Well I read the news this week that today 2÷23÷14 would be Meades last day. The constant construction around Peck Slip did them in. In the last few months Fi Di has seen the loss of Lisa’s Pizza, L and L Bbq, 5 guys and all the Pier 17 spots. Sad days indeed. I only made it to Meades once, summer before last. On a 100 degree saturday my former roomie and I ventured out to the Seaport and seekung refuge from the heat and the tourist traps we stumbled upon Meades. We drank Harpoons and played board games and petted a giant, friendly dog. Really chill spot. Im not much of a bar person so we never made it back but I always thought warmly of it and Im sad to see it go. The times they are a changin in FiDi and not for the better.

Solid bottomless brunch that includes screwdrivers, so naturally I took full advantage. The mango walnut pancakes were very good. My only gripe is that it was freezing upstairs during our meal. The setup is a little weird– it looks like someone’s apartment and not in a good way, so assuming this is an old building. Regardless, people were wearing their coats during brunch.

Went here for some brunch. Nothing special about the food. I am not sure I will visit here again. Price is ok.

Amazing bottomless brunch! $ 27 gets you an entrée plus bottomless mimosas, screwdrivers, or bloody Mary’s.(I believe it’s $ 12 for an entrée + bottomless coffee, tea, or juice). Everyone at my table had mimosas and definitely had a great time as the drinks kept coming quickly thanks to the attentive waiters and bartenders. As for food, between my friends and I we ended up with two orders of steak and eggs, two hamburgers, and one order of mango walnut pancakes, with everyone adding sides of bacon(which was really some of the best bacon I’ve had). All entrees come with a side of tater tots, and everyone cleaned their plates. I’d definitely come to Meade’s again. The appeal is the great deal for how many drinks you will inevitably end up getting, and the food isn’t bad which is a great plus. We had a blast and will be back to enjoy a Sunday Funday in the future.

Came for brunch on Sunday. $ 12 brunch menu includes coffee/juice. $ 27 bottomless Bloody Mary’s, mimosas, screwdrivers. Highlights: Tator tots. Best part of my meal. They have board games available for those who want to stay and linger. Food: If you’re looking for a «higher-end» brunch spot with high quality food, this is NOT it. I sorta felt like I was eating at a local diner or a bodega. No offense, the food was just mediocre. Not bad, not great. For $ 12, it’s still not a steal in my opinion. Ambiance: Feels likes a coffee shop. Wooden tables and wooden floors. Total of 8 tables. Service: Waiters were attentive! Would I return?: Yes if I was near the area(Seaport). Yes if I wanted to have a few drinks at the bar on the main floor. No if I wanted higher quality food.

I’m a fan of this place. Prices were reasonable, service was good, and the food was pretty delicious. It seemed to have a good brunch vibe while we were there. If I lived nearby I would come back for the unlimited mimosas option!

Great little place for brunch. Had the Mexican Benedict and it was perfectly cooked. Spicy, great chorizo. Place was busy, but not to loud. Sat at the bar and was attended to promptly and bar tender was really nice and very attentive. Only problem was the steam heat was on and in the corner of the place was blowing steam into building and it had this musty, mildew smell. They were trying to fix it once I left. Will return

I would have given a much better rating if not for the horrid service. We got there on Sunday for brunch around 1 and had to wait seated at the bar for a few minutes before moving to our table upstairs. The waitress at the bar was great and attentive at filling our unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Mary. Upstairs, though, was a different place. As a party of 4, we got three boozy brunches and a regular brunch. The food was alright and they wouldn’t let me order off the menu, which is fine, only it was a simple request for salmon eggs benedict(they have salmon bagel and mexican benedict as options, so why not?) I got the Mexican Benedict, which I expected to have salsa, etc. but it was really just plain old eggs benny with chorizo. Meh. In the end, it took about 40 minutes just to get the check. The 2+ hour visit would have been okay if the waiter was more attentive with drinks, or even in general. This was a very disappointing experience considering Meade’s potential: beautiful Seaport location, wide variety of table games for your wait(apples to apples!), and very reasonably-priced bottomless brunch beverages. Guess you can’t have it all.

Really nice place to go for brunch, especially when you are hungover. Tasty tater tots and really friendly staff. Will always return!

Looooved it! It’s not fancy or cool-looking but it’s good! I went for brunch on Sunday and was shocked at the price– an entrée and unlimited tea/coffee/juice for only $ 12! I had the hangar steak with poached eggs. It came with a large side of tater tots(which I love) and was overall delicious. A little on the greasy side, but that was overlooked in light of the excellent flavors.

This place is awesome, great location, outdoor seating open windows and doors, great food, great beer and the best tater tots. Probably one of the most consistently good places around.

Maybe this place has 4 stars because of the brunch, but as a happy hour place I would not recommend it. I’ve been here twice, and both times I felt pretty«meh» about the place. The drink selection is standard, prices are reasonable. The food is OK, but nothing to note. Their menu is limited and all of the dishes seem a bit plain. If you want a no frills basic bar and burger place than this would be a good for you. I really just don’t see anything special about this place. The bar downstairs isn’t that big, and the upstairs is creepy in my opinion. It feels like you’re in someone’s home. In the summer you can sit outside which is nice. But right now they are doing construction in the neighborhood, so the outside isn’t even a great hang out spot.

