This restaurant is just across the street from work so I’ve visited multiple times with my coworkers and never have been disappointed. The staff is always very attentive and polite — definitely a highlight of the experience. I also like how they give you a bread basket while you’re waiting for the food(the bread is always very tasty). Now for the entrees. I’ve tried the pizzas as well as the pastas. As far as the pizzas, both the pesto as well as the one with capers are very delicious. They’re not too greasy or cheesy, but very flavorful. For the pastas, I would recommend getting whatever the special of the day is. I had a pasta with shrimp and it was amazing! Finally, they always serve the check with little cookies which I think is a nice touch. In the summertime, there is outdoor seating that always has great people-watching in the Soho neighborhood. Would recommend to anyone looking for good Italian food and excellent service.

The veal shank was delicious. It was like eating cotton candy; the meat dissolved in my mouth.

THISREVIEWISFORTHENEWBROADWAYLOCATION. Ok, the seating arrangements for the whole restaurant was so weird. Everybody in the dame place can see your plate. The food. NOTHINGSPECIALATALL. No flavor what so ever. Way over priced. Over 100 dollars for 2 people. Expected the food to be so much better. Really disappointed. Wish was better and would’ve wrote a better review. Our waiter was a great guy tho.lol.

I love to come here for lunch and am now a regular customer. Their best vegetarian dishes include the polpettine de verdure which are veggie croquettes on a salad, their pear and cheese pasta(fiochetti) and any of their pizzas that don’t have meat. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will continue to come here forever!

This place is awesome! There was a scene from the movie«Ghost» that was filmed in this restaurant! The scene where Patrick Swayze, Whoopie Goldberg and Demi Moore sat together in the restaurant to discuss«Sam Wheat» and how his ghost was talking to «Oda Mae Brown» to convince«Molly» that Sam was there in the room.

I came to this restaurant for the fiocchetti with cheese and pear. It was my favorite meal from Italy. The dish was so delicious at Mezzogiorno, I actually ordered a second plate! My spouse ordered the seafood risotto and also loved it. I hear they have great pizza here, however, to go here, and not order the fiocchetti is a tragedy worthy of an opera!

I came here this afternoon with a few friends to grab lunch as a going back-to-school unofficial end of summer gathering. We chose to sit inside despite the beautiful day that it was today and we were greeted by a courteous waiter. For starters, we settled for the vegetable croquettes with the goat cheese and field salad, chickpea and avocado salad with lemon juice, mint and celery, tuna slices with orange slices and the sautéed baby artichokes with pistachio and grana Padano cheese. All the appetizers were delicious and were a great and light way to start off with. All this came with a complementary side of bread sticks and bread with olive oil. Not bad. As for the entrées, 3 of my friends ordered pasta dishes, while I had the 4 cheese pizza. The small pasta pouches that my friend ordered came with sliced pears on the side with cheese and a light buttery sauce. It somewhat resembled a wonton. The 4 cheese pizza that I ordered was a thin crusted pizza topped with(hence the name) 4 different types of cheeses. It would’ve been better if the pizza came with tomato sauce though. The taste was comparable to a Artichoke slice pizza. For dessert, I went with the Unilocal user’s suggestions and ordered the tiramisu cake. My friends had the crème brûlée, chocolate and cheesecakes respectively. The chocolate and cheesecakes came with a side of ice cream and raspberries. My tiramisu cake wasn’t bad, it complemented the pizza well. I enjoyed it. Overall, I somewhat enjoyed my experience here. I had to take a star off for the wait time for the dishes to arrive when we were practically the only party dining, and another star off for the saltiness of the dishes. Would I come back? I’ll take my chances.

Not really worth the trip. I would have given it 2 ½ stars if I could. Nothing really good here, just ok. Sautéed artichokes not special. Prosciutto(very good) and melon(not good). Pasta with porcini mushrooms tasteless but not memorable. Pasta with basil pesto, greens beans and potato, ok but not more than that. Cookies on the house, so dry I started choking. Prosecco for $ 11 just ok.

I have been a happy customer since 2007. Lasagna bolognese, Margherita and proscuitto cotto pizza, mezzogiorno salad, Milanesine con insalata di campo are a few of my favorite dishes paired with the best Chianti selection in the city. The Tiramisu is to die for. I would not be suprised if they import it from Siena, Italy. Ambiance feels comfortable and authentic. The servers are always wonderful and a delight to talk to.

I stopped by here on Thursday night with a party of four adults and one toddler. To our surprise we were seated immediately. It was our first time visiting the Little Italy area. The staff were all kind and helpful. We shared the Lasagna Bolognese, Spaghetti and the Minestrone with vegetables. The Lasagna Bolognese was my favorite and my moms favorite was the Minestrone. I will be bring my boyfriend to this restaurant on the next trip:)

I’ve been here twice now and I feel underwhelmed about my experiences here. The food is decent. Not great, but fine. The main waiter who served us was nice, if a bit strange, but the man and woman who cleared the table/filled the water glasses, etc. seemed to be mocking us and other guests, which was really rude… The cookies served after dinner are a nice touch, but I won’t be back. Not the worst place, but far from the best, in an area that has lots of great Italian food nearby.

My parents have been going here for over 25 years and apparently it’s just as amazing as always. Every single time that I am here I have to get a margherita pizza. Yes my family loves a ton of things here and I would love to try more things but I cant get past the best brick oven pizza in NY. Seriously… My gf loves the lamb chops and my family loves all the seafood dishes. The waiters are incredibly nice and the ambience is quite enjoyable. Definitely a good date spot or a casual lunch. You have to try the pizza if you are a pizza person. I know my pizza and this is seriously the best fresh brick oven pizza in NY!

I think it’s amazing when a restaurant can keep the same integrity and quality of food and service every time you visit. The last time I reviewed mezzogiorno I believe we ordered the same foods: a calamari salad, a shrimp and bean salad, margarita pizza with hot oil, black linguini with shrimp and my lamb chops with broccoli and potatoes(some of these items are not on the menu anymore, just dishes his parents have been having for years). Of course a nice bottle of wine to wash it down equally helped and then the famous tiramisu. It was exactly the same as the last time I had it and the time before when I reviewed it and the last 25 years my fiancé’s parents have been coming here. It helps when you have the same great people wiring there providing wonderful and personalized service and the same man making the great pizzas. Looking forward to our next visit! :)

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Highly recommend the prosciutto cotto(cooked prosciutto) pizza — it’s totally amazing. I’d recommend one pizza per person because it’s 4 thin slices. I split one with someone and definitely ended up wishing I’d had my own(at most places I eat 2 slices of pizza). Also, we didn’t even have to wait for a table for 6 of us at 9pm on a Friday night because this place is pretty large.

Cute place! Great interiors and outdoor seating. Sat outside with my friend and we ordered appetizers, pizza, pasta and crème brûlée for desert. Food was very fresh, homemade and exceptionally plated nicely. Service was friendly and quick. People watching while sitting outside felt like a perfect Italian-American New York moment made for the movies. Would recommend and come again.

Solid, decent place with great service. The food isn’t the best you will ever have but it is good. The service is a little better than most places. Prices are fair oven local and restaurant style. I had a steak dish which was cooked as requested. Have I had better? Yes. But it hit the spot so I can’t complain. I do like that it was served with greens rather than a bunch of heavy sides. I had an appie involving fresh mozzarella though that was quite good and very decadent. My date was happy with his menu choices and we both liked the outside table seats for people watching on a Spring Saturday night.
