Mahir Floral and Event Design

I have worked with the folks at Mahir for several years and have never been disappointed. I recently had Mahir work on an event one of my clients was putting on. The guests at the event we’re blown away by the creativity of these folks. In fact they continue to creatively blow me away. I’m in the interior design industry and often not easy to impress when it comes to floral design. Their also fantastic with last minute requests. get them on board for your next event or just because floral arrangements.

We moved into our new office and needed some floral for the unveiling. Due to the craziness of everything I left this at the last minute. Saw this florist on Unilocal and decided to take a chance as all our regular florists were not available to do this on short notice. Abu took my order and really seems to care about his work. He asked me pertinent questions like the size of the tables etc. I did have some specific ideas but he really executed them beautifully! I have now shared his info with co-​workers and will not hesitate to use him again.

I needed to pick up a big bouquet of pink roses last-​minute on a Monday night for a colleague’s baby, and I managed to find Mahir– they did an excellent job and created a very beautiful bouquet, just what I wanted. Their shop is lovely and everyone who worked there was very nice. If I have any further floral needs I will certainly be back! :)

I’m a really big fan of this floral shop. Granted, I’ve only been here, but they were super super nice and friendly and accommodating! The florist went above and beyond with my request and I would consider coming back again soon

Ultra cool place to purchase amazing plants-they’ve got a wide variety too, from common houseplants to exotic succulents and «air plants». Prices are reasonable for the area, they’re actually much cheaper than most places. There space inside is much nicer and public friendly than many of their competitors nearby. Plus, at least when I was there a gorgeous woman was working the counter. I’ll be back here for sure if I need some cool, sexy foliage.

I am a huge fan of Mahir florist! I have been there a few times now and each experience has been better than the next. From the flowers that are exquisite, when you walk in the store they are all over the place in such a elegant and creative way. They are so beautiful that they look fake. I always look forward to going there. Christine is also very helpful and hospitable as well. If you are looking for a florist for entertaining purposes or just to get a gift please think of Mahir florist. You definitely won’t be disappointed. I am looking forward to going back. The absolute BEST flower shop you can find! Mahir always has the most unique, rare and beautiful flowers and plants! I personally am obsessed with peonies and I’ve never seen any colors or quality like the ones at this shop. I highly recommend trying them out, you won’t be disappointed! Ask for Abu!

I came here for flowers today looking for a last minute mother’s day flower bouquet. I have to say, the people who work here are amazingly helpful and kind. They first asked me my budget and what kind of flowers I want and helped me choose assorted flowers to go with the ones I wanted. The bouquet of flowers came out gorgeous! The bouquet came out to a little over $ 100, which was a bit over my budget, but after seeing how the arrangement came out, it was a well worth it. I will def be coming back.
I also recommend anyone looking for exotic/​fresh/​beautifully kept flowers, to come here!

I was actually walking by Mahir on my way to another Floral store. Mahir had some gorgeous bouquets with exotic flowers on display in front of the store so I stopped and looked at them. The one thing I immediately noticed was that they were NOT trying to pass off dying/​old flowers off. The bouquets were fresh and gorgeous.
I took a bouquet into the store to pay for it. A gentlemen (don’t know his name) helped me and as he was preparing the flowers i asked if he had a vase as the bouquet was for a co-​workers birthday. He showed me a vase and created a sophisticated display and did not just put the bouquet into a plain vase and ring me up.
He took the time to make the bouquet elegant looking.
The whole thing was $ 35 and I know any other place outside the flower district it would have easily been a $ 100 bouquet.
The store was beautiful and had some amazing displays of flowers.
I highly recommend this place and will be going back for all my floral needs!

Gorgeous flower shop that is extremely clean and organized with staff that obviously take pride in their quality work and customer service. I needed a last minute house warming present for a friend and stopped by around 7pm right as they were closing. Before that, I was rudely rejected by a bunch of other shops on the block, but Mahir Floral quickly welcomed me in and helped me decide on my quick purchase for a plant. I was given honest advice and suggestions, and my budget was also well respected. Thank you for the excellent and efficient shopping experience, my friend loved her plant!

