The fish tacos were amazing. Does anyone know why this place closed?

This places appears to have closed. I passed it twice in the last 2 weeks and it was not only closed — but all the tables and chairs were stacked up in the corner. The phone # has been disconnected. No note on the door — which is weird considering it had been there for at least 10 years and was usually busy with locals and those lucky enough to find it. A shame — one of the best Mexican restaurants around… :(

been here twice with my man and it hasn’t failed us yet. Very quick service and on point! ordered guac and chips and their fish of the day. This is a solid neighborhood joint. My bf lives near the area so it’s an easy breezy good place for us.

The food is really good, but the drinks and food are small sizes and over priced. I recommend the spicy fish tacos.

I love the guac and chips, I’ve brought many people here and never had any complaints. Very friendly staff… you have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom witch is weird but cool.

Great food, simple atmosphere, could add a few dishes to the menu and it’s a little pricey for what it is. Overall a solid neighborhood joint for that low key Tuesday night where your roommate ate your last frozen za.

I just ate here again last night and had such amazing food AGAIN. I love this place. My partner is not a fan of Mexican food in general but loves to come here too. Highly recommend for food, charm and really friendly staff.

The good: Yummy/Chunky Guacamole that’s well seasoned and does not require hot sauce to make it taste good. The Tortilla Chips were quite fresh too and not greasy at all. The Corn dish was excellent, slathered with chipotle mayo and then given a hit of cheese to make a great balance. Service was very good, water was always refilled and staff were very friendly. The bad: Spicy Fish Tacos?($ 17.95) — These tasted more like some sort of a mystery meat quesadilla. You could not tell what you were eating and for the price we paid, this was very disappointing. Way too much going on and why would you cover up the flavor of the mahi mahi?

This place has pretty yummy tacos if you want a late night snack. My friend and I got off work late and we wanted Mexican but didn’t want the busy atmosphere of Caliente cab co so we came here and let me tell you, it was perfect! Kind of a hole in the wall but cute. We ordered double margaritas, knocked us right on our butts. Sure sign of a good time right there.

Not entirely sure what this place is. It looks like a little hole-in-the-wall burrito joint but it’s too expensive for that. I’ve only been here 2 or 3 times when my frequent craving for Mexican coupled with laziness and proximity to home. I won’t say I’ve ever been disappointed but as Justine G. and I like to say, my taint was not rocked clean off or anything. It was still firmly attached on leaving. I like to leave my taint behind where I dine. I’m a traditionalist when it comes to Mexican cuisine and don’t tend to order«platos» — tortillas make me smile. Thusly and therefore my experience here extends to the burritos and tacos. And wtf, they cut up your burrito for you and lay it out like MRI slices. Dat shit nothing sacred? Thing is, despite the fact that those slices weigh in well under the 10 lbs. I hope for in a burrito they still taste really good. That’s why I’ll probably come back. To «wrap up»(get it, like a burrito! … whatever fuck you too) give it a shot … or go to Agave for imaginative mexican or Tortilla Flats for fun and staples. This place tries to be both and doesn’t quite pull it off.

Service is ok. It sucks that I have to eat tacos with a fork. That’s how soggy it was. Pitty. They def put this in the microwave.

the staff could use some customer service training. they told us the wait would be 20 minutes, then after we waited over 30 minutes for a table, they sat a larger party who came after us, before giving us(and another party) a table. we were upset, so we asked for the check for our drinks. then they all played dumb and each of the three staff members had a different story. one said the party they sat had a reservation(we heard the hostess tell them that they did not), another said they heard we wanted to eat at the counter(we had explicitly said no, that we were fine waiting for a table, and, had we said yes, we would’ve had menus and/or food). when we asked how long of a wait for the next table, we were told another 15 minutes. we asked again for the check, and they tried to make us look like idiots. not cool folks. they should communicate with each other. it’s a teeny tiny restaurant, maybe 6 tables max, so it shouldn’t be that confusing to keep track of who came when. the margarita was good though. very fresh. not sure about the food, we left before we ordered. unfortunately for them, we’ll likely never go back.

