Mary Ann’s has recently changed it’s name to dalia’s, which I found out is a flower native to Mexico. Learn something new every day I guess. Anyway, very mediocre Mexican food and the service was decent at best. For how many good restaurants there are in the surrounding area there is no reason to waste your time going there, especially considering it is not much cheaper. 75 dollars for two enchiladas, two margaritas and guacamole. Won’t be going back any time soon.

I have come here a few times with friends after playing volleyball at Pier 25. The location is now called«Dahlia’s». i have been pleased with our friendly servers, good margaritas/sangria, and generous chips and salsa. I have also tried the guacamole and the rustic quesadilla(minus the mushrooms) and it was very fresh and very very good.

So now this place is called Dahlia’s Mexican restaurant. Sangria & flavored frozen margs are really sweet(waiter was honest about that). I ordered a special margarita instead– though lacking in presentation, it was tasty and strong. Friends ate, said steak fajita & guac was good. I wasn’t a fan of their off-tasting, über chunky mild salsa. Prices are high, as per the area. The place itself reminds me of Chevy’s with(terrible/old/cliché) blasting music & young drunks. I won’t be back.

You’d never typically hear the expression«Eek! Methinks not» come out of my mouth, but Unilocal has, once again, found the perfect phrase of condemnation to describe my bitter reflections on the MaryAnn’s experience. I never like going into dining situations with preconceived notions, but when I heard I was being taken to a place called«MaryAnn’s» for dinner, I was under the impression we were going to a cottage for a nice English-country-inspired breakfast. Upon arrival and entrance, I was greeted by unfriendly waiters and servers who bore little resemblance to the rather charming and old-fashioned MaryAnn I had been expecting. I don’t quite understand the(trifling) praise MaryAnn’s is getting for its inclusion of free chips and salsa. Sure, chips and salsa are great, and they’re marginally better when they’re free… However, the inexplicably poor quality of these particular chips and salsa most certainly has to outweigh the benefit of receiving them for free. If I genuinely wanted to eat store-bought chips and jarred salsa, I could have a much better time eating them as I strolled through a grocery store, while shopping for ingredients to make my own enchiladas. I just referenced making my own enchiladas, which is a good segue-way to describe the absolute tragedy of a dish my fellow patron and I were served. Just miserable. Imagine the most dreadfully awful enchiladas you possibly can. Really think about all the things that could go wrong with enchiladas, yet still be maintained with decent plate presentation. Think about these hypothetical enchiladas for a second more, and then forever remember that they’re being served, at exactly this precise moment, at a place called MaryAnn’s(which is not an English cottage with a cute old woman making biscuits) in Tribeca, where you must never, ever go.

Food here is okay(more a Tex Mex style), but portions are really generous. Things are indeed pricey, but then again, we are talking about Tribeca. Service is friendly and waiters do know what they’re talking about. Would I come again? Maybe not, I’ll probably just order through seamless for similar quality of food.

Food was okay. But the service was very bad. We decided we eat outside. Waitress was very angry in the sound she made in arranging the chairs for us. Wont come to take the order for 15mins. Order comes late, chips came in late, had to wait for water, they dont come to get the cheque. So we went ahead to the counter and paid the bill and it was still late. All this when the restaurant was almost empty! Wont go there again

Kind of expensive. Outdoor seating is nice. Food isn’t bad but I expected more from the price. Automatically included a 20% tip for 4 people. Either way I’d say way over priced.

So many negative reviews! I just came here for drinks, so maybe it’s different… But I had a blast! My friends & I came in between seeing Tribeca Film Fest movies to grab a few drinks. We ordered pitchers of margaritas, which were promptly delivered to us with salty glasses. By the way, a salty glass is a BIG thing to me — it might be my favorite part of a margarita. That said, every now & then they gave us NEW glasses with NEW salt! I was so excited — so much salt! The bartender Jimmy was awesome. He was constantly refilling our bowls of chips & salsa(which were given to us with our pitcher of margs), and at the end, he poured us all shots & took one with us(mind you — this wasn’t even late at night, it was like 8PM). I’ll definitely keep Mary Ann’s in mind for a happy hour or maybe some food next time I’m down in Tribeca.

Blech. Not a fan. Came here with a group of friends. Since the bar was crowded, the hostess gave us a table but said we would probably be able to have the bar discounts for happy hour specials. Our surly waiter nixed that. I was also quite annoyed that he took my hatred of onions too lightly. I asked for a menu item without onions, and he said they’re already mixed in, «but you won’t even notice them. Next?» I had to stop him and tell him not to place my order. I wasn’t going to order anything at all after his attitude, but my friends encouraged me to talk to him to find something I could eat. He said, «Pretty much everything on the menu has onions, so I don’t know what you can do.» Ummmmm, wrong answer in every possible way. As he was walking away, I asked, «What about the taco and avocado salad?» and he said, «Oh yeah, there are no onions in that.» He came back a second time to ask if I wanted chicken or steak in the salad. I explained that I do not eat meat, so I would just like cheese. CUTTO: Salad finally arrives, and it’s not appetizing. It was basically a giant plate of giant ingredients that I had to cut and mix together myself. There were no onions – thank goodness – but after I ate half the salad, I uncovered a layer of lettuce in the taco bowl… TOFINDCHICKEN! Ugh. When I called the waiter over to tell him that, he said, «Oh, don’t worry. You won’t be charged for that.» Soooooo, I don’t eat meat, but I’m not one of those people who freak out if meat is on her plate… but what if I were?! That was the last straw and I will never return to a Mary Ann’s again. There are so many better places to eat with better food and MUCH better service.