I was meeting some friends that were visiting from out of town and I just wanted to get them a modest little bouquet for the recent loss of their mother. Mahir staff worked within my budget and did it quickly, as I was doing this all on the fly. Both bouquet’s were beautiful. The two sister’s were touched and took the bouquet’s to the Church of St. Ignatius and left them in reverence for the Patron Saint of Spiritual Healing as well as in gratitude for the extended time they were able to have with their mother.. This shop’s customer service and artistry are aces! I highly recommend.

Very pleased with the quality and unique design of floral arrangements I have been receiving at home on a bi weekly basis. Christine is very attentive and has provided excellent customer service. I look forward to continued business.

Got the most beautiful flowers from here as a gift! Purple calla lilies with pink peonies, roses, and white babys breath. Probably the most beautiful flowers I’ve gotten in my life! Apparently they were super helpful because my bf went in there not sure what to get me. all he said was «she likes peonies» and they helped him with the other selections. its not cheap but its worth every cent!

My experience was a bit different than the other reviewers, but the service was just as amazing. One afternoon at work, I decided to go out and get a Gerber daisy to put in a bud vase for a coworker who was having a bad day. Should be pretty simple in NYC, right? Bodegas on every corner sell them. Unfortunately my office is located in the heart of the flower district, where every store for blocks sells amazing flower arrangements but not-​a-​one sells single cut flowers. I popped into about seven or eight stores before landing at Mahir. I was immediately intimidated because the store is so beautiful and looks very high-​end. I was about to walk out when Christine asked what I was looking for. I explained that I really just needed a cut flower to fill a bud vase and she responded with, «Oh we have plenty of flowers that you can put in a bud vase!» I braced myself for a sales pitch where she would try to talk me into getting a huge arrangement, but to my surprise she and Abu pulled out some beautiful, individually cut roses to show me.
I chose the prettiest one and Abu wrapped it up for me. I was flabbergasted by their amazing customer service– they really took their time with me. Even though I was only spending $ 4, they treated me like I was picking out flowers for a wedding reception! I really can’t get over how gracious they both were– when I actually do need to place a big floral order, this is the place I will go!

So. Let me begin with me getting a task to deliver 1200 yellow roses for someone very special for my boss in 2 hours. I knew right away I should go to Flower District although even there the chances were slim as it was already past 4pm. Once I stepped inside Mahir store I was immediately touched by simplicity of the store, yet a strategic position of flowers to show best side of each. Although I was not able to get all roses I need from Mahir store, Abu volunteer to make an arrangement free of charge to mix his flowers with the ones I got from his competitors. His whole team was super efficient, fun to be around. He also is very reasonably priced and the flowers were fresh. The flowers were delivered in timely manner, no one complained about having too much work to do. I paid for vases only not for time all spent cutting 800 stems. I had my WoW moment when Abu presented me a bouquet.
I think today was one of the best day at my work actually. Guys, I will always remember your kindness and willingness to help. I am sorry for not remembering all the names. Christine, thank you for photos!

This place is run by a guy who truly loves his work. It shows. I am not sure if he was the owner but he cares for his work like he is. He told me he «loves to work with flowers» and «the money isn’t why I do it». His name is Abu Pabel.
I needed a bouquet of Tulips and some rose petals for a very special woman and he hooked me up with a few extra tulips and rose petals. He made sure not to crush the petals and made the bouquet beautiful, even though he had just worked a very long holiday week (this was a Friday).
I assume prices are competitive because he is in flower alley. They seemed perfectly reasonable to me.
I WILL use Abu and Mahir again in the future.

Abu and Christine are the best! I have worked with them for years and have never had a bad experience. They do beautiful work and are very easy to work with. I would recommend them to anyone!!!

AMAZING customer service! I called today looking for Christmas garland for a photo shoot… in August, and I needed to pick up later that day. I spoke with Christine and she took the time to call around and see what she could get made for me, same day. I picked up the garland a few hours later, and not only was it completed in a rush, but it looked fantastic. Totally perfect for what we needed. She saved our butts!
