I came here for brunch and fell in love with this cute restaurant. I will literally be dreaming about the breakfast bowl for years!

Great atmosphere. Outdoor seating makes for a cute Sunday brunch find. Fresh, light, and simple options that leave you feeling full but not overwhelmed. Only downside about this place is that they serve only French press coffee. Brunch cocktails are also a must!

This is one of my favorite places for brunch in the city. It has a lovely, cozy farmhouse décor, and, although it’s a small space, it feels very open and airy. I’ve tried numerous brunch entrees on the menu(they also have a Bloody Mary menu, which gets extra points from me). My favorites are the fried chicken and waffles and the brioche French toast with nuts. The food is well-prepared and delicious. The prices for brunch items are reasonable, considering the quality and the amount of food that you get. The portions are HUGE… and I do mean HUGE… so bring a big appetite, or share an entrée with a friend! The service is kind and friendly, especially if you are sitting at the bar. I’m so happy to live within walking distance of this great restaurant. Five stars!

Duck and steak were simply well done! They include a rare fruit called Kumquat in the duck plate which aroused my appetite, when orange is normally used. And the steak stays juicy and deeply flavored. We’re just loving it!

YAY Farm to Table! AREYOUCRAVINGBRUNCHON A FRIDAY? But you can’t find a place? Monument Lane has 2 breakfast menu even after 12pm. The Breakfast Bowl and the Farm eggs! The décor is real cute and it transports you to place with wooden tables and fresh flowers! A true rustic countryside feeling. The French press coffee comes with cute sand timer and with a side of milk. FOOD: Duck Toast: There were beets and greens on top of shredded duck on a piece of bread. My friend and I were not a fan of the mustard seed. It definitely acquired taste, or preference. If you take big bite, you can feel it in your nostrils like when you consume wasabi. Breakfast Bowl: Contains two little perfect beds of farm fresh poached eggs with a mix of barley, my friend said that it could use a squeeze of lemon. Mussels: It was a good amount of mussels with 2 pieces of buttered garlic bread. The broth was exquisite and flavorful. It was kind of addicting. I needed a spoon to drink all its yummy goodness, but i could’t wait so I ended up using one of the larger half shells of a mussel. Overall, it was a pleasant experience!

This restaurant is a prime example of doing everything right but not needing to be perfect. The set up is nice where many people can fit, including outdoor seating but somehow wasn’t too cramped. Waiter was very nice and interacted well with our party. For my brunch choice I had the Heritage Pork and Eggs. Tasted great. Salad was had a nice light dressing, Pork was nice and tender and the eggs were prepared well. I didn’t care much for the spinach under it, but an ok touch. I had some of the Chicken and waffles and I can say from what I tasted it could be the best I’ve had and made me wish I ordered that instead which says a lot since my entrée was already good. I had a hard lemonade to go with the brunch which was also good, hit the spot with cold, hard and lemony. If the dinner and lunch is as good as the brunch, this place is a winner. I’d surely enjoy another visit. Again all the right marks were hit and that’s an easy way to 5 stars.

Absolutely lovely dinner here with my aunt. Great wine! Charming and helpful waiter. Locally focused inventive dishes in a lovely atmosphere, laid back but rustically elegant. It was a while ago so I forget most of the specifics but if you can swing it, get a bottle of the Folk Tree wine. Delicious!

I had a wonderful time here on a Sunday afternoon. I had made reservations for 2pm and we were seated right away even though the 3rd person hadn’t arrived yet so that was great. The restaurant wasn’t at capacity either. The service was so friendly and helpful so that added greatly to the experience. The menu has many enticing options to choose from so it was hard to settle one just one! I ended up with the large chicken and waffles. It was very nicely presented with a big green salad, apple slices, 2 huge pieces of well fried chicken and 4 nice waffle triangles. The flavors were good and there was just enough maple syrup to cover it all. I also tasted some of their special butters which were excellent. They had a whipped butter, honey butter, and an apple spice butter! I tried some of the pork shoulder with poached eggs which tasted great as well. I had one of the mock tails since they are $ 6 while the cocktails are a bit pricier. The one I tried included lavender and lemon and was nice, sweet but subtle. Definitely recommend trying this place and look forward to coming back. Nice that they take reservations as I don’t know if it gets busier on Saturdays. Very nice décor too.

I’ve walked by the super cute Monument Lane a hundred times, and finally gave it a go while my mom and aunt were in town visiting. The food is delicious, fresh and healthy — the Brussels sprouts and butternut squash soup with pumpkin seeds were particularly tasty. Service is fantastic — my aunt is hard of hearing and asked the poor server dozens of repeated questions, and she couldn’t have been more patient and lovely about it. Thanks ML for a great early evening!

We came here for brunch Easter because clearly it’s the only place we can book on opentable during the time. The service is extremely slow. I ordered coffee and an entrée. I asked at least five times for my coffee, and I didn’t get it when I almost finish my food. The food is okay, nothing good or bad. I got scrambled eggs, my friends got breakfast bowl and Benedict. Just okay. Nothing special at all.