Great service and good sized portions. I had the grilled steak chimichangas and was just able to finish the plate. This is after I basically polished off the chips and salsa at the table as well. The dining room in the back was large and had high ceilings so noise won’t be a factor if conversation is your thing. Service was fast and attentive, no issues there. The only downside was that the margarita was a little weak. I definitely will be coming back for more.

Mary Ann’s is a Mexican themed restaurant in an otherwise overpriced TriBeCa. Their outdoor seating is pleasant in nice weather. On Tuesdays, they have $ 2 canned beer and $ 2 tacos. But, you get what you pay for because the tacos aren’t that good. In fact, none of the food is really spectacular. There are many choices in TriBeCa, but if you’re still paying off student loans, this might hit the spot. Just don’t expect anything because otherwise, you’ll be disappointed.

We happen to stop by because our original place was closed & this was one of the few places open in the area on a Monday. We were seated right away, the place itself is small nothing too crazy. They start u off with some chips & salsa, not bad because the salsa had a nice garlic taste. It was monday & the special was $ 5 dollar house margaritas, we tried those they were ok could probably use more alcohol but what do you expect for such a deal? they do the trick for the most part. First we tried the Shrimp & Scallops in garlic sauce, I must say this was pretty good nice sauce, nice garlic taste & with the soft tortillas u can pile the stuff on it w some garlic sauce on top, not bad. Next we tried the Chicken Flautas, these were better than they looked… the Poblano sauce on top made them look not so tasty, check out my pic & u will c what I mean Lol. Either way these were not bad bad, had to remove some of the sauce from the top, but overall good taste. Id say prices are a bit high for Mexican food in comparison to something more typical this one is more«Americanize» Mexican food. The place was good, nice service nothing out of this world but we had a good experience.

I love Mexican food. But I didn’t ‘t care for Mary Ann’s. The salsa tasted like it came out of a jar… and the chips were just OK. They have quite a few selections to choose from… maybe I just picked the wrong ones? Seems to get really crowded at night, especially on a Friday… probably for the strong margaritas. Still, not enough to get me to rave about this place.

It seems deceivingly small as you come in. High tables with bar stools are filled with the fizzling happy hour crowd(after 7ish?). Our group was practically alone in the roomy back dining room, on an odd Thursday night, post New Years Eve dinner. The tree and the lights were still there. So was the warmth and the festive feel, with some Euro songs in the background. I particularly liked the guac: not too watery, not too chunky, just enough lemon/salt/pepper and zest in a black stone bowl. We got a pitcher of margarita which was gone in a whim between the 5 of us(too bad we just missed the happy hour?!). It was a lovely dinner for a small group. Loved the low key vibe and our waiter who came just often enough to be useful but not pestering. So the rating is really for digging the vibe that night. The food was ok(a 3 star). My main choice of the evening were the Habanero wings. I know I know wings??? but I came, I saw, I conquered as they say. and they were Habanero. It has become one of my missions in life to find a great wings place. So far the jury is still out, any suggestions? Help me find my wings!

We spent a few too many hours here yesterday watching the playoff games. Here were the highlights: * Modelo Especial on tap — Tiny bit pricey at $ 7 a pop * Nice tequila selection — Unknown cost per shot(but generous shot sizes) * Free chips and salsa at the bar * Crummy chicken nachos per those who ate them * Tasty looking(but maybe not tasting) guacamole * Attentive service To be completely honest here, we only ended up at Mary Ann’s because every other bar was so darn crowded. It wasn’t a bad place for(expectedly) pricey drinks afternoon but I likely wouldn’t visit again.

Wandering around this evening, my friend and I ended up at Maryann’s. Now, I had the pleasure of living in San Francisco’s Mission… so I actually know what great Mexican food tastes like. i certainly didnt expect it to be anything like that, but I thought, hey, lets give this a spin and see what they have. I wanted to order tacos, but they came with a «plate» of rice and beans with cheese, etc… so I got something else. I had a steak salad. i think the only«mexican» thiing about it was the name, I think it was Santa Fe beef salad. It was just steak with lettuce and an avocado… and balsamic vinigiarette? What the hell is mexican about that? I was trying to partake in some Mexican cuisine while keeping it healthy, but that was a little disappointing. Especially the balsamic vinigiarette. at least make it some kind of limey, chipotle, cilantro concoction with a bit of corn and some peppers or something in it. Or some variation thereof. How hard is that? Oh yeah, and the salsa was actually great tasting, but we had hair in it. Eeeeeeeek. The service was OK, they were nice. Our food arrived and we had to ask for cutlery though, which to me is always a giant«wtf?»… That is like, Waiting Tables 101.

Mary Ann. Oh Mary Ann. It’s just not going to work out between us. It’s not me, it’s you. The best part about you? That would definitely have to be your complimentary chips and salsa. Also, the curves of your body… oh wait… that was someone else. Sure sure. I could handle your pork taco, but I couldn’t even finish the chicken taco that you brought me. And it’s not because I was full, Mary Ann. No no no. But Mary Ann, honey. Your real downfall were your rice and beans. The beans were like they were scooped straight from the can, and your rice was so dry, I had to chug my water to get it down. No bueno. Your service was excellent, if you know what I mean. Actually… I mean service in the most innocent way. Sure, I’d love to go out for margaritas or a shot of tequila sometime, but really? Let’s just be friends, Mary Ann.

Mary Ann’s is a mini-chain that offers Mexican dishes including: quesadillas, burritos and tostadas plus fried calamari. Negra Modelo on tap with chips and salsa are my personal favorites. The prices are tolerable and the service is prompt, professional and friendly. It is, however, difficult to replace the uniqueness and authenticity Yaffa’s Tea Room.