Took a walk around the area on day 2 of our recent 5 day trip to New York. I had this place booked marked but after the walk most of the other Seaport book marked places are still closed. Meade’s was open albeit rough round the edges. We felt a need to go in and support them. Just stood at the bar and had a couple of beers. As often happens when Americans hear a British accent they like to get into conversation. I’m not complaining its a nice trait and we are people people ! The girl behind the bar also joined in I think she might be the owner and was very nice. We didn’t eat but others that were looked happy enough. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back next time I’m in New York. I hope they get back to full strength asap.

My first trip to Meade’s was in January of 2012 and I sat at the bar for about 8 hours loving life. I’ve been raving about it to all of my NYC friends and was finally able to get back after over a year! I was pleasantly surprised that rude Sandy didn’t destroy too much of what the restaurant was built on – locals eating and drinking and making merry. The menu is slightly smaller now as they are still recovering, but the service is solid and the food is great. The«Tater Pie» with egg is a MUST. Tater tots covered in cheese and chili, topped with fried eggs. What could be better?! Also, this place has some of the strongest and best tasting bloody marys I’ve ever had. If you can, sit at the bar. The bar tender is the most amazing, outgoing woman you’ll talk to all weekend and it is so refreshing.(I foget her name because I sat upstairs on my most recent trip…) In the warmer months, you can sit outside which is nice considering the neighborhood and scenery. If you’re in NY, make the journey to the seaport for this local gem. You definitely won’t regret it and I look forward to many more trips here when I’m in the city. Don’t change a thing, Meade’s! You’re killing it!

Another great happy hour find! $ 2 cans of Rolling Rock or Bomb Lager(a can-only LES beer. brewed in PA) $ 15QUART margaritas $ 10 wine carafes (I think $ 4 or $ 5 well drinks, but it isn’t written anywhere) Drinks are decently strong. All beers are in bottles or cans — NOTAP! They have $ 5 «mini» dishes during HH. The mini mac is about the size of a soup cup and it’s a pile of starch and cheese, what else do you need? The mini fish & chips is not even that mini — a fish filet with tater tots, the size of a small meal. For the same $ 5 you can experience all sorts of minor lapses in dignity(cf. ), OR you could throw up your arms and consume something pre-frozen(thumbs down) and deep fried(thumbs up). Life is great. Meade’s is probably not a destination for a delightful, nuanced meal. Their upstairs dining space is abandoned around 6pm, so I’m guessing their food isn’t so popular. But there’s something very New-England-nautical about the space. In good weather, they throw open the doors on either side of the room and let the light and breeze come through. There are also sidewalk tables so you can get some al fresco action. It’s a great, neighborhoody bar for a happy hour group and their supply of board games adds to the charm.(But no one ever wants to play Connect Four with me.)

Came here on Saturday for brunch. Service: This is the kind of place you come to chill, its very kick back, slow service, but they are also not rushing you to leave. They also have a great brunch special and margaritas the size of your head. Eats: All the food is massive portions! I had the English breakfast which was intense. Everything was amazing except the sausages –which were blah! Eggs cooked perfectly, bacon was awesome. Other ppl had the burger: awesome, and the Ahi tuna(nice pepper on the outside) Overall a great spot to relax and have a kick-back lunch. I wouldn’t go here if you are in any type of hurry.

Find your way through the maze of NYC road construction and down to Peck Slip to Meades, I promise its worth it. There’s an intimate seating area downstairs, additional space upstairs, and a great patio space. Because they’re on a corner, you catch the cross-breeze off the water without the need to be blasted by AC during the summer. The atmosphere is chill, catering to regulars and wayfaring strangers alike. If you come on the right day you may even catch some of the old salts that frequented Meades during their dock days, trust me, they make for the best drinking mates! Meades has a full menu and pretty diverse selection of beer and wines. For food I’m agreeing with Jana S. and saying you need to try the Ahi Tuna, though I’ve heard great things about the burger, and for drinks go ahead and treat yourself to the Quart Margarita. Yes, that is exactly what it sounds like, a quart of margarita. A quart of margarita seems like a bad idea you say? Nonsense, quit being such a girl and have a drink! Come in on a Saturday night or for Sunday brunch and you’ll be treated to bar service from the owner. Fair warning, if you’re staring into those dreamy eyes with a quart margarita in your hand, things could go wrong(by which I mean very right) quickly.

I went here after work today with coworkers after reading the Unilocal reviews and I was sorely disappointed. Service was horrendous because the waitress was horribly rude. At every turn she gave us attitude and for no apparent reason. At one point, we thought we were on a candid camera show. Sadly, we weren’t. 1. She thought we were dumb for asking what the specials were. 2. She said that we cleaned out the cash register when only of us had asked her to give us change for a 20. 3. When one of my coworkers asked where the bathroom was, she answered sarcastically with«um. around the corner… the only corner in this place.» I didn’t even know there was a way for you to turn that around on someone. 4. When my coworker and I asked for the 32 ounce margarita to split she was thoroughly confused why we would ever split such a thing. 5. She continued to ask if we had finished paying for the bill and when we said we hadn’t she stomped away. 6 of my coworkers all went and all 6 of us were thoroughly confused what we had ever done to have such a horrible waitress be so horribly rude to us. So we ended up only getting one round, paying a tip MORETHAN we should have and leaving for the awesome bar around the corner(Cowgirl Seahorse). This place is also pretty grungy… I don’t really know how this place got so many stars.
