Whatever happened to this place? Where’s the nice servers? Came here on a Sunday and surprisingly, only three tables were occupied. I was ready to order the regular food that I usually get any day of the week. Suddenly this waiter gave me attitude and didn’t want to take my order because it’s off the menu on a Sunday. Whatever. I used to like this place and service was better before. I had to walk out. Wasn’t paying to be treated horribly. Bye mandarin court! It’s been real. Ha!

Bad service. Waiting over an hour for someone to acknowledge our existence and I’m Chinese so I would expect better service!!! Sorry but that’s the truth in Chinatown. I would have left but we opened our wine… so we were stuck. But I did witness three tables walk out cause of poor service. The food was okay. Not worth the aggravation or wait considering I have experienced so many Chinese restaurants in these parts and they are much better. Just a funny thought… everything in this restaurant doesn’t make any sense. All the plates, utensils, food, chairs and drinks are in the front of the store and idk why they never though to create a hub in the back or middle to increase the flow of the store… enough said. They suck I will not be going back.

Very yummy dim sum! Service was nice and if you ask, they will bring anything you might like. Have been here every time in NYC and will continue to come back.

This is my favorite Dim Sum place in all of NYC… Great food, reasonable prices. It’s not fancy in any way, but the food is the best.

The service usually sucks, and they are really stingy with the soy sauce and extras. I’ve come here for dim sum and always wonder why I’m back. Habit I guess. Showing up on a Sunday at 1pm they were only about 5 different things on offer and they’re always trying to push the things they want to get rid of. I asked for an item that I didn’t see in the cart and the waiter said he would get it for me. 15 mins later he came round and I asked him again, he hadn’t even put the order in. The management don’t care about the service, nobody does, I can’t explain it.

Aweful aweful place !! dont ever go here. the waitress is also the owner of the place and she is the rudest person i have ever been served by. i usually dont give negative feedback but for a chinese resturant in nyc this was awefully bad. this place needs to be shut down ** food hygine !! — We were served on brocken glass ware. i can give it a pass as the food was relatively cheap. but is it eatable ?? no so its not even worth the dollars to eat here. theres plenty of cheap spots in chinatown that offers great service and cheap clean meals. the waitress insisted that we gave the 15% tip even though we were awefully dissatisfied. so we gave them the tip in cash and the rest on the debit card. they are fraudsters they debited double the amount from our debit cards which we then disputed with the bank. this is disgusting for tourists !! we dine out as we are on holiday !! so STOP bullying us. Tourists keep out of this place. and if u dont give them a tip they will hunt you down and rob you. worst experience ever and i will not be dining in chinese resturants for a while as this horror resturant has put me off them all.

I DAREYOUASKFORANEXTRACHILISAUCEIN A SEPARATESAUCEDISH! My very first experience in this restaurant was a nightmare. One of the servers went postal when I asked for an extra sauce in a separate sauce dish. I was a little bit under the weather that day, and I didn’t want to spread whatever virus i had in my body by double dipping in that single sauce dish, given that we were a party of six. As far as i can remember, I did asked nicely for an extra sauce and oh boy did she yelled at me like i was stealing her dimsums. I do not speak Chinese, but anyone can tell that by the tone in her voice she was indeed saying stuff that even Google Translate would refuse to translate. One of the servers intervened and asked for an apology, and gave me my and friends a separate chili sauce(one sauce dish each). THERUDESERVER refused to serve food and avoided our table. Terrible experience in this place. Management should hire people with manners and respect towards their customers. Never coming back. EVER.

Can anyone say Dim Sum. ??? This is the go to spot for Dim Sum in the Manhattan Area. Located in Chinatown near SoHo you will definitely get your fill of well made authentic dim sum.

Always great dim sum. We love this place and have been coming here for years. Try the spicy salted shrimp and also the baby boo choi

i had been coming here Sundays with people or alone for dim sum for many years. I always had an enjoyable experience here. Apparently now it has new owners. I was disappointed in the food quality, the service– the staff was not wheeling the carts with food, which remained stationary. I was there at prime time for lunch. The dishes I chose were cold. Also, the pot of tea served was cold, so I asked for a replacement pot. I only realized when I received the check that they charged me 80 cents(!) for the new pot. Two other diners waited close to a half hour for one of their dishes, that was never delivered to their table and had to confront the cashier to remove the cost from their bill. I have no desire ever to return to what was once a favorite Chinatown restaurant.

