I tried to schedule laundry service with this place through , and they were supposed to show up between 8:07 — 8:52. By 9:15 no one has arrived so I called and was told the driver was backed up with orders and needed 20 more minutes. By 9:50, he still hadn’t arrived so I tried calling the store a few times and no one answered even though they were still open. So, I can’t speak to how their laundry is, but this place gets 1 star because they can’t even show up.

This place is great if you like to smoke crack before you do your laundry, and then pick fights with people. I was in here for only about an hour and during that time two yelling matches started between women at the washers. I was the target of some nutjob screaming in my face because I had the audacity to very politely ask her to move her stuff(a chair, 3 baskets, and bin that she had set up in front of the washers for some unknown reason) out of the way so I could get my laundry out and dried in time for work. Her totally reasonable response was to start spittle screaming inches from my face, then leave after two patrons called the cops. Oh and BTW, if you just moved here don’t expect the cops to actually show up to a 911 call unless you are actively being stabbed. A pair from a different side of the precinct finally answered the call over 30 minutes later, after the woman had slammed around a few doors and baskets, grabbed all her stuff and hightailed it up the street, got her babydaddy to come around the corner with her after she apparently had a few pills or something to calm herself down and have him stand with arms crossed staring at me while I waited outside for the cops to come. Later she came back and did her laundry while other people looked embarrassed and avoided her and one teen Dominican girl commented about the incident«well…Spanish». No Hispanic people I grew up with ever acted like that. It’s sad that people in this neighborhood think this is normal behavior for grown women. And this is not an uncommon occurrence here. The nice lady who works at the place also apologized(why should anyone else have to apologize for this crackhead though?) but really, not going to be doing laundry here again… Kudos to the 34th for a stellar response time.

They were good for a while but recently they can’t pick up anything on time, but the girls who work there are really nice and they try hard. Update: I recently tried to have them wash and press a few of my shirts but they refused because they were«too large» even though they were standard sizes. They did however offer to dry clean them which is triple the price. Pretty unacceptable and offensive.

I used this place 3 or 4 times and they were always great with picking up and dropping off quickly, but that’s about it. The first time I noticed my clothes were clean, and smelled nice but a couple pairs of pants looked a little faded. The second time I noticed there were other peoples laundry mixed in with mine. I alerted them of this and of course returned the laundry that didn’t belong to me. The last time or two I was missing laundry, had faded shirts, some garments didn’t appear to have been washed at all, and at least 3 garments that were clearly labeled«dry clean only» we’re not only washed, but put in the dryer, as they were shrunk and torn up! This place claims to be a dry cleaners as well, but does not separate these items. When I went there to show the manager my clothes and receipt, I was told there was no manager on site and had to call a number of another laundromat where he may or may not be in another neighborhood. I was of course given the runaround after that. The prices and location may be enticing, but don’t fall for it.

I’ve never been inside the actual laundromat to do laundry, so I’m just reviewing their pick up & delivery service. I have sent my laundry out about 5 or 6 times in the two months I’ve been back in this neighborhood; and they always do great work. It’s true, it is pretty pricey for this neighborhood, but as a busy person who lives in a 5th floor walk-up; it’s worth it not to have to haul my shit down the road, wait while the clothes are washing and drying, and haul my shit back up the street and up the stairs. The delivery guy did call me a gringo before, and I thought that was kind of in bad taste. In Astoria, they called me «miss» or by my first name, but I’m not in Astoria anymore, am I?

I LOVE this laundromat. It is always clean, the staff is friendly, and the machines are always in good working condition. It is a little more expensive than the laundry in the basement of my building next door, but the machines here work much better so it is worth it. There are also plenty of carts you can use to move your stuff from the washer to the dryer, and there are nice, long folding areas.

Considering the higher than average(for Inwood) prices I’m gonna have to drop a star from my previous rating. I still think this is a great option if you want a clean, comfortable place to hang out in and wash your clothes(not sure about their drop-off prices). But why pay $ 0.25 for 5 minutes in a warm dryer if the place around the corner will give me 8 minutes in a hot dryer?
