce in the soup. It’s really tasty. Would order this again. 4. Pork with peanut dumplings — very heavy sticky rice wrapper. The inside was really good. The textures were amazing. 5. Wonton noodle soup — yummy broth. The shrimp dumplings were really good too! Everything we ordered was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try the other things!

Do not come here! Do yourself a favor. They automatically slap you with an18% service charge and for what? Our waiter, was unfriendly and curt. The pumkin congee was watery and bland. We should have totally given it back to them. The vegetable fried rice was small. It is the size of a 6 in. pizza for $ 8.95. And the crunchy vegetable and pork dumplings had no pork-surprise! You are at the worse restaurant in Chinatown! Never again.

I have definitely experienced better than Mottzar Kitchen. We came here to eat dim sum, but there were no dim sum carts. Instead we ordered off the menu. Most if not all the dishes were smaller than we had expected include the soup dumplings and cha siu bao. To top it off, the Peking Duck was seasoned way too salty. I have definitely experienced better than Mottzar Kitchen, but it is the relatively cheap prices that bump it up to 2 stars. Eat here at your own peril.

Einmal Peking Ente in Chinatown essen gehört zum New York Besuch Pflichtprogramm dachtenwir uns. Gesagt getan und hier eingekehrt. Nüchterne Ausstattung des Restaurants aber nicht ungemütlich. Freundliches Personal.

This seemed new opened because according to my relatives, it was not a Chinese cuisine restaurant before. We tried their dinner items and ordered a few items: sweet and sour sea bass, sizzling chicken in clay pot, Mottzar Kitchen(house) pork chops. The dinner items were yummy, but the portion was small so they were considered pricey. The service from our waitresses were good, they refilled our soup and took our order promptly. Only the man who was wearing a blue shirt tonight(the manager?) looked serious, he did not smile to the customers, did not thank them as they were leaving.

THEREWAS A HAIRINMYPLATE, A SHORTCURLYONE. YUCKYUCKYUCK!! This place is absolutely ridiculous. The menu is just full of overpriced crap. Seriously, I ordered the Kung Pao shrimp for $ 15 and it came with NORICE, TINYSHRIMP. Wtf! I have to order a side order of rice for 1.50? That’s not how it works! Don’t let the display of the restaurant fool you. It’s not worth the money. The waiter can barely speak English. Look, I know what fancy and what fancy isn’t. This is nowhere near fancy. PLEASEDON’T COMEINHERE, YOUWILLSPEND $ 100ONCRAP.

This is the worst Chinese Restaurant in all of New York Chinatown… worst value, worst food, slowest service. The food quality is very substandard, they take forever to bring you your food, they will forget parts of your order, and the portions? Don’t be deceived by the photos. Their pork buns are tiny, like dim sum size. I’m so glad I walked out before they brought me my noodles. And evidently customers feel free to sit at your table without asking. Avoid this place at all costs. The one star is for their Establishment being rated as opposed to pending… I guess it’s because they’re relatively new. Otherwise, if «no stars» was an option, that’s what they should get.

My first negative review and well deserved. This was the worse service ever: — claimed no shrimp in dishes that clearly had shrimp. Could have caused a major reaction. Didn’t acknowledge the problem. — took order for items that wasn’t available on the menu, didn’t mention it until end of meal — brought I force items — and argued the tip wasn’t enough and there was minimum too required sign on the bill in Chinese I frequent dim sum restaurants often. Fortunately, this is not typical. Never coming back here again.

Try the shumai and wontons. Best in town. And yes I’m a local Chinese New Yorker too.

why all the bad reviews! we came here for a work related event so the dinner was paid for. We had the private room downstair that was very private and clean . tried a bunch of dishes including stir fried lobsters with ginger and scallion, grilled sliced chinese, steam whole flounders, and steamed crabs over sticky rice, etc everything was delicious the place also looks very clean and spacious. I would definitely come back again

Came here a while. So mediocre I don’t even know where to start. So I won’t. It’s cleaner than most places in Chinatown but eh, you can find much better, and cheaper too.

I came here a couple of weeks ago with my mother and my sister. We definitely ordered too much food. We got dim sum(chive dumpling and rice noodle with peanut sauce), Peking duck, steamed sea bass, a plate of leafy veggie, and a plate of string beans. And I got a taro bubble teas because it’s the sweetest thing to be paired with my meal. Overall, our meal was ok. The Peking duck was not hot nor the skin was not crispy.

When I went to NYC a month ago, I was wandering around Chinatown with my family. A collective grumble rumbled through our bellies and we knew we had to silence that hunger, as well as get out of the biting cold. We happened upon a young lady, who(bless her heart) was standing outside in the cold, trying to drum up business and entice people to come into Mottzar Kitchen. Maybe it was out of pity for this young girl, or perhaps because we were tired of walking around in the cold, but we decided to give Mottzar Kitchen a chance. Greatest decision ever. The interior is spacious and clean. The waitstaff and friendly and helpful. And there are so many delicious things to choose from the menu, there is no doubt that we will be back again to try more items! On this trip, we ordered the lo mein, ribs, sesame chicken, and veal chops.(Something to that effect — after all, it’s been a month.) Mottzar Kitchen definitely puts the dim sum restaurant that’s located by me(which shall remain nameless) to shame. I would gladly travel 6 hours to go to Mottzar Kitchen, than go to the other place, which is 20 min away.

If you dine-in and spend over $ 50, they give you a family size bowl of house soup(no MSG) for free. Soup Dumplings with crab meat — This tasted different from other Soup Dumplings. It tasted good. Steamed Egg White with king crab meat — very good Crispy Tofu w/Pepper — Excellent. Don’t need to dip into any sauce. Sauteed Vegetable with Chinese Yam — Good Chef’s Special Virgin Chicken — Good

Mottzar Kitchen has replaced the Hon café which means no more bakery and cheap food. But it has improved… through the construction. They target for a more comfortable dine in now. I love their customer service here. They make you feel welcome. I think they still hire the old Hon Café’s worker which is a plus because I got used to them. The food now are tastier now too, but they do have a short menu. I’m hoping the menu will expand soon. I do love their spring rolls! As for the price, there is an increase, but still affordable and definitely worth it. The seating are so comfortable now with cushions, in the front it looks like a bar too.

20 dollars for an all veggie dish in a china town restaurant – lotus root, chinese yam, bottle gourd, black fungus, ginger, leek, and carrots It’s really authentic and good though. Pretty much half of the veggie kinds you don’t normally see them here in US. As a lazy cook and grocery shopper, I’m glad I came here for dinner while waiting for my hair styling appointment~~ Also, u know why this place is more costly? They have perfect health rating, nice comfortable seating, good service and everything.
