I love this place so much. Their amarena and hazelnut chocolate flavor are perfect together. This is the best black amarena gelato I’ve had, and I just can’t get over it. I like the gelato by itself better than the panino, but the soft bread is also something you should try. Convenient location for when you don’t want to go to Chelsea Market.

There is something about beauty, about how transient and fragile it is, that makes it precious. I think about times I have had with those I’ve loved, with family members who have passed away, and it makes me want to cry how brief and tenuous those moments we shared were. Ice cream is kind of like the food version of this feeling. I know it sounds stupid, but it is something that is so fleeting it barely even exists on the tongue before it transforms, before it becomes something that has no real connection to ice cream. It’s no surprise that ice cream is often associated with childhood, it is itself childhood. And so that brings us to M’O II, probably the closest to Italian gelato you can currently score in the city. It is easily in the top 5 – 10 ice cream joints in NYC in my opinion. The milk chocolate, almond, nociolla, and nutella are all absurdly good. The taste and lightness of the ice cream is outstanding. I wish all love could last forever. I wish all ice cream could just be what it is eternally. But we are so lucky to ever have been alive at all, ever to have eaten gelato like this, ever to have been with that girl or guy that we love, even it was only for a moment.

One of the best gelato shops in NYC. The texture here is great, and the flavours are good quality. The dark chocolate is rich and smooth. We also enjoyed the amarcord, a custard type flavour which they top with sauce.

Flat out yummy! Creamy goodness that is a perfect end to a High Line walk on a hot summer day. In a cool market that is like a gourmet food court.

Despite the stellar reviews and the great location, the original on Mulberry(RIP PayPal offers) seems to have reinvented itself(changing apostrophes, adding pastries, etc.) and always seems to be empty when I pass, which may explain why this offshoot was handing out expired coupons on Gansevoort when we walked past. Same solid product. FYI The spot is NAMED Meatpacking and is clearly within MePa, but Unilocal has it mis-listed as the West Village

The hazelnut. The pistachio. Both as good as or better than what some of the better-known gelato destinations in Rome offered(ca. two years ago), in terms of consistency(smooth), sweetness quotient(not too) and depth of flavor(yes, quite deep). The pricetag hurts just a little, but even that is a good thing, causing me to wake up and think twice, so to speak, about seconds. If the prices were lower, I’d be eating more gelato right now.

Delicious. I go out of my way to get to this place. Treat yourself to some great stuff, guys. I always get a scoop of toasted almond and a scoop of dark chocolate. Very rich and creamy. The staff are always very friendly and will help you translate the flavors and pick a combo to suit your palate. $ 6 for the medium which isn’t very big, but they fill your cup with plenty of gelato so it is well worth it.

Too soft. Too sweet. Not enough flavor. I like the gelato place in Chelsea Market much better. This place is A OK.

How can a gelato be this good?! M’o Il Gelato was as soft, as smooth and as creamy like an ice cream, which makes me scream! This time I had the Giulia which made from caramel and salted peanuts. Pretty good it was and I wished the cup is bigger. Their flavors were interesting enough to keep me craving for more. Now I have all summer to come back for other flavors! Highly recommended to children and adults.

This gelato is the best I’ve had outside of Italy. So delicious! We tried milk chocolate(which is pretty rich), toasted almond, mango, strawberry, and lemon. All very good and so creamy. I think my favorite was the mango. It’s right inside the Gansevoort Market at the southern end of the Highline and by the new Whitney Museum.

This is a major welcome addition to Gansevoort Market, which fills the gaping void for a satisfying dessert left by the sudden disappearance of the short-lived Jeni’s Ice Cream Pop-up. This is the second location, after the one in Little Italy, which is also well-positioned in another area that is severely lacking in ice cream options. Either way though, the gelato here is really excellent. They have the standard gelato flavors you would expect, as well as some really excellent, unique ones. Best of all of is Delirium, made with chocolate chip biscotti cookies and cream, while Giulia is a close second, made with caramel and salted peanuts. In addition to cups and cones, you can also get these great flavors stuffed inside of a Hot Panino($ 6). This looks and sounds better than it usually is though, as I find they are usually a little stingy with the gelato, and it’s mostly the bread. The combination of hot, fluffy bread and cold gelato is still pretty amazing. There are a few other good options for sweets in the market, like the greek yogurt, crepes and macarons, but this is definitely the top choice for an excellent dessert.
