Manhattan Community Boathouse

I came here two days in a row — once alone and once with a friend. We both had a fantastic time and the wait on a Saturday afternoon was only about 10 minutes and the wait on a Sunday afternoon was about 5 minutes. The staff is incredibly helpful and everything is organized well. There are small lockers to store cell phones and backpacks. Best of all, everything is free (all staff are volunteers and they work off of donations). Very highly recommended.
