Enjoyed great late night snack with the girls in this little sweet pizza shop. Slices were cooked crispy, not burnt. Cheese was yummy and sweet Italian sauce. The owner was also nice and waited patiently while we had seconds even though it was past closing time.

They actually charge extra for sauce. What the fuck? The only pizzeria in the area that does it. No thank you.

They have a variety of pizza toppings. I had a slice of chicken pizza and it was really good.

You won’t wanna stick around and eat, since the place is so grim, but the pizza is okay. A plain slice is $ 2.50, with one topping is $ 3.25. Crispy. But the broccoli tasted a little funny.

Eh… This place could have been decent. The décor, a bit faded, the facility, a bit run down. The two brothers(I think they’re brothers, or at least very good friends) are friendly. However, their food isn’t that great. Pizza mediocre. The price is decent, definitely, but there was one thing that ruined my experience. They heated up a chicken roll(see photos), and they burnt it. They burnt a chicken roll while heating it up. Not acceptable.

This place is just run down. The guys running the place have messed up my orders too many times. I thought by going in i might have better luck in getting what i was ordering until one night, while i was waiting for my food i was joined at my table by the nastiest water bug i have ever seen! I will not be going back any time soon. The Pizza was never really all that anyway!

I am not a pizza expert but even I know that the food at Mezza Luna is not worth 4 or 5 star reviews. Between the four of us, we got: 2 sicilians, 1 grandma slice, 1 taco slice(we’re calling it that because it had taco meat on it), and 1 broccoli/chicken parm slice. I only ate the broccoli/chicken parm slice, but I think the general consensus was that their pizzas were nothing special. It honestly didn’t have any positive qualities in my opinion. It tasted like it had been sitting out for a long time… which is very likely because it was the only broccoli/chicken parm slice left. The only positive thing about this place is that the workers are nice and friendly.

2 slices and a diet coke equaled $ 5.50. Garlic knots were a great addition, seeing as we were starving. Amazing pizza, staff is nice, great place!

OK — the pizza is good but the staff are out of this world. They are hands down the nicest and most genuine and courteous people I have ever had the pleasure of ordering from. I brought twenty 10th graders there for a final class pizza party and they were wonderful with the kids. It’s rare to find such great customer service anywhere, much less in NYC. Thank you guys!

For NYC to have the«best Pizza» its sure hard to find. This pizza was so good and fresh. I had the 2 slices and a soda for $ 5. I wish I worked closer so I can go more often…

As a super regular I will admit my bias, but in 2-years, I have had very few negative experiences at Mezza Luna. The guys behind the counter are friendly, fast, and will quickly hook-up a special slice if the one you want is not already ready. The garlic knots will make you wanna slap your mama(though I’d advise against actually doing it)! If you’re counting calories(or coins), grab a friend and get the 2 slice + soda special for only $ 5 or add toppings for just $ 1.50 more. I recommend the grilled chicken, broccoli, and tomato deep dish!

Chicken and broccoli slices for the win. The guys who work there are super-nice as well and will remember your order if you’re a regular.

either the 4 – 5 star reviews are retarded or they are fake. Worst BLAND overpriced greasy SKIMPY pizza ever. The $ 1 pizza places are far better. I had a topping on it that was also tasteless. At least if the food isnt good at a place the décor is nice but this place is a DUMP. SKIPIT

I got 1 regular slice and 1 mushroom slice, which they made by putting canned sliced mushrooms onto a regular slice and reheating it. The mushrooms were disgusting! They were yellow, rubbery and tasted sour. I had to pick them all off, which wasn’t difficult to do since they fell off by themselves anyway. The regular slice was alright but nothing memorable. They also didn’t offer me the free soda deal even though I ordered two slices.

Hooooo siii!!! this is a hidden pizza place! Among the fancy places near Chelsea Market, this came as the best encounter for starving couchsurfers. We had the combo of 2 slices and a drink for 6.50. Good taste, but what completes the experience is the friendly attention. I’m not sure if they are the owners but the 2 Albanian that are behind the counter are just great! Nothing like eating a pizza, served in italian by an Albanian capable of speak in Spanish, Portuguese and yeah… English!

Since this is near my subway stop, I decided to meander in to check out the goods. I ordered a sausage slice and garlic knots. The sausage was plentiful and thinly sliced, lengthwise. This yielded a bit of sausage flavor in every bite without as much grease as I usually have to dab off my slices. Add an adequate amount of cheese, a mild sauce, and a very light crust and it totals a pretty good slice at a decent price: $ 3.25 for a slice with one additional item. The true test of a pizzeria is their garlic knots. At four for $ 1.00, these were steamy-fresh even at three in the afternoon. Garlic and Parmesan littered the surface and the butter was enough to lightly coat each tasty nugget. Even without a respectable slice, these alone would be worth a return visit.

It doesn’t look like anything fancy, and it’s nothing special, but this pizzeria isn’t bad at all! Located between 14th and 15th streets, this walk-in restaurant features the usual pizza slices and calzone rolls under glass. But they also feature a relatively full menu of pasta dishes, hot hero sandwiches, and basic Italian dinners(veal, chicken, and eggplant parmigiana). For me, the true test of a New York pizzeria is its plain(cheese) slice and a fountain Coke. And for $ 5.25 after work this evening, I partook of a slice of cheese pizza, a slice of pepperoni, and a small Coke. The cheese slice was excellent: relatively high quality cheese; a fresh, light, and slightly tangy sauce; and a crisp, thin crust. The pepperoni, which I ate second, wasn’t as great — still passable, but a little cooled, and I think they put the toppings on after cooking the initial cheese pizza. Reheating it helps, but the pepperoni was definitely not sunken into the cheese. And the Coke was great, the perfect mix of syrup and carbonated water. I’m not sure I’ll return to dig deeper into the menu, but it’s good to know that this pizzeria is there — and that it’s basically tasty.
