I inquired initially for Liat Mor’s UES apartment listing. But then I noticed how the price looked too good to be true, and that the kitchen floor tiles were gray in one picture and white in another. The really damning evidence of false advertising came with a quick Google Image Search revealing one of the ad’s images to be from an old listing for a (more expensive) UWS apartment. Same thing with multiple other listings. I even found one pic stolen from the New York Times! Steer clear of this scammer!
And Liat, be advised that false advertising is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to 12 months’ jail time (ref.: NY State Penal Law § 190.20).

I had a great experience with The Modern Group and, specifically, broker Moshe Kanarfogel. I found a listing on streeteasy and met with Moshe who took his time showing me the place and being honest and upfront about everything inquired (importantly, both the good and the bad).
I really liked the place but wanted to think about it for a little bit and Moshe did not try to pressure me at all. He was honest about no other people seeing it that day so that I had the night to think about it (other brokers will tell you about all the other people coming in to see it to try to pressure you). He told me exactly when the next day he was scheduled to show it again so that I knew exactly when I had to make a decision. It was very stress-​relieving to say the least.
Once I made the decision to take it, he cancelled the other viewings and devoted his time exclusively to me to work out the details. I asked if he could get the rent and brokers fee reduced and he was honest about how he would try but could not guarantee anything. While I can’t promise that he can do this for everyone, he was also able to get both the brokers fee and the rent reduced by a small but fair amount. Obviously those kinds of things really depend on the specific apartment and what the owner is willing to do but Moshe definitely tried for me (and was successful).
Most importantly, Moshe was always available to speak about any questions I had. Even if he was on the phone, he always texted me to just let me that he saw that I had called and would call me back after he was done. Very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend working with Moshe Kanarfogel.

Joanne provided superb service as I embarked on the daunting process of looking for housing in New York. With limited time (and budget), Zach and Jon made a great apartment hunting plan for me. Jon took me around the city, and helped me find and close on the perfect apartment.