This place is overpriced disgrace to Mexican cousine. Soup with avocado was just spicy. Where is salt, pepper .at LEAST? No depth, umami – whatsoever! Quesadillas for appetiser only tasted of corn tortillas. Staffing didnt have any voice in my mouth at all. How did they get Michellin rating? May be only their lunch chef sucks?

I LOVETHISPLACE. Super relaxed, everything is wonderfully fresh. Certainly beats any of the chain Mexican restaurants you find littering the city. It’s a very small space, maybe 10 tables in all. The owner is very chatty and almost always in the restaurant. The margarita on the rocks is a MUSTHAVE. Delivery is quick every time.

Came here for a friends birthday dinner on a weekday night. Stepped in at 745 and they were able to seat us immediately. It is a really tiny space with lots of character. The chips and guacamole were excellent. We tried the habanero and pico de gallo salsa which were both fantastic. I started with a black bean soup that was a special and it was amazing! As for my entrée I tried the enchiladas– perfect portion and perfectly flavored. The mole sauce was a lit overly sweet but nothing that overpowered the entire meal. Overall– a great place to have Mexican if you are looking for a quaint and affordable place. Also– margaritas were amazing.

Came in minutes before they closed for Hurricane Irene. I was fortunate to get my to go order in as they were already packing up the kitchen. These were some of the best pork tacos I’ve ever had. The meat is similar to bbq pulled pork but because they’re wrapped in a fresh corn tortilla and covered with black beans it really works as mexican. I also took home a container of their cheesy dip done up with habaneros. Simply fantatic… not too greasy and with enough kick to feel the heat of the pepper. Prices are a bit steep for mexican and given their small cramped space. That said I’d certainly return because I’d always rather pay a bit more for quality than a bit less for crap.

Just tried this place out last night. Went around 6:30 on a Saturday night and had no problems getting a table. They only have 44-tops and then a bar top you can sit at. I got the chicken special which had orange and apple pieces and some other stuff and a peanut sauce. Unexpectedly tasty and came with a side of beans and rice. The portions aren’t big but that’s just fine with me. Everyone loved what they had. The bill on the other hand… my dish alone was $ 25. A bit much for what I got I think. Pros: — Some of the best guacamole I’ve had — Hot spicy salsa… yum! — Food, good quality and delicious Cons: — More on the expensive side for what you get. — Cocktails(I had gotten the blood orange one) VERY light on the alcohol not even sure it had some — Server kept hovering and interrupting to ask if everything was ok. Thanks for being attentive but you’re cutting into my story way too many times!

What the hell was that?! Snowy night after a long week so I’m staying in, and decide to order dinner. It got here fast — 20 min. But was that food? Or what the hell was it? Must have been a problem in translation: Menu said: «Chicken Burrito» — what I got: some kind of «meat» in some kind of really sweet sauce(what burrito has sweet sauce?!). Wrapped in a tortilla, and topped with — what? NOTHING? No cheese? No sauce? Are you kidding me? Horrid! I had to add my own salsa & cheese. The burrito was laid on a bed of… horrid tasting rice, garnished with… PEAS! Is this mexican or chinese? Menu said: Quac with chips — what I got: grocery store variety chips with some kind of unrecognizable green/watery stuff. It may have been snot, still not quite sure. And cha-ching: $ 28 bucks including delivery. AREYOUKIDDINGME? horrid, horrid, horrid. stay away — from me. do not deliver anything ever to my building. seriously. stay away. far, far, away.

Eh… That’s really all I have to say. All around lacking. — The service is quite irritating. — The menu is small, and while everything is done ok, it’s way too pricey(just bc you’re in the w vill doesn’t mean you can charge 20% more for the same thing) — Margaritas are not special. Al all. — The michelada is ok – refreshing on a hot day. — Make sure you ask about the daily salsa special.

I was really disappointed by this place. Every drink on the table was terrible. The Enchilada Roja lacked depth of flavor, as did the basic table salsa(we were recommended to add habanero sauce to the pico de gallo because of this), I tried their other Enchilada, which was much much much much better. I was just surprised when I bought an enchilada that was not covered in cheese. I thought that was a given? Also, I hated trying to find the place. I didn’t see the name anywhere but on the little chalkboard up front. Taco Taco is way better.