Stopped for lunch. Love this little cozy spot. High cozy factor. We got the chicken soup and it was fantastic, some of the best I have ever had. Busses spouts were shredded, cool dish. Local wine special was great. Service was funky and good. It’s a neighborhood gem.

Saturday brunch presents an interesting conundrum in NYC. On one hand, there are so many great brunch places. On the other hand, once a brunch place«makes it», the hype is real and the waits are long. Luckily, there are those brunch places that are pretty cute, pretty tasty, and pretty much does the job. 0% hype, 100% business. Monument Lane probably falls into this category. At 1:30pm, they were able to take our party of 5 as soon as we got there. The food was enjoyable and filling, the cocktails were tasty and refreshing, the ambience was nice. Nothing may stand out per se, but the most important thing to know is you actually have a decent chance of getting in and enjoying a meal when you show up. If you don’t know where to go for brunch on any given Saturday, give them a call!

I have three words for you… CHICKENANDWAFFLES. Basically, get your butt to Monument Lane ASAP;) I’m still dreaming of the delicious Chicken and Waffles that I ate when I stopped in for brunch last week. Having eaten at other restaurants that specialize in Chicken and Waffles, I didn’t believe that Monument Lane’s dish would be anything special. AH, I was so wrong. The breading on the chicken was delishhh. Even though the plate was practically bigger than me, I ate every single bite. I just couldn’t resist! My boyfriend ordered the Chilaques, I never had anything like them before. We loved them! But, don’t order them if you don’t like spicy food. Now to the drinks– I LOVED my blood orange mimosa. My boyfriend’s grapefruit shandy was also very tasty, but a little odd to be offered for winter brunch. The only issue that I had with my experience at Monument Lane was the lack of space. Trust me, I’ve been in many claustrophobic situations when eating in NYC, but this was on another level. It was practically impossible to get up to use to the bathroom. I felt like my body was touching other peoples’ plates when I tried to squeeze by the table. Plus, it was super hard to understand the server because other tables blocked her from being able to get close to us. But don’t worry, not all seating is like that! We just got unlucky by getting one of the«annoying» tables. Overall, Monument Lane is definitely the ideal brunch spot in NYC. The menu options are unique, definitely not something that you see on every menu in the area. Prices are reasonable, it’s absolutely adorable inside, and the food is ahhhmazimg!

This was a pleasant little brunch spot — great for the weekends because it doesn’t get too crowded. We had a big party though, so made a reservation ahead of time. The food was delicious! They are part of the slow food movement and use seasonal/local ingredients. You can tell that everything is fresh. We tried the farm egg scramble, winter frittata, breakfast bowl, crispy pork salad, and coffee all around for ~$ 25/person. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy, but get ready to bump elbows with the table next to you. It’s a tight squeeze. The waiters were very attentive, but not too friendly. I don’t think I saw any of the staff smiling. Solid brunch spot, not too crowded, reasonably priced, and supports the regional farmers. I would definitely recommend it.

Underrated brunch spot in the West Village. I’ve gotten the Farmer’s Scramble twice now, and it never fails to disappoint. Home fried potatoes are perfectly crispy, and the scrambled eggs hit the spot. Pancakes are solid, as is the fried chicken waffle. I also tried the honeycrisp apple muffin(seasonal), which was DELICIOUS. Well-priced, and service is warm and attentive. Rarely crowded on weekends.

Stumbled upon this brunch spot a few weeks ago and so glad I did! Thanks Unilocal! We were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait for brunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon, and quickly settled into a communal high top table(there was a short wait for two-person tables). I got the chicken and waffles and even though the portions were huge I devoured EVERYTHING. It was that good. Two perfectly crispy boneless chicken breasts, four pieces of waffle with maple syrup, and a side salad. My dining partner got the pulled pork benedict which I tried a bit of, and that was very good as well. Prices were super reasonable, around the $ 15 – 17 mark, and service was friendly.

