This is my «go to» take out place. In fact, I go to Marche almost every day to pick up something for dinner for my family. Since I work late and don’t have time to cook and most restaurants in my area are winding down when I get home, I pick up at least 4 – 5 times every week. Entrees here are far better than other take out places and always consistent. The selection is great and there are always daily specials to keep it interesting. I don’t know what I would do if they weren’t in the neighborhood.

This is a small little gem in the world of all the New York delis. This is the place for you if you want delicious food for a reasonable price. Don’t expect amazing service but the staff is competent. Try the sandwiches and bagels.

What a rip-off! I paid over $ 10 for a pre-made tuna sandwich. They don’t make any fresh sandwiches. They were also pretty rude. Posted prices don’t include tax. The sandwich was fine, but nothing special.

The food is very, very good. The staff is awkward and standoffish. And if you dare ask for them to put their tuna on anything, beware! They have bagels, yes they’ll heat them up. They have knives for cutting and spreading. And they have tuna, but they will not, under any circumstances, take the tuna, with the knife and spread it on a toasted bagel. It’s the weirdest thing in the world and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. Good food, strange rules.

Marche Madison is a cute little store on the Upper East Side. I’ve passed by the area once in a while, but for some reason I haven’t noticed the shop. I’m glad that I finally did one day! I purchased a box of seaweed(they had my favorite brand there), an amazing chicken salad sandwich(which was perfectly prepared), and an Aero Bubble chocolate for dessert(one of my favorite chocolates), and the total came out to just over $ 10. For a Madison Avenue shop, that is not too bad of a price at all! The staff are kind. They don’t really welcome you too much, but they tell you what you need to know. After all, I came to buy a lunch, not to socialize. :) The only thing I would change is that they don’t typically give out receipts, which is kind of weird, but I didn’t really care at that time. And I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t find any sushi there, like I had heard about in other location reviews. But nobody’s perfect. Despite those small problems, Marche madison is a great place! The two previously mentioned issues are nothing that would stop me from coming back here, but would just help improve the shop! :)

Anytime my job requires traveling to NYC, im the first to volunteer, that being said, I visit my favorite eateries and hair salons. This place never fails. I get awesome service and awesome food. the place always have gourmet food. Food that I cannot get in the DMV! The cream cheeses and all the spreads are soo yummy for bagels! The pasteries are very delish. I was able to haul them back home since I was flying home. The butter cookies are soo delicate kinda like the butter cookies that come in the tin at Xmas times. delicious and savory pates! Proscuetto(sp) ham. The list can go on. For the ones complaining about the price, you are in Manhatten!!! The cost of living is high! The wont survive if everything is priced as if this is Aldis or Dollar General. The best part is that they do wine tasting. I was there for the first time to be a part of that. Best of all, they had an expert on wine and food pairings. I love my wines with cheese and fruits… etc. There are too many cliché stores in the DMV all the same crap, like Panera, Cosi etc, nothing and I do mean nothing like NYC! and I always get great awesome service from all over the store!

I go into Marche just about everyday. Since I work long/late hours and don’t have time to cook, I use them as my personal chef. The food is very high quality, imaginative, consistent and delicious. They also have the best selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Caesar, Sammy and the cashier girls are always happy to help you and they make the shopping experience pleasant. You get what you pay for and then some.

I have been here twice in a pinch. Bottom line: it is a RIPOFF!!! yes, it is Madison Avenue, BUT a $ 3.50 bagel can be had for ½ the price on Lexington Avenue. You are paying for the address… a cookie is $ 5.00… It is a very nice corner deli, but just a deli… I would rather walk the avenue down and pay a reasonable price for the same food!!! And the service is not great! the deli guy is snooty and the cashier girl is not friendly at all.

Beyond ridiculous. So much so that I thought it was a joke. I asked to taste the tuna salad. He let me. It was yummy. I asked if he had bagels. He said yes. I said, «May I please have a plain bagel lightly toasted with tuna salad and a little mayonnaise please?» He said, verbatim, «No ma’am, we don’t make sandwiches. I can give you the bagel and a container with tuna and you can put it on.» …IT’S A DELI!!! Since when do delis, especially in NYC, NOT make sandwiches!!! They have all the tools and it’s not like I asked him to make some gourmet monstrosity. I asked him for a bagel with tuna on it. In the time he took stalling me, he could have done it. Plus which, they’ve made sandwiches before! I and another customer walked out in disbelief. Truly, this is insane, highly illogical and has to be against basic customer service. I was floored and will NEVER go here again and I recommend no one else does either. Unless you can convince them to do what a deli is supposed to do: serve the basics.

Today I returned Martinelli Apple Cider for a full refund. Silly me. They charged $ 10/bottle while the going rate. is $ 3/bottle at local super markets. So beware of rip off pricing. At least they gave me no argument and reversed the credit charge with a pleasant smile.

After wandering around the Upper East Side for a few hours I needed something to eat and fast. I walked into Marche Madison and picked up a bottle of water and a roast beef sandwich and walked out in under three minutes. Damn. Now THAT is fast food. There was an abundance of already made meals, sandwiches, breads, and all manner of food in this joint. If I lived in this neighborhood, I’d be pretty happy that a place like this is just down the street. Or up it.

Great place to grab and go. It’s Like an upscale deli with delicious sandwiches, soups and gourmet sides. My husband and I picked up breakfast before a walk in the park and we loved the bagels. The only thing is they only offer cream cheese or butter for the spread– if you want another type of cheese, too bad. no American cheese and egg sandwich for you my dear!:(

I use to live in the same building as Marche Madison for 9 yrs and loved the place sooo much. It is expensive but the prepared foods are amazing and the staff was always extremely friendly and helpful… fantastic flowers, too, which always made a great hostess gift. The lines would be out the door during lunchtime and forget the holidays… mayhem! My favorite go to was the roast beef sandwich with cabbage salad on rye bread and swiss cheese. Yum! This place is top notch within a small store. It beats the gourmet selections of all the other gourmet grocery stores… However, I must say only Dean and Deluca comes close.

Highest quality gourmet food and groceries and the best service, including delivery in the ‘hood. You’ll pay full retail for the privilege, but this is as good as it gets – been there for 20+ years, too.

What to do what to do When you are stuck on the Upper East Side and need water? Aw, the joys and wonders of being able to walk anywhere one desires and find little surprises tucked right around the corner. I miss New York! I remember ducking in here to purchase a bottled water while my friend was busy calling for directions to a Whole Foods. It reminded me of an Andronico’s/RJ Deli fusion from back in SF. Slightly expensive but the selection of goods dictated the tag. If we were not going to meet up with her friend later I would have purchased a salad to help balance my digestive psyche. In addition to beers and wines, there was also a fantastic assortment of crackers, breads, and cheeses for a wonderful little spread to be enjoyed in the park.

Swung by here before the symphony picnic in the park to grab some yummy stuff and some beer for the picnic. Delicious. A little pricey, but delicious. Great cheese selection, some nice Belgian beers, and a wide variety of everything and anything a deli could have. It was much appreciated by all, and devoured with the quickness!

This fancy schmancy market has exquisite produce, a deli-full of sandwich fixings, and a case of pre-made salads ranging from $ 13-$ 17 per pound. There are also an assortment of chichi jams and olives, make this a great place to pick up gift items for the foodie in your life. The cash register is at the rear of the store and there is also an assortment of plastic utensils in case you’re heading straight for the park.