What a horrible eating experience! The service was horrible and so was the ambiance! Three of us [friends from work] went there last night hoping to have a nice dinner coupled with good conversation. We had neither. We were taken to a table and INSTANTLY, the pushiest waiter EVER ran towards us, gave us a menu and wanted us to immediately tell him what we wanted to order. We didn’t even have time to settle in, or open up the menu. Simultaneously, a woman brought us lukewarm water from the tab [no ice] and Chinese tea that was not hot as Chinese tea should be but barely warm. I got the impression that the water and tea had been left out for hours. We each ordered entrees and I ordered a plate of shrimp fried rice for everyone. Five minutes into our wait, we asked the waiter if we could be moved. There were some empty tables towards the back of the restaurant. You see, an incredibly noisy party of about 10 people were sitting directly in front of us and we could not talk over the loud din of laughter, screams and incessant voices each competing to be heard over the other one. Well, forget it! Our seemingly [to them] unreasonable request was apparently beyond the realm of possibility even though we explained the situation. So, we consigned ourselves to simply eating and not conversing. Anyway, when our dishes were brought in, they were brought in separately, but not just 3 or 5 minutes apart, more like 15 – 20 minutes. Meanwhile, they totally forgot the fried rice, presumably the simplest and most common dish which is usually brought in before all others. Since our pushy waiter was no longer interested in us, he was absorbed in something else at another side of the restaurant and never came by our table, we couldn’t flag him down, so I had to get up and ask him about the rice? Our food was getting cold and we wanted to enjoy it with the entrees. You see, unlike other Chinese restaurants were you get a free side of white or brown rice, in this place, you don’t, or so we were told. Anyway, 15 minutes later, the rice has still not arrived, so we had to ask the manager to help us and then the rice was instantly brought over. At that moment, if we had given the waiter a benefit of the doubt, we could no longer do that. He was SIMPLY not interested in helping us. PERIOD. It seems that the only time any service came by our table was to drop off food, or to pick up an empty plate. You see, you can try to flag them down, and they won’t notice, but the moment that you finish a plate, they’ll see it from the other side of the room and swoop down like a bird of prey to pick it up, even if a little bit of food is left on it. Evidently, they are only interested in more unwitting tourists coming in. They treat the place like a conveyor belt on a factory and the customers as nothing more than wallets full of money. It’s on Mott St., so they have a steady stream of unwitting tourists going in there most of the time. They probably figure that there will always be tourists coming in. Anyway, we understood the bad service when the check was brought over. There was an 18% tip included in the dinner. We were furious. I didn’t want to play this undeserved tip, but my friends didn’t want to make waves and they outvoted me, but this is the last time that we will go to this dump. I’m still fuming over this experience! My advice, avoid this place.

Food was okay but I wished they could’ve written the menu a bit better to reflect the prices for each of the dim sums and that whatever size the pushcart ladies give you, you have to pay for it. There’s no way to know what size they give you but they would mark it on the order card. I ordered sticky rice and on the menu it said $ 2.50 but I was charged $ 3.50. When I asked why, they said it was«special». I will definitely not go back. Like some Chinese restaurants they charge non Chinese or ABC’s more.

Place is tiny but the food is decent. The bathroom is downstairs and its alittle dirty. There are other chinese places to go to that are a lot nicer and cleaner.

Definitely go for dim sum before 4pm! The dumplings are great and cheap. I live nearby and love to take out of town guests here for lunch. Once had a main dish that had beef in it and I was definitely no impressed… Honestly it was pretty bad. So skip dinner. But Definitely go for dim sum!

Had the char Siew bao, chicken feet, pork soup dumplings, barbecued pork ribs and Chee cheong fun. Out of everything only the char Siew bao was decent. The rest was quite below average :(And the lady pushing around the cart was very rude and impatient and got angry with us cause we didn’t understand what she was asking us in Cantonese as we only speak Mandarin :(do overall it was a very unpleasant experience and we won’t be back again. Only came here cause I was craving dim sum so bad and there were major long queues at jing fong and the oriental. I guess that’s why this place is so empty.