Monument Lane is located in a section of the Village where several smaller, non-big-franchise restaurants live. On a busy Friday night where other restaurants quoted my party two hour wait times, we were seated immediately in this friendly, comfortable restaurant. Monument Lane looks like a restaurant out of the early 20th century, and that’s a great thing. It’s walls, floors and furniture embrace wood of all kinds and the colors and lighting blended together to form a welcoming and beautiful environment. The restaurant has a small bar(for about six people) off to the left and the main dining area is on the right with a combination of tables in the middle and seating along the edges of the restaurant. There was also outdoor seating set up the day I went. There are two rest rooms, both immaculately maintained. Service was fantastic. We were given sparkling and tap water pitchers at the table so we wouldn’t go thirsty. The waiter was super patient explaining dishes and the restaurant concept as a «farm to table» type establishment. So how was the food you may wonder? Here’s a rundown of what I had: CRISPYPORKSALAD A farm egg, sliced pig ear, cherry tomatoes, chili vinaigrette come together to form a delicious appetizer. There’s a really nice blend of textures here with the tomatoes and egg giving some softness to the crunch of the pig ear slices. The pig’s ear was fried perfectly crisp and wasn’t chewy at all. NEWJERSEYCORNWITHMASCARPONE, BASIL This was a light and tasty side dish(that we used as an appetizer). The corn was fresh and crunchy. The mascarpone added a surprising sweetness and the basil added a layer of unexpectedly fragrant flavor. SPANISHMACKEREL With spiced fingerlings, confit red pepper and summer nage. Fish can often be too dry when restaurants cook it to death, but in this case it was perfect. The outside of the fish was crisp and the meat was tender once you broke into it. The sides were fantastic, especially with the fingerlings. I really enjoyed my meal at Monument. It’s not the cheapest place to eat, but it’s definitely a quality experience.

Really fantastic food and outstanding service. My friend and I were here last Friday for dinner and enjoyed every bite! I arrived early so I sat at the bar where I was greeted and offered either sparkling or tap water on the house. I ordered a dirty martini to start which was pretty good. My friend arrived and we were offered either outdoor or indoor seating. We sat outdoors and enjoyed people watching while chatting. For starters, we were brought a complimentary amuse-bouche of what looked to be a slice of an heirloom tomato and a plum drizzled with basil oil and topped with a bit of coarse sea salt. This was a really interesting bite of sweet, savory, tangy, fruity, and fresh. We ordered oyster hush puppies which weren’t that great as they were dry and not very flavorful. I would skip that. We shared the fluke crudo which was light and fresh. My friend ordered a pâté and headcheese board that she seemed to enjoy. I’m not a fan of either so I didn’t try it. For my main I ordered the roasted chicken which was delicious. The side of New Jersey Corn was probably my favorite thing from the whole meal. It was buttery, sweet, crunchy, and had a great depth of flavor. I could have eaten just a bowl of this and gone home happy.

The Quick: Charming country-esc brunch spot that’s not overly crowded. Small portions except for the chicken and waffles(highly recommend). The Details: The vibe and décor of this place is so different than classic manhattan, not over the top at all. I loved it. Even the bathroom was charming and beautiful. For breakfast portions were strange. The pork and eggs and the farm scramble were a tiny portion– delicious but small. Then for the same price the Chicken and waffles were gigantic– 4 waffles and 2 large boneless chicken breasts. This completely stole the show, everyone at our table was dying to try. The stuffed french toast and pancakes were also a huge helping. I’d avoid the eggs and go for more interesting options. I also recommend a Bloody(virgin $ 6 or $ 9 with booze) tasty with great housemade pickles. Looking forward to returning The Damage: 3 people, no alcohol ~ $ 55 + tip

This place is a well designed, quiet and airy bar /restaurant on the border of Chelsea the West Village and the Meatpacking District. Since the location is between neighborhoods it’s not too busy and relatively quiet place to drink, even on a Saturday night. There is a diverse beer and wine selections and the food is creative and well done. We had a great server and the bartender was talented.

Two of my favorite things in the world are eggs and then bacon. Monument Lane just happens to cover these two well. Many of the dishes comes with and eggs on top and of course just order bacon to the meal. We were having brunch before Transfiguration of our mind and soul with choral music. The bespoke rustic farm to table kind of food. Brunch wouldn’t be brunch without some Bloody Mary and Mimosa. Bloody Mary was good but not the best I’ve had. I got the pâté sandwich and other church ladies got the burger and an omelets. The pâté was fried with an egg on top with a spicy spread on a very fresh soft sesame seed bun with a salad. The juicy burger with bacon on top had the very same fresh soft sesame seed bun with shriveled looking fries that were quite good actually. The omelet was well an omelet. Seen one seen them all as I say it. The enjoy meal came with either tap or sparkling water! My kind of place. It was a lovely casual brunch on a mildly humid New York day. Good food and better conversation.

BRUNCHREVIEW: Monument Lane has your typical, hipster’ish brunch with options such as: Eggs Benny’s, french toast, Chicken and Waffles and to die for pastries. I sat in the community high table top with some friends and ordered french toast for myself and we all shared in the heavenly delight of their godly pastries. The cup of coffee that I desperately needed after running through 2 miles of Manhattan in super-rainy weather was delightful. Very smooth with attention being paid to the quality of the beans. It sucks to go and spend $ 20+ on breakfast, only to enjoy subpar coffee. Not here. The brioche french toast was delightful with creamy eggs batter, apples and delicious glazes of maple syrup. Each bite was a savored and enjoyed. The pastries came with 4 different jellies /marmalade’s; just remarkable. Service was fine, although it seemed like they wanted to rush us just a tad, but it was fine. Had a good time reconnecting with long lost friends at Monument Lane!