This review is for the dinner. I see that some of the good reviews are toward the dim sum. First off, most Chinatown restaurants give peanuts as a little thing to snack on while ordering dinner. This place gives chips. It isn’t a bad thing, just mildly noteworthy. We ordered about 6 dishes to share as a family. The waiter forgot to put in one of the more important orders(a fried rice). When we finally did receive it, we didn’t receive any bowls. Any other Chinatown restaurant would at least ask if you want bowls, but it’s typically given right away when a fried rice or noodle variety is ordered. The waiter also muttered something under his breath, right after asking why we didn’t just use our plates. When we finally did get the bowls, 2 of them weren’t washed properly and still had some left over rice. We notified a young waiter and even he was shocked. We ordered a pork chop dish and two of the pieces were under cooked. I didn’t realize that food poisoning was a potential entrée at the meal. It was like a really rare steak, which isn’t supposed to work for pork, since it comes from a much dirtier animal. We ordered a garlic roasted chicken, which came with too much soy sauce. Eggplant king something(typically fried eggplant with some sweet and spicy hot sauce) that came in with a sour spicy hot sauce. At the end of the night, our main waiter apologized for the meal experience, and blamed the young waiter(who did nothing wrong). This has honestly been the worst restaurant in Chinatown I’ve ever been to.

The menu is interesting, good price. The youngest server is the only smiley one. The older servers are kind of rude and rough. Anyways the food was good and fresh! I liked it!

Big Wong ran out of Lobster so we are here once before. How bad can it be? THINGS about to get real. Wow! Worse customer service and waiting time EVER for a Chinese restaurant. I have NEVER ever been to a Chinese restaurant this horrible in New York City or in my entire life. There was no other customers at 7pm With 60 degree spring weather in the restaurant. That alone should’ve been a sign to us. LOL There’s a sign outside that says $ 19.99 for two lobsters in scallions and garlic sauce. The waiter told us that they have two lobsters for you bigger than the size and it would have to be $ 26.95. We said okay that’s fine and then we ordered chow fried rice. The waiter then proceeded to tell us that we had a minimum and needed to order at least a 2 more sides if we wanted to stay and eat there. We got up from the table and went to Noodle Village instead!!! Don’t ever go here!!! I wouldn’t and rather eat at Panda Express than step inside her again.

One of the more decent tasting Cantonese places in the Manhattan Chinatown. The owners and chef seem all to be Cantonese, which make the food and menu pretty authentic. Of course, there are your General Taso’s chicken if that’s what you fancy. Onto the real Chinese dishes: Xiao Long Bao was decent, but def go to a Shanghai place if you crave those. Recs: Heping Restaurant down the block **Seafood & winter melon soup ** was great– a must for a Cantonese restaurant Steamed whole bass– OK any whole fish dish should make or break a Cantonese restaurant. For Mandarin Court, unfortunately this dish stands somewhere right in the middle. The fish was steamed with enough time and condiments to give it flavor. However, the meat was a bit stale to my liking. ** red bean and Tapioca dessert soup** — this is a complementary dessert and it was actually really good! On par with those you get at a specialty dessert spot. Soup was thick with the right amount of sugar. Red beans were all well cooked, giving the dessert a paste-like texture. Service was mediocre. The onwers and service staff clearly did NOT realize how loudly they talk. OK, i’ll interpret that as Cantonese being… Cantonese…

Great place to have a dinner for large group, be it for a family gathering or colleagues from work. There were 14 of us and we sat together, eating, drinking and talking. Service was spot on with 3 servers helping us with our dinner. We had a mixture of everything and it was all good. We had lobster, fish, Peking duck, slice steak, pork chops, chicken and veggies. The most enjoyable dish was the slice beef, tender and cooked right. Sorry don’t recall the name or even take a picture but the staff there will guide you along. Price is reasonable for the fresh seafood and everything we ordered. We also had soup, fried rice and noodles as well. You can’t go wrong viaiting.
